One of the few hardcore restaurant sims in existence, Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a deceptively easy game to learn but incredibly challenging to master as you progress through your career from owning a terrible zero star cafe into a five star world famous restaurant.

CSD: Battle Kitchen Beta v3.15 Now Available

Hey everybody, here's the latest Cook, Serve, Delicious update, going into beta for PC today!

This new release contains an all new mode, the Mystery Box, as well as some user requested features and bug fixes. As with all betas, if you decide to opt in, please back up your saves! For information on where to find your saves, visit this thread:

To opt into this beta (Windows only) you'll need to right click Cook, Serve, Delicious in your library, click properties, select the Beta tab and click the Beta branch from the pull down menu.

Here's a list of what's fixed and new in this update:

  • Mystery Box Mode (1-4 players, Battle Kitchen) For the first time in the game, all 30 foods will be in play in this challenge. The catch: all orders will be in secret mystery boxes until they're selected. How far can you go in this crazy challenge?
  • Added an option to enable support for touchscreens and tablet PCs. This will get rid of the "double tap" method of input that had to be done for touchscreen users. To enable, load a game and go to the main options screen, select Keyboard/Tablet Options and then enable the option in the following menu.

  • Adjusted system that deploys VIPs and dates. Originally if you had a high buzz restaurant, there was a chance that your VIP or date would not be "fit" into the order system, resulting in a "missed" date or VIP. That system has been tightened considerablly to try and prevent this from happening.
  • Crazy Dave's Bet 17 now properly resets if won, preventing the "bet not taken" error messages and errors related to bets.
  • Fixed a small menu display error in the Battle Kitchen menus when using a controller under certain circumstances.
  • Endurance runs ending due to food burning now properly reset when immediately retrying the event.

CSD: Battle Kitchen v3.12 Update

Hey, who's ready for ESPORTS? Cause I got a brand new mode for you in this new update for CSD: Battle Kitchen!

When I first announced the new Battle Kitchen update the idea was that I'd have an eSports mode which would generally be another challenge type event with five foods and random recipes, like the strike challenges. However I was quite surprised with how popular the endurance mode was, so much so that I thought I'd just merge the eSports challenge idea into a brand new endurance event.

I hope you enjoy the event and the final part of the Battle Kitchen update (which includes Versus modes for multiplayer) should hit in January. Thanks and happy ESPORTS!

  • Fixed an issue that caused burgers and corndogs to sometimes disappear from your menu even if they've been purchased. Burgers that have been upgraded at least once will be returned to your menu, otherwise burgers and corndogs lost to this bug will need to be repurchased one last time. My apologies for that issue.
  • Fixed an email that referred to some old gameplay modes that have since been replaced with the Battle Kitchen.
  • Fixed minor spelling issues.

  • Fixed an issue that didn't properly reset Risotto calls when retrying an Endurance challenge (both regular and eSports)
  • Fixed bug that would sometimes improperly halt Endurance challenges at the start with a failed "food burned" message.
  • Fixed chef Risotto's calls not coming through properly when the prep stations are full. As a result, some players never got another Risotto call during the initial one for the eSports challenge. Because of this the eSports board has been reset and can only be used with this newest patch. My apologies for the glitch. Do note that your new score for the eSports challenge will go through to the Steam leaderboards, even if you do not beat your old local score.
  • Halved the amount of time the Risotto call is on screen after the player chooses an option.

  • Fixed a corrupted graphics package that went out with 3.10. The burger's lettuce image is no longer a series of PlayStation button images.

  • eSports Endurance Mode (1-4 players): the new eSports challenge for CSD is finally here! eSports Endurance takes the standard Endurance challenge, changes the four starter foods (which are now Soda, Sushi, Pasta and Ice Cream) and increases the "replacement pool" with hard foods across the board, as well as upping the difficulty at the start at a considerable degree. Good luck!

  • Fixed a bug that slowed the first three orders of every Weekly Challenge before adjusting to a fast speed. Orders will now move quickly after the first one.
  • Fixed minor UI elements with Endurance menus.
  • Fixed bug in Endurance where the player was asked to replace a food with the exact same food in the Risotto call.
  • Adjusted leaderboard displays for the removal of avatars. While I hope to bring this back in the future, right now it's causing way too many issues for users so unfortunately they are disabled for now.

