Choose from all-new road types including wide-avenues, suspension bridges, or one-way streets, as well as map out seamless regional networks that whisk Sims from one city to another. Wreak havoc with all-new disasters including a UFO invasion, massive wrecks at railroad crossings, and the occasional car fender bender. There are also all-new tutorials available to help you get started.

This game crashes whenever I try to load a city that I've saved. If you buy this game, do yourself a favor and save your city after 15 minutes, restart it and then try loading the saved city.

I waited to try saving until after I'd played for an afternoon, and Steam won't refund my money because I played for more than two hours.

Since save and load aren't working, I've paid $20 for crippleware.

The crowning achievement of the SimCity IP; SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition delivers all of the best features and systems of each of the previous versions into this better and improved offering. Some would argue that SimCity 5 was a more improved version, and to them I say this, Origin was not inolved in the making of SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition and therefore is the much improved title! The need to be always connected to the Internet in SImCity 5 killed the game for me, I love the option of Online Interaction but hate that I cannot play the game as a single player Offline; thanks again Origin! The addition of Sim interaction in this game was wonderful, the ability to add your own Sims to your cities and get their oppionions about specific things was sorley missied in this title's predicesors. Having played all previous versions I had always longed for an in-game method for dertermining which things about my city were small annoyances to my populace but not major enough for my advisors to complain about. These things would affect your mayoral rating as well as have an effect on which Sims would move into and out of certian areas. Furthermore, the addition of the "Piloting" mechanics added a new layer of depth to the game while offering new construction options to the player for accomplishing different missions. If you loved any of the previous SimCity games, this one will not dissapoint!

I have no idea how you're supposed to build your city into something that rivals Rio de Jinero or New York, but it's still worth a go. I love how you can terraform the land first, then pretty much do what you like.

Cons: Wasn't worth £10
The Sims don't seem to like it if you add a monument like the Spinx early on - shame.
The tutorials are long-winded and not helpful.

But definitely get it if you're a Sim for life like me, and love killing sims. :D Can't wait to get Sims 4 itself - taking Selfies wth the Grim Reaper here I come!

SimCity 4 > SimCity 5

The game is quite fun even though it is old. It IS IMPORTANT to note that you need to put a code (look it up online if you want) into the start up of the game on steam, since the game does not use your computers multi processors. This prevents your game from crashing *cry*.

Pros:
-region view to see your cities. The game comes with London, San Francisco, Berlin, New York and two fantasy ones.
- Development demand is based on your region, allowing specialization.
- Lots of types of buildings that look old and new.
- Famous American Landmarks and some international
- The game is challenging, even on easy.
- Day and Night.
- Can name streets, rivers, land. (toggable)

Cons:
- No option to turn on Automatic disasters like in other games. (except for fire)
- Public transport is difficult to work with and sims really just prefer driving.

It is the same old game you grew up with. Built so that even the worst modern laptop can run it. I have played it in middle school, high school, and college, before I even bought the game on steam. Worth it when on sale.

Low Frame Rates
- My computer can run games like Half-Life 2 and Tropico 5 no problem, this game however (even with being a game from 2004) can't get above 4 frames-per-second.

Broken Engine
- You need to save every minute due to the fact that it will *inevitably* crash and erase all your work since you last saved.

Broken Funding
- The funding mechanics are prone to braking. For instance I have had tens of cities in which hospitals, schools etc, ask for more funding, even though the funding was as high as I could possibly set it.

For a tenner it's a pretty decent game which has brought me hundreds of hours of time wasting fun, however it's too broken and buggy to recomend to anyone I'm afraid.

Still, today, this is one of the top city building games. It has all the great things that the previous Sim City titles had, and improves on them. It has a ton of content created by the community, which adds an infinite variety of buildings and features.

I actually prefer Sim City 4 over many of the newer city builders. Main reason is its simplicity. I do like modern city builders, but sometimes they can get quite complex. Also, I like symmetry in my cities, and the newer games make it a little hard sometimes to achieve this. The straight-cut grid may be limiting in some ways, but very gratifying in others.

