Cult of the Wind is RELEASED! - Version 1.0

It took a while, but Cult of the Wind reached Full Release on July 1st! The game is now full-featured and fully playable, with new official maps, a level editor, and Workshop support.

Cult of the Wind SOARS to Beta 4 with Mac and Linux support!

-Added tentative Mac and Linux builds. May have some issues.
-New map: Ars Volatus.
-Two new clothing items: Combat Boots and Party Dress.
-Updated Skytop and Dry Lock with several fixes.
-Numerous gameplay tweaks.
-Fixed memory leak.
-Added support for Xbox 360 controller on Windows.
-Sun can no longer be deleted.
-Fixed Workshop issues on 32-bit systems.
-Fixed killbox not working on shielded players.

Cult of the Wind is a game about people who pretend to be airplanes.

"In an unknown time and place, a cult that worships the wreckage of ancient airplanes gathers to mimic the dogfights of old. With the peak of humanity far behind, their world is a mausoleum to a lush and verdant Art Deco past."

In Cult of the Wind, players compete and cooperate in ritualistic multi-player human dogfights, complete with imaginary weapons, pretend explosions, and airplane noises made with their mouths. Shower your friends in a hail of imaginary bullets and proclaim, "I got you! You have to lie down," to which they respond, "Nuh-uh, I have a shield." You argue about whether or not airplanes can have shields, meanwhile some other guy does a cannonball onto your head while whistling. It's great.

With an intuitive point-and-click level editor you'll be able to craft new levels or modify existing ones, then immediately share them with anyone on a server, even if you aren't the host. You can also craft a personalized appearance for your character with numerous articles of clothing and more.

Как словить приход не употребляя вредные вещества? Все очень просто,нужно сыграть в эту игру.
Это вам не ср*ный Вар тандер,тут серьезные пилоты времен второй мировой.
А также в качестве бонуса,эта игра предлагает вам ощютить себя в роли трансформера,превращяясь в самолетики.

Ну а если серьезно то об игре можно очень мало сказать,серверов почти нет....Но мне его хватило чтоб получить дозу "упоротогена"
Еще из минусов,это отсутсвие игры с ботами. Если людей нет,то хоть дайте с ии поиграть :(

А так,весело.

Простите мой французский, но это лютый финиш.
Авиасимулятор в дурдоме - управляем персонажем, воображающим, что он самолёт, ведущий воздушный бой с такими же уё..., простите, альтернативно одарёнными личностями.
Онлайн пустой, ботов нет. Кому и зачем эта игра нужна - загадка.
Интересно, купил ли её хоть кто-нибудь отдельно, не в бандле?

No one plays it now it's out of Early Access because it isn't finished.
I once played a match with three other people, that was a good day.
The game could be fun if more people played it, as of now it is literally a graveyard.

On the other hand I'm wearing a robe and box car plane with a propeller hat.

Before I begin I would like to point out I made this video on day one when it was very much early access with a very limited map and other features range.

At the bottom of the written review is a video which shows multiplayer gameplay of the main map some weapons and upgrades if you wanted to get a very quick glance that may be best for you!

So when I first saw this game I wasn't quite sure what to expect from it; I thought the concept was very interesting and I liked the cult story behind it where these people basically worship old recked airplanes. If you want to find out a little more in regards to the features then you should check out this guide:

Visually the game has a very basic simple cartoony visual style. This isn't necessarily a bad thing and helps it to fit in with the Art Deco style the developers were trying to adopt, the Art Deco style is indisputable with the various stereotypical Art Deco looks around the map(s). The clean look of the game helps you focus on the targets such as enemy fighters or flags. Graphics could generally be improved with increased polygon counts on various items around the maps.

Upon reading the guide for the game I was expecting the weapon noises to sound like people saying "pew pew pew" as we all did when we were kids. I was dissapointed to hear that the sounds are actually just ordinary stock shooting sounds not made with a human voice at all. I think this is something that has been overlooked and could possibly have removed some of the anticipated charm

Unfortunately on release the game only has one and a half maps. I say 1.5 because there is a finished and prototype map. The prototype map looks like something quickly thrown together just to get something else shipped with the game upon release. I find it odd that if the game has a map editor they couldn't get a few more maps finished before releasing it on Steam.

Temple of the Wind is the finished map and is quite pleasing on the eye. Generally it doesn't give you a feel of a cult setting, it seems far too nice, but due to it being a deserted temple you can get the impression that all isn't quite what it seems. It has 3 different levels to it all of which are accessible via staircases/elevators or jumping or with various speed / jump upgrades.

Sky-Top Prototype is a half finished map with no textures. It works with a capture the flag game mode where there is a neutral flag at one end that both teams have to run / jump their way to and then bring it back to the base. It still needs some work but I imagine the devs are working on this as I type.

Weapons / Upgrades
There is a nice selection of weapons and upgrades that can be picked up from various "kites" within the maps. These provide power ups such as extra jumping abilities or extra speed from quicker or more powerful weapons and one really insane rail gun. I think the weapons are fairly nicely balanced and I look forward to finding all the ways to counter each weapon / upgrade!

Game Modes
There appears to only be one / two game mode(s) so far in Cult of the Wind and this is Capture the Flag combined with deathmatch. Neither is seperate from the other so technically I feel there is only one game mode thus far.
It is possible to seperate the two game modes during server set up by inflating the amount of flags you require and reducing the amount of kills needed to win and wice versa. This isn't a perfect set up and it would be nice to see some more game modes in the near future.

Player Base & Connectivity
From my experience so far there isn't too many people playing the game just yet, but of course it is brand new and this will probably change quite soon, at least I hope so. I have managed to get into a server with just me and my friend but also both of us got into a server with other people without any issues which was very reassuring. It is definitely a game designed to be played with multiple people in the server all shooting at each other.

As I mentioned at the beginning this review was written on day one with only 2 hours experience of gameplay. I'm sure there will be many more updates coming out soon. I will recommend this game based on the anticipation of what is to come in the future. I think if you are going to buy the game try to get some of your friends on board too! The game is looking good and I hope more maps come out in the very near future!
