Summer 2016 Update

This update spent a long time coming. After many iterations, the parry has finally reached a form that is fair to high and low level players on low and high speed. An array of smaller tweaks are also included.

Dice
After the first year of post-release, I've been more or less hands off in terms of character balance. I believe it's a good thing that these things don't constantly change. After consideration I have decided to make an exemption for Dice. He received some tweaks that make his special move faster and a little more versatile.

Parry
Parrying at low speed now allows the victim to live, but grants full energy to the initiator. This allows specials to be used to guarantee ball control after release. At high speed, parries become a certain kill instead.

Just activating the parry increases the speed by 3 now. Which makes it harder to constantly spam (as you'll lose the ball over time due to the speed). And can be used as a tool to speed up the ball more without doing a more predictable smash.

Change log:
- Parry hitpause delay scales from 40 to 80 speed, 29 frames to 0
- Additional hitpause delay is added if the player is parried from behind
- Serve Auto-parry knockback is reduced to make it certain-kill
- A successful parry completely fills up the energy meter now
- Special moves can be performed after a successful parry, but will be activated at the end of the hitpause
- Parry knockback stun releases 3 frames earlier when pushed against a wall
- Dice's special ball bounce duration is reduced from 16 to 8 frames
- Dice can now choose to release a bunted ball from the ground by holding 'down'
- Reduced clash knockback
- Endlessly extending parry hitpause bug fixed
- Player release before ball release on parry bug fixed
- Latch sprite fix on taunt
- Switch sprite fix on various frames

This is way more fun than any other game. At this point it might possibly be more addictive than TF2 now.

No matter if you're singleplayer or Multiplayer this game is cool. Yet... It doesn't really have much different to do. All you can change is: Charecters, Ball, Ball acceleration speed, and a couple other things, that doesn't really matter, like how long you can play a round. You're usually already done in that time... Still recommended

Lethal League is a competative baseball/dodgeball hybrid that supports up to four players in one match. With each strike of the ball, the speed is doubled, sometimes even quadrupled (and in serious cases, maxed at one million). Maybe you and a few friends sit on the couch and hit the ball back and forth a few times. Maybe it's you and a stranger online. Regardless, every hit and dodge are anxiety and adrenaline riddled. With more than four friends who've enjoyed this game with me, we've never experienced any rage or upsetting losses, only awe at how insane it is to bunt the ball at such ridiculous speeds and then pelt it right back at the poor soul who bashed it towards you in the first place. Each character has a special ability that makes the matches all that much more interesting once they've filled their blue bar. Beware Dice and Candy Man. There's also an interesting secret character which you can play as in local matches; I'll let you google the code for yourself.

My friends and I give this game a 10/10 for competative shenanigans and I give it a 9/10 for the minor network bugs.

Worth the price, but I'm glad I snagged it on the humblebundle for a buck.

Imagine smashing a ball faster than the Millenium Falcon into your friend's face. This is that game. 10/10. Would smash again.

I feel as if this game is how gods are created. Once you realize that the ball has hit over 50,000 MPH and you bunt it and turn the tables then you just simply rise into the sky.

Lethal League takes a lot of inspirations from Super Smash Brothers, this is obvious by there being drop-in and drop-out multiplayer menu screens and the announcer shouting "GAME" at the end of each match. But Lethal League is actually more similar to a traditional 2D fighter than Smash Brothers.

Each of the characters has their own special moves, and even their own hit-boxes for each swing they do. Lethal League is super fun playing locally with friends. It's a game that's especially made to generate hype. It's VERY simple to play, so even friends who aren't that into videogames can enjoy it, unlike a lot of fighting games.

I would definitely recommend it.

Lethal League is a devilishly simple fighting game where you hit a ball at your enemies. Said ball speeds up each time you hit it, making each round become real hectic real quick. Aside from the addictive easy-to-play but hard-to-master gameplay, Lethal League is also insanely stylish with some downright freaky characters, settings right out of a grungy anime, and a killer soundtrack.

I highly recommend the game because it's fun and challenging, almost like a demented virtual sport. However, I would never pay the full price for it because it's quite a sparse game. You can play matches against the computer, you can play online matches, or you can take on a 10 fight challenge where each character gets progressively harder. That's pretty much it, other than practice mode. You do unlock outfits for your characters as you play and "level up", which is a great touch. But I can't help feeling that there could have been something more to the game, especially for the price tag. The creators kept it simple: simple but cool characters, simple settings, and a very simple game. That's all cool. But then they kept it simple with the content too, providing as few modes as possible. Usually games based on short and simple events (Super Smash Brothers and Mario party games for example) offer a variety of modes to play in and also some record keeping so that you can see what exactly you did. The fact that Lethal League provides as little of that as possible makes it almost feel like you are playing the beta version of a game.

All that said, I love this game. I just think you aught to get it on a deep discount, or in a bundle. It would be awesome if the devs decided to add some content in an update, or maybe even make a Lethal League 2 which kept the core game the same but added more to the game.

A pretty good fighting game, has single player and multiplayer that are both feel about the same which can be very rare for a fighting game.
