I really wish there was something in between yes and no but well, I will have to say no.
The reason is simply because of price and content, this game cost's the same price as Subnautica and yet it does not have anywhere near as much content to boot.
Subnautica is a game that I highly recommend but far sky isn't. If far sky goes on sale for a cheap price then sure go buy it but if it doesn't, get Subnautica instead.
Also think about this. Subnautica is in early access and far sky is "finished" and yet Subnautica has way more content, just let your brain process that.

EDIT: I found out that the game is actually cheaper than Subnautica now? I guess that's good?

Not recommending this game. After a short while, gameplay becomes boring. And the devs abandoned the game, don't waste money on this game.

Very relaxing, and a refreshing change to fast-paced shooters, but you get bored easily and it's annoying to have to go back for 'oxygen' every 2 minutes. Ugh.

5/10, borderline would not recommend.

Ive had a great experience with Farky. The game itself, doesn't have much replayability and can be completed in an hour if you instantly go on your voyage to find submarine parts.

I tried to play the game as much as I could before completing it so I could enjoy and 'soak' up the parts of it. I honestly can't really see myself going back to play the game again but for what is was, it offered me great fun.

There are a lot of things to improve and the price of $10 is honestly not worth it from the amount of gameplay you get.
If you plan on buying Farsky, I recommend you wait for it to go on sale. It gets down to $2.50 and that's the most I'd pay for this game.

I agree with both the good and bad reviews of this game. I like it because once you get the hang of it, it's super chill survival/adventure. I like the music/ambience/enviroment. Once I got the character past the inital startup, it was far too easy to just collect the pieces and be on my merry way... Unless you want to collect the resources for a new base (on top of the existing ones), which I didn't bother. Bought the game on sale and beat the inital survival mode in six hours; haven't messed with the sandbox mode. It's a chill game I like playing to experince the underwater enviroment, atmosphere, and do a little fishing. Hardcore survivalists probably won't appreciate the initial game play as much because it's not terribly difficult until you beat the introductory level.

That being said, there are some glitches, while not major, are annoying. I'm on a Mac, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it might, which is why I'm mentioning it.
The screen glitches out in between loading screens.
The game doesn't record the time I've spent in-game, and has only recorded the few minutes I've spent in menus before launching gameplay.
The menus are funny... if you're in a menu, you can't just click back to another main button, you have to exit out of the menu you're in and go back to the main one to select a different menu.

Its ok, however Subnautica is so much better.
Its a good idea and if it was developed further I may play it again.
Until its furthered in its development I have to not reccomend (sorry devs).

I used to play this game in both the Alpha & Beta stages. It had much potentional; howbeit when the game was Greenlit, everything had been rushed and from what I believed to be.... incompleted. Through out the time things were being added & taken away. Many of the things taken away were very valuable pieces that would've brought this game to life. The bosses, the oil resource, the leveling up, & etc were taken out. I hope Tim Speckler the developer would complete this game just as it rightfully deserves to be completed. As for comparing to Subnautica, well Subnautica had a whole crew whereas Farysky was a one man army deal, plus Farsky came out before Subnautica. Well, that's my two cents.

I bought this game years ago, and ever since then nothing new has been added. Subnautica is a lot better, just get that. The devs dropped this game pretty much. Really wish I could refund to get my $10 back that I spent so long ago.

Crappy gameplay, dumb sharks and other lame horrors await you in this virtual world. Subnautica has a better story that isnt even complete. Its about an hour to complete adventure if your not a scardy cat like me. Go buy Subnautica for a completer exspireince and about 345 hours of FUN! FarSky sucks...

I didn't play Subnautica as many reviews suggested, but i think this game should get a chance.

So, FarSky is an underwater survival game. It's pretty unique in this genre and although the game is pretty short, it's a good and fun one.

The game tells the story of Nathan, who had his submarine broken in the middle of the sea.
And now he needs to survive the depth of the sea by eating, building bases and fighting dangerous creatures

You have to build bases underwater where you can refill your oxygen tank, plant/harvest seeds/food, craft weapons and develop items.

Weapons are very limited, you can have a combat knife and a harpoon gun with different types of arrows.

Your most useful item is your Drill, with it you can loot minerals and craft items and base parts with these. And these minerals can be found at different locations and their rarity depends on the type.

You can also use extractors and place wherever you like to drill minerals so fast.

Throughout the sea you will encounter many different fishes and when killed, you can cook their meat for health and reduce hunger. Your enemies here are Sharks, Swordfish, Anglerfish and other dangerous marine creatures, plus there are Krakens too guarding super rare Crystals.

As for the objective of the Adventure Mode, You need to find 9 parts spread in different direction in the deep to fix your submarine and go back to your home.

These parts locations sometimes bring challenge, as they are all placed in location with high number of hostile creatures.

And there is a Sandbox mode and Survival mode beside the Main Adventure one.

Graphics are colorful and nice, but the textures are extremely pixelated.

And by the way, the game runs on Java, if you don't know what that means or never played Minecraft, it means the game might runs slowly and needs a quite good PC to run smoothly, or turn off the graphics settings to the optimal performance.

Lastly, I recommend this game on sale, since it's very short and might gets old or boring when you craft the best items.

So get it on sale if you are interesting in Underwater Minecraft-like game!

So glad I bought this (70% off) and only wasted 2.99. Usually I like open world games, but this is just boring.. Also, the controls are really poor, not even joystick support. Reminds me of one of those old, poor quality windows games from yesteryear.
