Patch Notes PC 1.03 - Nov 05 2015

Character Updates

A series of adjustments (both nerfs and buffs) to make the character more responsive to skilled play, and less overwhelming from unskilled play. Gattlign and slam now have layers where you can perform well, or poorly with them.

-Dead zone fixed : could not return fire for 18 frames, after being hit
-Gordo now required to accelerate crank on his gattling, instead of starting at full fire rate he now starts firing slow and build over time. A skilled gordo needs to “earn” firing at his opponent at max rate
-Max fire rate decreased
-Slight increase on dmg per bullet
-Gordos rage (slam) cooldown increased from 5secs to 6secs Gordo can now recover from his own slam animation in 50 frames instead of 84 frames allowing him more escape options in 3v3
-Molotov fire does not deal dmg for the first tick, to compensate for latency and make sure players dont receive dmg before the flames go off
-Molotov now deals dmg every .5 sec instead of every 1.0 secs, to compensate for the first tick not dealing dmg
-Flames Dmg volumes shrunk to better align with Fire FX. (was extending past the fire fx before)

Was victim to over effective stunning

-Gunman Stun time fixed, (reduced 30 frames) to be consistent with other outlaws
-Gunman Knife impact fixed (reduced) to be consistent with other outlaws
-Gunmans Badge no longer equips a mysterious knife

General push to decrease deserters ability to abuse high mobility techniques over and over. A fix to deserters snipe move, now properly causing stuns.

- Adrenaline cooldown increased to 20 sec. from 15 sec
- Adrenaline duration decreased to 6 sec from 7 sec
- Snipe not stunning bug fix. Players would slide around while falling down. Deserters snipe shot now stuns players
-Snipe move minimum distance now starts at 3 meters, instead of 7 meters. He was getting the ability to instantly stun someone at 7 meters, he now needs to charge
- Increased charge time on Impale slightly to prevent Impale Locks.
-Stamina recovery decreased, to reduce his mobility. Deserter still has 3 stamina units, but using them has a higher cost
- Collision system fixes to make sure deserter cannot shoot people into world Geo with Bayonet

Wolf arrows are now more reliable, but adjusted to be less spammable.

- Wolfs arrows are now more precise & cleaner to hit. Arrow velocity increased, to decrease from the time they are launched to when they hit their target (making things more accurate)
- Wolfs consecutive hit Crit Dmg Bonus increased by 5 units
- Wolf basic arrow fire rate slowed down, to reduce toe to toe combat & Crit spamming and keep crits skill based. This compensates for the cleaner accuracy

-Tomahawk velocity increased, to make his throws more accurate

Mad Trapper
More responsive throwing

- Trappers throw time more responsive. Trap will leave hand 12 frames sooner

- Dynamite now leaves his hands much faster on release
- Throwing trajectory has been corrected, so he can properly clear low objects in front of him. Before he would randomly clip objects in front of him making his dynamite unreliable when standing behind objects

General Features and Fixes

- Movesheets now available to view in Pregame, Lobby, and Character creation
- Gameplay coutndown now starts immediately. There was a deadzone of 3 seconds you had to wait before countdown which has been streamlined out
- Posse leader now receives 10% dmg (instead of 5%) for each kill in posse mode, to add incentive for combat instead of running
- Posse leader REMOVED from random search in 3v3. People can still vote for it specifically, but feedback was that random was better suited between deathmatch/domination
- fix for crow thumbnail showing in find friends dialogue instead of phantom
- fix for bounty penalty for leaving Arcade Mode
- Aesthetic fixes for colors in “elite” seasonal leaderboard
- misc fixes for some scenarios causing “stuck on launch” at matchmaking screen
- Added Option to "Start Match with AI" to Rookie Mode and Private Mode

Patch Notes - Oct 23 2015 pc 1.002 - Even Playing Field

Hey everybody! We are happy to drop in our 2nd patch since launch. This one is more major, and addreses a few larger scale items from community feedback. Thanks to the community, and Id also like to thank and my teammates for working hard to get these changes implimented so quickly.

Stay tuned for the next patch!

- Stats : All characters will start with 12 perk points, they can assign as they wish

- Players will no longer earn perk points as they level up

- Players will not lose bounty any more. If they ended a match with a negative score, their earnings will be zero and not negative

- Match Reshuffle - If teams are unbalanced, the game will redistribute players to reduce any skill differences where applicable. Premade teams stay together.

- Grit alternative Skins can now be unlocked via Barter Coins!

- Gordo - Fixed bug where Gordo could start running randomly at his max speed, (instead of his Min speed), at the start of acceleration. This was making him incredibly fast

- added a tunable cooldown timer for Gordos Ground Slam. Initially set to 4 seconds to match Blind cooldown, and Phantom Whips trike cooldown.

- Deserter can no longer charge his Cold stare (Snipe) while invisible in cover. Charging it will release him from cover

- bug fix for deserters heal not being interruptible if player holds down heal button

- reduced duration of “Boots” powerup

- reduced the initial default volume of music (won’t affect current installs)

- Moved spawnpoint on mines level so you don’t run into cart

- fix for a bug where wolf being able to CRIT hit if she rolls AFTER firing

- fix for Wolf girl turbo fire exploit caused by weapon switching

- Fixes for Crashes entering “Rank mode” with steam names with unusual characters

- fix for “Nice Bounty “ rewards not activating achievements when causing a character to level up

- Support added to Ban players/cheaters

- Matador “Blind” no longer will use stamina. instead it is set to a 4 second cooldown. This will keep blind a “skilled strike” (not spammable) while freeing up stamina for Matadors Pounce, evades, and sword slashes. It also means her Blind/Evade combo will only cost 1 stamina isntead of 2, making it more viable

- Mines level art optimization to increase FPS

- Fort level art optimization to increase FPS

En vue isométrique, le jeu se joue en équipe et se démarque des jeux de combats ou des MOBA auxquels vous avez pu jouer. Le combat est rythmé, précis et sans merci, engendrant un environnement compétitif où votre habileté sera cruciale pour gagner. Il n'y a pas d'attaque automatique ou d'assistance superflue – vous devrez compter sur votre adresse ! La "Most Wanted Edition" de Secret Ponchos fut présentée à EVO 2015 cette année, et fut particulièrement bien accueillie par la communauté des joueurs compétitifs.