“Along with being one of the (very unexpectedly!) funniest games I’ve played this year, the game’s disarming & charming aesthetic did not prepare me for what is undoubtedly the best WarioWare-like game I have ever played. In fact, I probably ended up spending more time with Cook, Serve, Delicious! than with almost any other game this year. The gameplay is simple in nature but blisteringly fast, resulting in a challenge that is more than enough to keep the average player interested. The game does not overstay its welcome, as it evolves in numerous ingenious ways by the time you’ve reached the end.”
The Stereogram

“It's not an easy game to excel at, but it's an easy game to get hooked on, and the challenge of building and running your own restaurant from front to back is going to captivate you for weeks on end...with depth to rival a strategy game and carefully controlled chaos ruling the action sequences, Cook, Serve, Delicious! is a rare release that encourages you to play until you master every nuance of gameplay.”
Jay Is Games

“Cook, Serve, Delicious! is fast paced, engaging, and absolutely addictive for foodies or non-foodies alike. Don’t be fooled by the cute cartoonish style because you’ll find your eyeballs popping and button mashing like mad after a few hours.”

  • Strike Challenges- Take on twelve brand new challenges on your own or up to four players tag team with adjustable difficulty settings. Warning: these challenges can be extremely difficult!

  • Co-op Campaign- Play the campaign mode with a friend using your current save! Tag each other to switch positions on the fly, and make your way from a zero star cafe to a five star restaurant! (co-op can be enabled or disabled at any time in the main menu of the campaign mode).
  • Game Improvements- A huge array of game improvements and additions have been added to the game! For more, visit the official announcement page here:

Cook, Serve, Delicious is a hardcore restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives the players total control over where they want to take their restaurant.

The game centers on an old, worn down restaurant in the SherriSoda Tower, which was once the heart of the building but closed down as business (and tenants) dropped to an all time low. But with the local economy rising back up and occupancy reaching its maximum, SherriSoda Tower has decided to bring back the old Cook, Serve, Delicious restaurant, and has given you complete control to bring it back to its old five star status of world class dining.

To do that, you’ll start with a few thousand dollars and thirty foods to choose from to put on your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and more. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get that restaurant packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills?

And if that weren’t enough, you’ll also have the opportunity to be cast in the Iron Cook television show, throw parties for offices in SherriSoda Tower, read virtual mail in your SherriSoda Tower Email account which ranges from game tips to crazy spam (nearly 500 emails in all), from customers providing feedback to your restaurant to opportunities such as being able to fund projects via “ClicknStart” and other big surprises!

With hours of content and tons of secrets and unlockables, Cook, Serve, Delicious will provide a big challenge for anyone who’s ready to take their crumbling, rat infested eatery to a luxurious Platinum Star Restaurant. Good luck!

  • New Steam Features include key binding support for all foods and events, a new gameplay option called CookBets where you will receive randomized challenges each day, fifty new spam emails and options as well as improvements to UI across the board, and full Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Steam Leaderboards with special Steam Challenges and Trading Cards support.
  • Includes the upgrade pack, "Extra Crispy Edition," that brings ten new foods to the game including Lobster, Bananas Foster, Enchiladas, Sushi and more!
  • DualShock 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One gamepad fully supported. Rumble is also supported (for Windows only).
  • Music by award winning composer Jonathan Geer
  • Art by Sara Gross - Two Bit Art (Battle Kitchen art by Camille Kuo)

This is one of the most stressful games I've ever played. And I put over 20 hours into it over a period of weeks, always coming back to it to serve another day. You are running a restaurant, but the complexity of it severely outstrips your regular diner dash style game. Almost every food has multiple recipes (there are something like 35 different hamburger combinations possible), and your menu has upwards of 20 items, of which you can serve 4-6 on any given day. Manage service, janitorial requirements and a variety of other tasks. It's hard to describe how complex and yet how engaging this game is. It is seriously stressful, especially on the later levels, but pulling off 88 orders in a row perfectly is a rush; this is really an underrated and great game.

Before I can actually say anything about the game I have to say that Chubigans, the man responsible for this creation, is easily one of the coolest and nicest indie developers I have ever had to write to. And just on that aspect alone he deserves your money, but then he made this game and it's worth ever penny spent.

Some would say, "this game is casual." And to them I suggest they try multi-tasking a queue of 5 burger orders at once during rush time while still needing to flush a toilet, give a thumbs up on social media, and set a mouse trap while the health inspector is watching. That is twitch control so furious that even some pros couldn't take it. But somehow even with the game going as frentic as it does it's still fun just making food and taking all the orders.

Definitely one worth the money.

My wife, who enjoys casual games and especially cooking games, loves this game.

I hate all those things, and I also love this game.

It positively oozes with love and care from its developer. This is a great example of the kind of thing that indie developers can do that big companies never could. A game that uses the best casual game mechanics, but with hardcore difficulty, with an amazing variety of content, and without any crummy monetization ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. You can tell this is a labor of love, particularly considering the huge new expansion that adds tons of new modes including a co-op campaign, completely for free, over a year after its initial release.

Tip: Play this with a great big clicky keyboard. So fun.

I found C,S,D! to be a fun and refreshing experience. Its pretty simple, very easy to get into, and extremely addictive. Little things get added as you progress (like dating, special challenge tournaments, investments, upgrades and such) but for the most part you just do the same thing from day (level) 1 to day 100. Luckily right about when you start to get over it, you find yourself at the finish line.

