About the Game

Get SimCity 4 and SimCity™ 4 Rush Hour in one convenient package. Create, grow, and breathe life into your ideal urban environment. Fight disasters both realistic and fantastic. Govern your own virtual metropolis as you see fit with SimCity 4.
In SimCity 4, you don't just build your city, you breathe life into it. Create a megalopolis by weaving together a tapestry of cities ranging from a bedroom community to a high tech urban center or a vacation destination to a farming village. You can create a region of interconnected cities sharing and competing for resources that are linked by a fully integrated transportation network. Use "god-like" powers to create mountain ranges, carve valleys, and lay rivers to construct the most realistic metropolis imaginable. The new simulation engine offers immediate feedback so you can react to the needs of an expanding metropolis. Now individual buildings and their lots provide you with feedback. Use the My Sim features to personalize your Sim and immediately move him or her into any area and watch them experience life around town and get instant feedback on the city's progress. Each decision has a greater impact and gives you the ability to respond more effectively.
Includes SimCity™ 4 Rush Hour: Have the ultimate level of control over your city's transportation network by completely taking charge of roads, rail, air, waterways, and even vehicles. U-Drive It! missions will be presented for you to solve, such as chasing down a bank robber or apprehending a car-jacker. If missions are completed successfully, you will earn reward buildings and other vehicles. As traction is gained by fixing problems and accomplishing missions, your mayor approval rating will soar and Sims will flock to your city. Choose from all-new road types including wide-avenues, suspension bridges, or one-way streets, as well as map out seamless regional networks that whisk Sims from one city to another. Additional options include going global to create a metropolis based on an all-new modern European building set or personalizing new creations by labeling streets, mountains, neighborhoods, and points of interest. Wreak havoc with all-new disasters including a UFO invasion, massive wrecks at railroad crossings, and the occasional car fender bender. There are also all-new tutorials available to help you get started. New gameplay levels are also available so you can create the city of your dreams.

System Compatibility

SimCity was tested for performance and hardware compatibility when it was originally launched. While the classic gameplay of SimCity 4 remains unchanged, unexpected performance and graphics issues with newer systems may occur. If you experience any performance or graphics issues, we recommend running in Windowed Mode and/or Compatibility Mode to maintain the intended experience.

System Requirements

    • OS: Windows XP
    • Processor: PIII 500 or equivalent

THE city simulator. It's old but it's the best one out there if you ask me. Even though the graphics aren't full 3D they are still surprisingly high definition and it is fun to zoom in close and just look at the buildings. The graphics really do still hold up. I was honestly surprised.

The gameplay is fantastic if you're into this genre and there are only a few problems with it. Some of those can be fixed with mods which there are plenty of. The modding community is great and popular mods are totally worth getting even if some of them change the game mechanics quite a bit. If you new to the genre I would recommend you first play a city or two without mods to get the vanilla experience. For the fans of the genre: mod to your hearts content. You can pull a lot of extra depth out of the game with the right mods.

You will waste days managing your city once you get sucked in. Prepare your calendar accordingly. This among my favorite games of all time.

(I have probably played SimCity a hundred hours back in the day. I still have the disc!)

While you cannot build crazy windy roads, SimCity 4 is perfect for building a city with grid street plan and you'll get everything you didn't get in SimCity 2013: huge maps, multiple entrances, zoning lots, detailed statistics/graphs/budgets, multiple transportation options from subway, elevated train, freeway, toll gates... the list goes on.

SimCity 4 is rather old game so bear in mind that the software is not optimized for computers with multiple CPU cores/threads (will only take up one core instead of x cores you have on your system).

Probably my one most played game in all my life. The possible scale of cities and mods makes this an infinite source of fun. While the hraphics may be a bit dated you can still create buitiful and lively cities that feels more real then any other city building game I've played.

This game is above all the most famous and classic single player city simulation game. Made by Maxis before being bought out by notorious EA, you can use pipes, tons of transit and road systems for travel, commercial, industries, and even missions within the game. Furthermore you can create not just on city, but a giant world by yourself for yourself. THIS IS WAY ♥♥♥♥ING BETTER THAN SIMCITY 5, the "Half-life 3" For Sim-city players.