It may seem bad at the first glace, I thought it was, all of us who started playing it in the recent years thought it was, it may have bad graphics for modern times but the gameplay totally makes up for it is just so fun! The music track is also amazing! For anyone who likes tycoons like me I would definitely recommend this game.

I first played SimCity 4 in 2005 and instantly fell in love with it. Back then, I must have clocked in hundreds of hours of playtime and to this day it remains my favorite city builder of all time.

The graphics, although they may appear a little dated to modern eyes, still hold up exceptionally well.

The most important aspect, the gameplay, is just as great as it was back in the day. You can create everything from a polluted industrial wasteland to a shining metropolitan utopia and everything in-between. Although easy to learn, the game can be quite complex; you can manage everything from the topography to transportation routes in your city.

Although a minor point, it's worth mentioning that SimCity 4's soundtrack is superb. It definitely contributes to the game.

Additionally, I have heard that there is a thriving modding community for this game. I have not tried any mods myself, but I'm sure they add a lot of great features.

If I have one minor criticism it's that on modern hardware a little work is required to get everything running as it should be, but other than that I have had no issues.

Overall, I highly recommend SimCity 4, especially if you like city builders. It is a classic and easily one of the best examples of its genre.

I had to buy the Steam version because my CD version was no longer working with Windows 7, and I tried all the command line add ons, SC4Launcher, etc... Nothing worked but I read that this game still worked via Steam. So, I took a chance and bought and I'm sure glad I did! Nothing beats Sim City 4, it is still the best in the series and worlds better than the newer iterations of it. I am so sad that they ruined this game after Sim City 4. This is by far the only real Sim City and the last true work of art by those who created Sim City to begin with. It is so detailed, so complex, yet so easy to learn how to play and make amazing beautiful cities. I highly recommend this game to those looking for a classic that was the zenith of all city building games.

Mac version not recommended. It was clearly an afterthought and even simple features such as importing heightmaps or custom regions are not supported. Most mods will not work.

Gameplay in general is enjoyable but not as engrossing as I remember classic Sim City being.

U Drive It missions are terrible. The interface is clunky and slow to respond, and while you're trying to learn how to drive thrings around your city your failed missions cause you to lose money, reputation and sometimes even city features.

For the price I can't recommend it.

This is the game that Simcity 5 should've been.

Simcity 4 is the best city builder around.

It has it all: a dedicated modding community, a ton of content (and a great DLC too), deep gameplay, and just pure awesomeness.

I find myself getting hooked into this game, with the massive regions to fill up with cities and then when I'm done, I get to look at it all in great detail.
The game offers a lot of content and gameplay with smallest of details. I love this game so much. If you want a great stragety base city builder, this is the way to go.

Not even Cities: Skylines can manage to be this great in terms of detail and gameplay depth.

Well, if being the mayor of a city is your dream, well that dream has come true. Pick this game up when it goes on sale and you'll have a lot of fun.

But please note: This game is from 2003. Expect graphics bugs, optimization issues or anything along the lines of that. If you do experience problems with gameplay, remember to look online for solutions. Many people have posted solutions to this problem. Try them all before posting your negative review. If you give up on this game so easily by just giving a negative review and leaving it to rot without even trying a solution, you'll miss out on one of the best city builders ever made.

Classic Sim City! The graphics and city systems were top notch at its release years ago. It has a nostalgic feeling that I don't get from other city builders. Hours and hours of fun were had back in the day. I picked it up on steam for a little of that beautiful feeling again.

Before I bought this game on Steam I had played SimCity3000 & SimCity Classic of the SimCity franchise. I enjoyed these games a lot. So I knew before I started playing SimCity 4 that I would really like it. This game has good graphics considering its made in 2003, gameplay is realistic and worth your money.

Overall its a realistic city builder simulator.