La "Most Wanted Edition" apporte une version plus fournie de Secret Ponchos sur Steam. Switchblade Monkeys, les développeurs indépendants derrière Secret Ponchos (c'est nous !), a travaillé avec l'aide des joueurs en accès anticipé pour ajouter du contenu et des fonctionnalités supplémentaires, et est très fier de présenter la version finale officielle.

CHAQUE TIR RELÈVE DE L'ADRESSE ! Vous pensez avoir une chance en compétition ? Les tirs d'adresse sont ceux que vous devrez effectuer vous-mêmes, en faisant preuve de précision et en utilisant l'espace et avec un bon timing. Il n'y a aucune attaque ou visée automatique pour vous assister. Secret Ponchos est un jeu dans lequel vous ne pourrez compter que sur votre adresse, vos réflexes, votre timing et votre précision. Secret Ponchos n'a pas été conçu comme un MOBA, plutôt comme un jeu de combat qui encourage l'action en équipe rapide.

Jeu de combat en équipe, la combinaison de choc. Formez un gang typique d'un western spaghetti, composé de différents types de hors-la-loi, et lancez-vous dans des affrontements intense pour descendre vos rivaux.

Complexité du combat : tout a un coût. Les joueurs novices commenceront probablement par courir et tirer, mais la complexité du combat permettra à un hors-la-loi doué de contrôler le combat. Le jeu propose une grande variété d'attaques, mais chaque choix et chaque action a un coût. Un esquive pourra vous permettre d'atteindre une position rapidement mais coûte de l'endurance dont vous pourriez avoir besoin pour fuir. Chaque balle compte car vous devez recharger manuellement. Une attaque lourde vous laisse exposé à une contre-attaque si vous manquez. Vous devrez être capable de prendre des décisions rapides pour survivre.
Fonctionnalités principales

10 Hors-la-loi uniques : Chaque hors-la-loi apporte son style de jeu, ses armes et ses avantages uniques à votre équipe. Ils sont tous très différents, autant dans leur apparence que dans leur style de jeu.

Ligne de mire : Mettez-vous à couvert derrière des obstacles pour sortir de la ligne de mire de vos ennemis. En vous mettant à couvert, vous deviendrez invisible pour vos ennemis, et vous pourrez leur tendre une embuscade, les prendre à revers, ou vous regrouper. La ligne de mire et la possibilité de se mettre à couvert intègre l'environnement au combat.

Mode de combat : Ce jeu de combat permet des affrontement entre gangs, ce qui le différencie des autres jeux de combat. Il inclut également des duels à 1 vs 1 pour permettre des combats plus personnels.

Adversaires IA & mode arcade : Le mode arcade est un tournoi simple contre une liste d'adversaires contrôlés par l'ordinateur (1 vs 1). Une excellente façon de prendre en main le Hors-la-loi de son choix. Ajoutez des ennemis contrôlés par l'ordinateur à vos parties en ligne (mode non classé uniquement) pour améliorer votre adresse.

Secret Ponchos tries and succeeds to bring something that feels fresh to the table: great gameplay with a few different game modes and maps, strong and unique spaghetti western theme, well balanced and designed characters and a caring community.
The devs are really active and friendly (you can easily find them on the community chat and boards), and the game is regularly patched.

Right now, I think the major issue is the lack of players at certain hours (obviously depending from your region) that can make quite hard finding matches at times. Also, the menus/UI are quite counterintuitive and mostly keyboard only (for now).

Long story short, this is a great game that only needs a bigger playerbase. If it strikes your fancy you won't regret buying it, expecially if you can bring your own posse to the fray.

Absolutely recommend this game. This game's visual style is magnificent but i have to say the music is just top notch. For an indie title like this the soundtracks have an incredible vibe to them and they surely live up to the western theme. Cannot repeat it enough, the music is pure high quality candy for the ears and brain. I would even go so far and say that the soundtracks used in this game are better than most triple A titles nowadays.
The core gameplay mechanic is just fantastic, its fast paced pvp action where u challenge yourself all the time and try to perfect your moves with a character. You definitely will need good reflexes or otherwise you might get rekt really hard. Other than that, i dont see any noteworthy negative aspects except that its playerbase needs to grow. A few bugs here and there but thats ok, they get fixed fast, since the devs seem to work with their heart on this game and thats what makes it even better. You get the best stuff possible from the devs. Its rare to see this type of relationship between a game and its developers, so definitely worth supporting these guys. Keep up the good work and see you ingame!

Great competetive game. Makes you think, makes you try, makes you learn, makes you work as a team. Add here the awesome western universe and you can't wish of any better.

TL;DR - Get this game right now

Secret Ponchos is an intense, fast paced multiplayer experience with a cartoonish western asthetic. Play casual or ranked in a semi objecive based isometric brawler. Interesting mechanics are unique to the fascinating character selection. The moderate selection of maps are exciting to run through when people actually vote for a map and game mode.The only time you'll find yourself bored is waiting for others to play with (community is very small) so buy this game and buy it for your freinds!

Extremely well executed core gameplay and a great hook, the game suffers severely from playerbase issues and poor pc optimisation.
