If you're wondering, "Do I need to buy any of Child of Light's DLC?" Well... no, not really, but this is the only one that offers any new content, and it's usually $0.75 or so on sale.

This DLC will add a short quest to the game that grants Golem to your party on completion (about 90 minutes into the game ) The quest itself takes about 2 minutes so it does not give any siginifcant gameplay value .I would recommend buying this DLC if you just started the game so Golem level is similar to yours . His level is preset and will not scale with your current level when you get him .

Golem has the highest physical attack stat of any character in the game but he gets less turns because of how slow he is on timeline .

His skill set includes:

-High physical damage against single or multiple targets.
-Self Regeneration
-Bumping Dark Creatures back in timeline.
-Stuning Dark Creatures
-Slowing Dark Creatures

Note: Golem's Stun,Slow and Bump Dark creatures also works against creatures that are not dark ( not vulnerable to light magic ) Skills that are not Light Magic and refer to dark creatures seem to work on all enemies . I don't know why that is but "Dark Creature Tag" is not consistent .

You don't really need this character but this game is awesome so I was happy to get more content for it . Also Golem gets some text interactions between him and other party members throughout the game . ( It feels like he was cut from the game to be sold as DLC unless they were thinking ahead like that ) I got this sweet game dirt cheap so whatever

Like I said though . Buy this DLC only if you starting the game while you actually can get use of another party member .

The Golem is a tank type of character who has quite the personality. He is very strong, can HIT really hard, and take up damage like there is no tomorrow. This guy has helped me get through numerous battles and I say if you got the money or if its especially on sale BUY HIM!!!! He will make the gameplay go buy much smoother and you gotta due is complete a gathering quest in the thorn tree to get by far on the best usuable characters in the game!!!

Bought it on sale, totally worth is. It is a mini quest where you have to find parts of a golem. Once you found all parts, a new companion joins you. I used him as a tank.

This DLC adds a little side-quest at some point in the game (quite early) where you need to find and collect the different parts of the golem in a forest full of thorns to fix him. After that he will join your party.

The Golem has very good stats. Powerful (high Attack/Magic), sturdy (high Defense/Magic Defense) and above average Critical and Dodge stats. However, it is very, very, very slow. With only a speed stat of 15 (all other characters ranges from 24 to 30 with an exception of one of 22), this greatly cripples its potential as speed is very important in this game. Despite its great offensive stats, his DPS suffers horribly from its speed. The Golem also has (very) long casting times for his skills, which makes it more likely for him to get interrupted and get bumped back on the timeline which is worse than usual with his speed.

Despite some people calling him a "tank" (probably because of his good defences), he's not a tank. A tank is someone who can cover its party member and sponge hits in his stead (there is already someone else with this role). The Golem can't do that. He's just a very slow, sturdy "hard hitter".

The Golem also doesn't fit in any niche. His skills are picked from the other characters' skill trees with little tweaks here and there. His most useful skill (50% slow debuff attack for 2 turns) is also copied from another character (who has 30 speed!). He has one unique passive skill, which is "10%-30% chance of bumping an enemy back regardless of its spot on the timeline". A great passive if it wasn't for its, again, terrible speed.

The Golem also comes with dialogue and interaction with the other party members for little more "character bonding" but other than that it doesn't add anything to the story.

With this DLC also comes a unique oculi: Erin's Stone. It grants +2% Critical on the weapon slot, +2% Dodge on the armor slot and 50% HP recovery if the wearer died and stayed dead until the end of the battle. The effects of this stone is unique, as no other oculi has any of these three effects. However, I havent' found any use out of this stone myself. There are much better offensive oculi in the game (up to 40% (physical) attack power or up to 25% spell power). I would rather have 20%/35% physical or magical damage reduction than depend on 2% more Dodge. The third effect is ridiculous as it's only useful if you're dying a lot and the game isn't difficult if you know what you're doing.

Conclusion:
I've only used the Golem for its "50% slow debuff" skill in the beginning until someone else took over its job. Besides that I don't find him useful in battles at all purely due to its speed. Doesn't add much to the story as well.
Get it if you have money to spare and still want the Golem anyway. If you're short on money, don't bother as you won't miss much.

This DLC adds no new story to the game. There is a simple collect four things to get a new character to add to the team and there are already enough people on the team. Not really needed. I loved this game too.

There are enough party members to not use as is. A slow tank isn't my play style, especially when i keep getting stun blocked by enemy attacks. I'm slightly disapointed with this DLC.

What gets me though, is that the land his parts are found in exists as part of the map. The crevices where he is found are likely unaltered by this DLC. This makes me feel as if this DLC was cut content for the purpose of selling.
