About This Game

Follow Turner, a rebel bunny rabbit with impressive combat skills in his quest to find those
responsible for slaughtering his village. Uncover a far-reaching conspiracy involving the corrupt
leaders of the rabbit republic and the wolves of the nearby lands.

Streamlined Combat: Gone are the days of combo memorization and button mashing.
Lugaru uses a context-sensitive combat system to put all the moves at your finger tips. It’s
up to you to choose the right move at the right time and think your way through the fights.

Open-Ended Strategy: Each level presents you with an environment and a series of enemies.
How you choose to defeat your adversaries is entirely up to you. Storm in from the front and
fight everyone at once or ambush your foes one at a time with stealth attacks.

Ragdoll Physics: Not only does striking your enemies do damage, but so does colliding with
the environment once you’ve knocked them off their feet. Nothing does more damage than a
swift rabbit kick that sends the enemy hurtling into a stone wall.

Environmental Detail: Factors like wind direction and whether or not you remembered to clean
the blood off your knife affect your ability to sneak up on the enemy undetected.
Brutal AI: Enemies in Lugaru prefer unfair fights. Expect them to shout for back up, attack in
groups, and exploit any superior weaponry they can find.

Moddability: Turning on Lugaru’s debug mode gives you access to the map editor so you can
build your own levels, campaigns and mods. Debug mode also enables crazy cheats that allow
players to fly, have infinite health, explode enemies’ heads and set themselves on fire further
igniting anyone who comes too close.

New HD Textures: The original Lugaru has gotten a more modern, graphical makeover while still
staying true to the game’s spirit. Special thanks to Tim Soret for his HD texture pack.

This game is one of a kind. It has solid gameplay and is actually pretty brutal, emotionally. It still stands as one of my favorite games. Can't wait for the newest installment Overgrowth. Keep up the good work David Rosen.

This game is underrated as shiet. I mean. Have you ever heard of it? No?

Well then.

This game is a hidden jewel. I can't believe it was overlooked.
Well.
Maybe because of how much skill you need for it.

This game is like fighting an actual person. You need fast reflexes and a way to take them down easy

Either if its stealth, or brute force, you need ways. And sometimes the game makes you change your tactics and get used to new ones.

And you need to be VERY calm during all of this. Spamming isn't an option.

But still. I can't believe Overgrowth is praised so much, and this is an outcast.

KungFu rabbit from times when pixels were large and distributives - small.
It is a little game, and it looks even older than it is... But it doesn't matter at all. The game offers experience comparable to nothing else. It is a hardcore test of your will and skill.
You play as a fighter rabbit who is securing his island from anything dangerous, bare-handedly. In basic terms, it's a 3D beat'em up. Fighting system is simple, but very addictive. Because of this - I highly recommend "Lugaru" to all who have a taste for old games and especially in fightings and beat'em ups...
8/10 dead rabbits

update: It has a little disadvantage: every time I play the game my internet connection is cutting off itself. Probably for the reason that I shouldn't be distracted when fighting to death.

Not my cup of tea. You are a large kangaroo hopping around beating up others. And thats about it.
Would not recommend.

I apologize devs if I played an earlier, crappy version, but I did not enjoy this. I did play for several hours because I wanted to give it a chance, and I figured there was more to the game than I knew. But no, what you see is what you get.

Lugaru really grossed me out.
It's a bunny martial arts game that starts by introducing you to a village, for the sole purpose of the emotional reaction of having those characters killed off by bandits offscreen. You pretty quickly run into bandits that remark on the fun they had with a cfamily member.

I felt like it was a pretty ♥♥♥♥ty narrative arc to throw at a person and I have never loaded it up since. I'm hoping folk can learn about the scene before they encounter it. I really feel like some concepts shouldn't be thrown around willy nilly in media where folk are seeking entertainment and not cheap plot switches.

I played Lugaru on OSX years and years ago. I know there's a story or something, but mostly I modded the game and did fun as hell jump kicks.

This is sort of the kind of game I wish Zeno Clash was. The controls are loose, but not frustrating. Just the right amount of control. And the physics is hilarious. You also feel really cool and empowered when you're jumping around, doing flips and kicking wolves in the face.

But I wouldn't recommend the game to anybody. It's very very bare bones, almost like a demo. If you can get a demo, give it a spin, it's really an experience you have to feel out to know if it's for you or not.

Need your ninja rabbit fix and are not willing to drop $30 for an incomplete Overgrowth? (which at the time of writing is still in alpha) Then Lugaru is for you.
Oh, it also runs on Windows 8.1 with no issues if you were wondering.

Score: 4/10

I tried it. I guess I got into this game after to many good indie games were out and the flaws in this were to obvious to me.

its fun to play by yourself and with friends. Wolfire is one of my favorite studios because theyre inovative and think out side the box. This is a hidden gem and everyone should add it to their library.

A very fun little game. Don't expect a detailed story or anything like that, but it's a great game with a bit of a challenge - for those who don't mind the dated graphics.

Worth checking out its sequel currently in development, Overgrowth.