I was a little intimidated by it before I tried it, because it looks like it can be one of those frustrating and difficult games, where you need twitch reflexes and expert precision... but its actually surprizingly easy. You do need to be fast and precise, but like: you can't even lose. I went through some days purposefully messing up every single order to see what happens, and nothing happens except for you slowing your progress to the end of the game. That said, don't think its not challenging. If you want to really conquer the game, you'll want to try to get perfect days as much as you can-- and that can be quite a challenge. Also the special challenge tournaments you need to beat for the last few sections of the game are a little challenging, but they are certainly beatable.

I will be honest though, the entire aspect of the game is simply a test of your ability to percieve stimuli and coordinate multitasking of entering codes into a keyboard. That's the whole game. Slowly the complexity of the keyboard codes goes up, the number of things you need to multitask goes up, and little other aspects are sprinkled in to keep your mind on its metaphorical toes. But it's fun. And its fresh and different. I like puzzlers and braintwister games and I certainly hadn't experienced anything like C,S,D! until I played C,S,D! If you enjoy mentally stimulating games then I think you'll like the fresh and enjoyable experience this game provides.

Update: With the free update of "Battle Kitchen Edition" there is now local multiplayer, weekly challenges, leaderboard contests, and some new character unlockables and customization.

This might be the most demanding title in my library. Underneath its casual-friendly theme and its welcoming artstyle lies a game of frantic keyboard slapping.

If you thought you were good at multi-tasking, think again. If you thought you were good at memorizing keystroke sequences, let's see how good you are. This is as close as a human being will come to being a food-slinging robot as will be possible until the coming Robopocalypse.

It's well crafted. It's fun. It's exactly what you already want, stop reading this and get the game already you're wasting time that you could be using to MAKE PIZZAS FOR VIRTUAL PEOPLE AHHH GODDD

Ok it's hard to describe why this game is enjoyable.

It's nothing like real cooking. Trust me I've gone to school for that stuff as well as worked for 3 1/2 years in the industry. It's really not realistic.

It's mostly a timed key puncher game. Hit the right keys per menu choice when ordered. Hit the right order number when the cooking time is ready. Try and keep the wait time down so they down't walk away. Hit the right keys to clean dishes, ect.. Turn up the intensity and complete the cateering challenges. Oh and you can't get to 3 stars without doing that.

It's nothing like real cooking WHAT SO EVER....

Yet somehow.. it's fun slamming the perfect order of nachos with over 20 possible variables down and getting a customer thumbs up. A perfect order day is bliss. Passing health inspection days a relief.

And oddly enough it can give you a non drug indused case of the munchies.

In Cook, Serve, Delicious you run a restaurant progressing from a basic establishment with a modest selection of recipes to a 5 star restaurant offering more advanced food. The player has the responsibility of performing every action needed to run the restaurant (taking the orders, preparing the food, cooking, collecting the money).
The game can be played solely using your keyboard or gamepad, which adds to its fast nature. You will be put under a lot of stress when facing multiple customers and thus incorrectly execute seemingly simple tasks.
For a game that isn't supposed to be played for many hours consecutively the progression from day to day can often be neglegible leading to a lack of motivation to keep playing.
Anyway I recommend the game due to its unique concept.

Think Diner Dash, but without all of the annoying cleaning up after customers and isometric point-of-views. Unlike Diner Dash, you get to prepare, cook, and serve the food, as well as choose what's on the menu. Another bonus, this game is fully compatible with most controllers. This is one of my favorite games as of now.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! is the most fun cooking simulation casual game I ever played. It's more fun to play it than Hotdog Bush. Not gonna compare this with Diner Dash and it's spin-offs because that's a totally other game.

This game made my hands move faster and made my head ache because of the stress it gives me. Nonetheless, I had fun playing it and reaching all of its achievements is really crazy, crazy in a good way.

This game is far more engaging than it has any right to be.
At first glance, it looks like a really simple game. It is. It's very easy to pick up, learn, and play. It's very intense during the lunch rush, with some lulls between to chill out and practice.
The game isn't realistic at all with its 8 dollar sodas, but that only adds to the entertainment when people stroll in to pay for a beer at 9 am, too. All the while, wondering why the hell someone would pay 8 dollars for a small water...

If you wanna get reductive about it, it's a set of QTEs, but there are light strategies involved with remembering how long foods take to cook while juggling your customers and cleaning chores. Lightweight management stuff like organizing your menu and improving it keep it fresh.

I cannot find anything to fault about this game besides potentially too much grind between restaurant levels but everything else is top notch. The music is jazzy, the graphics bright and cheerful, and the gameplay is a perfect blend of restaurant management sim with fast-paced, typing-tutor-like action.
