Rocket League Brings $100,000 in Prize Pools to DreamHack this Summer

Need more Rocket League esports when school’s out for summer? DreamHack, Psyonix, and Twitch have you covered!

We are proud to announce that official Rocket League tournaments are coming to two of the biggest esports events of the season -- DreamHack Summer in Jönköping, Sweden from June 18-20, and DreamHack Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia from July 21-23.

Both DreamHack Summer and DreamHack Atlanta will have 32-team open registration 3v3 tournaments (with the possibility for more team slots depending on demand). All tournaments will be played on PC and each comes with a $50,000 prize pool. This is your chance to play against some of the best Rocket League pros in the world, and win some major prize money in the process!

Both tournaments will be broadcast live on Twitch, so be on the lookout for channel details as we grow closer to the event. Expect more information regarding signups and rules relatively soon.

Exclusive In-Game Item Coming for RLCS Attendees

Only ten days remain until the RLCS Season Three World Championship, our biggest season finale ever!

We are bringing a bunch of surprises (and special guests) to the World Championship next month, some of which we can’t talk about until the stage is set, but we have one epic bonus for everyone coming to the show in Los Angeles June 2-4. Each ticket holder will receive an EXCLUSIVE in-game item, to be delivered before our next major update goes live this Summer!

One set of the ten-spoke “Decennium Pro” Wheels will be given to each World Championship ticket holder. Once we are close to our next update, each ticket holder will receive an email with a code that can be redeemed inside of Rocket League, the same way you redeem in-game codes included with select Rocket League Pull-Back Racers. What if you bought tickets as a group with friends or family? We have you covered, and we will email the ticket buyer with enough codes to cover each ticket purchased. Check out a bonus image of the Wheels below!

Interested in the wheels and everything else the RLCS Season Three World Championship has to offer? Tickets are still available, and we’ll see you in Los Angeles!

SteamOS and Mac Beta Versions
As of September 8, 2016, the SteamOS and Mac versions of Rocket League® were released to "Beta." SteamOS is the only "officially" supported Linux client, though other Linux platforms may be compatible. Likewise, the Mac version may or may not work on older systems with an integrated video solution and a dedicated GPU is highly recommended (Macs from 2013 or after should be okay). Mac system requirements are as follows:

  • OS: MacOS X 10.8.5
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 2.4 GHz
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: OpenGL 4.1 - ATI Radeon HD 5670, NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M, Intel HD Graphics 4000 or Iris Pro Graphics

Be sure and check ongoing patch notes for SteamOS and Mac beta updates going forward. Listed below are all known issues for both versions of the game as of September 8, 2016:

  • The correct store page for DLC purchased through the Showroom doesn’t show up for Big Picture users. This is a Steam client-specific issue that Valve will be fixing in an upcoming patch
  • There are occasional crashes when exiting from a match to the main menu
  • The statues in Urban Central do not display correctly
  • You may experience intermittent blurring issues
  • (Mac Only) Xbox 360 controllers won’t work. You will need a third-party driver solution to use them
  • (Mac Only) Steam Controller is not natively supported
