"Famous for reason, many soldiers have died on the battlefields of Day of Defeat. Still strong. Might be hard to get into these days. Also on source."

During steam summer sale i got this game for a dollor.
This game features amazing weapones and gameplay.
The community is very friendly and enjoyable to play with, i sometimes like to go away from the toxic csgo community to play this game!
Good graphics for a game that old.
This game has 2 sides which is the axis and allies and is set in the ww2 times featuring some amazing weapons and both sides have different weapons for you to use. ( what is also great about this is that it doesn't require you to rank up or unlock anything)

Overall thoughts and ratings:

Gameplay - 9-10 features fun maps and weapons to play with
Graphics - 8-10 i like games that look very good and have hd quality but this game has good graphics for it's time and still i don't mind the quality. ( before buying the game i kept on thinking that i will hate this game due to lack of graphics/quality in the game but after playing it i'm more than okay with it)

Weapons - Weapons are a big thing in this game and they made it very realistic due to the recoil of guns and the ammount of weapons for you to use from snipers to machine guns and the overpowered rifles

What i also like about the game is that it features things such as laying down, spriting and crouching.

Overall product rate 9.5/10

A game that CS:GO pros should probably play, this game is NOT very forgiving. Though I can see its charm, I can't play it well, but I'd still recommend it if you have very fast reaction times.

One game, a teammate kept getting killed, by his team, and the enemy.
He then yelled over voice that- "You bite the peach, the peach bites back."
He then got a 30 killstreak, and didn't die again.

I got this when i bought the orangebox.
It once was the best game ever, but those times are long gone.
I'm talking about the version 3.1 HalfLife modification.
So i was glad i still had a copy of the mod somewhere and an old HL-CD of the nonsteam version to install it on.
Playing the game via virtual network on LAN mode still is as much fun as it was back then when i was 14.
It's sad to see how it turned into an arcadeshooter like every other new game these days.

Oh god where do I start with this game, the amount of hours I have put into this game with my previous accounts, probably over 2000+, it was the best game I had ever played at the time when I had a PC which had to turn lower video quality on and play it at 640x480. Hours of endless fun owning the leaderboards with the unbelievably OP FG42 Sniper. The community is also very experienced some of which date back to when it was released in 2003, and most of which are adult and don't blast their mics saying they just hit a noscope. Unlike modern mainstream FPS games it's usually a 1-2 shot kill with a decent rifle at reasonable ranges, (e.g M1 Garand) and 2-4 rounds with the likes of a Thompson or MP40 at short-medium range. Players coming now from modern FPS titles perhaps found this in a sale will have a steep learning curve with gunplay and the low time to kill by todays traditions. The satisfaction of mounting an MG42 with a bipod at the back of an alleyway gunning down dozens of men rushing through ending upwith a massacre and pile of 15 dead bodies from a single MG ammo box, sensational. Or being that one guy who has the OP position in the building that overlooks the central area of the map picking off every last troop that runs across the battlefield with a sniper rifle the whole round. This game is and always will be one of the closest games to my heart and I still play it almost everyday today. I highly suggest you to pick this up in a sale sometime or purchase it for the full price if you're willing to, you won't regret it.

The rifle, the flag, and "The War."

Day of Defeat is the World-War 2 GoldSrc game. Realistic, gritty, and even authentic, its sincerely one thing... badass.

Personally, I love it, I recommend it, and - I play it. Its not nesscarily the most popular game, but for those in Day of Defeat: Source, and GoldSrc old-timers, its a name we all remember, and don't want to forget.

But, that's just my opinion,
Devin
