  • AI with Distinct Styles of Play — The game AI matches your style of play—choose from play styles such as ‘rushing’, ‘turtling’, and more, or level the battlefield and let the AI use its own tactics to give you the highest level of challenge.

Difficulty for campaign is completely unreasonable. An example: In one of the GDI missions in Sarajevo, you need to build up a force to attack a heavily fortified Nod position. It's pretty much impenetrable to ground assaults and air attacks. You can't use the ion cannon on the main objective because it's shielded. Now, you would think the logical way to handle this would involve a build up of high-tech, high cost units. But you can't- because you will be blowing all your money on building and repairing base defenses. Let your base get destroyed, and you won't be able to complete later objectives. There are no production facilities you can take out easily to slow down enemy waves. The only defenses of the Nod base that you can destroy with impunity are the obelisks, which are vulnerable to air assault, but will quickly be rebuilt.

I eventually assaulted the base with ten mammoth tanks, and managed to destroy less than half of it. I couldn't do more because my base was destroyed at that point.

On all missions, AI will also attack on two or more different fronts, and with such rapid, frequent attacks that even a diehard RTS fan can be overwhelmed. Also, you can't build walls or gates anymore, because why would anyone want to keep enemy units out of their base easily? And you can't build in certain locations for no discernible reason, other than the design team said so.

This game is designed to be more frustrating than fun. It is a far cry from Tiberian Sun. It's a shame that such a game franchise went in this direction- I'm sure it's a great story, it's got famous actors in it, there are great units...but the fact that missions are designed to screw you over every way possible just makes this not worth the time.

Fun game, but as all of us forlorn C&C gamers know, with EA owning the games and the death of Gamespy, these beloved C&C titles are hard to use now. Online servers are hard to come by and often dead (unpopulated), player made maps often don't work anymore with all the various EA re-releases of the games. Player made maps are crucial! Mod support also suffers. C&C is a beloved series that has been bled out by a liquidation company and took a huge hit when it lost Gamespy servers. The games are trying to make a comeback, but with so many different versions of the same game and even various servers to play on, it is hard to find the right game version that can use player maps/mods and then you need to actually find other players.

This game is fantastic. Possibly my favorite game of all time. There is one major problem however... It does not, at this time run on Windows 10... EA also shut down the multiplayer servers. If you don't have Windows 10, get it. Even without the servers it's a great game.

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars keeps to the roots of the C&C genre in terms of base building, unit construction, and faction diversity. Minor changes are resource generation (Pre determined pools of tiberium exist), the special abilities of the factions, and trying to keep your enemy from unit swarming you (good luck with that haha). This is possibly the last true C&C game to come from EA that retains much of the C&C core (don't get me wrong, the Red Alert, Generals, and Kane's Wrath timelines are fun to play as well, not to mention KW is a throwback to Tiberian Sun in a manner). C&C 3 is also fun because you actually get to duke it out in diverse areas and SOME important cities all around the globe.

I strongly recommend this game to any 90's kid.

Game works perfectly on Windows 8

Graphics still hold up to this day

There is no unit limit

Game is balanced

Music is great

Campaign is pretty long. Possible to play as all 3 sides.

Not sure about in-game multiplayer services, but hamachi/Gameranger work fine.

AI can put up a fight and has different "characters" (Agressive, defensive, etc).
