+Great visuals on the Unreal 3 Engine.
+Extremely fast paced
+Reminicent of Quake 3, but if quake 3 was a Jet / Mech game
+Gameplay is very fun and addictive
+Awesome controls

-ZERO playerbase, means only one server at a time has any players on it.
-Usually crappy ping on said server ^
-Due to low player base its tough to pick up and want to play as you will be encountering lots of very good players as they are the only ones who still play the game. From what ive seen its either Level 1-10's or level 45+'s disscourages the level 1-10's wanting to actually play this game, as a skilled player will absolutely dominate the lobbies.

Overall this game is great, the controls are fluid, visuals are pretty, However with the current playerbase i cant recommend this game to anybody. As far as im concerned maybe if they switched to free to play, they could regain their lost playerbase. Or if durring any of the steam sales this game would go lower than half price 6$, as ive had my eye on this game for a while however it needs a good kick in the playerbase. Either an extremely low sale (2-3) dollars on steam. Or no price tag at all.

Game is dead. Seems like it could have been ok if it had funding. It's dead though. Empty servers and unbalanced gameplay.

No one is playing this game. For a multiplayer game that has 3 people playing globally on a Saturday... ridiculous, I feel ripped off, save your money.

I was very close to not recomending this game because as fun as it is, as much as I love it, almost nobody is playing it, and for a mostly multiplayer game thats certainly not a good thing. You also need better internet then what ever TF2 needs as lag spikes are more often for me then that game. The main reason I recomend it is because I want more people to play it.

You know how an Italian chef kisses his fingers and says something in Italian that translates to "A masterpiece" after tasting their own dish? That's how I feel about this game.

I would recommend this game if you can get it on sale. However for $12 I think this is asking a bit much from a certain demographic. It's clear this game is meant to target those that are into "sci-fi" and "mech" genres, and if you are that person, then the 12 dollar price tag just might be worth your while. Upon viewing the trailers you might think that this game is way too chaotic to even traverse anywhere. And you're right, it will be, at least for the first time you try it.

The core gameplay revolves around you piloting a strike vector, a high-tech machine used to rip your opponents a new one. The Strike Vector has two modes that are toggleable by the space bar; a jet mode and a hover conversion. The jet mode is where things get crazy fast. While combat is possible, it is best used to get where you need to be before you engage someone in your other mode, the hover-harrier. The hover harrier is much more controllable and very viable with its own unique dash mechanics and combat features, such as aiming down your sights and overall being much easier to aim with.

Jets control like ice moving on a buttered floor. They don't maneuver as well as you'd hope, and you'll surely crash if you try to fly it in small nooks and crevices. However, paired with the hover mode you'll find that you can dodge missles, get through tight spaces, and out-maneuver your opponents if you can master toggling between the two; jet for speed and hover for turning. The controls are responsive and there is really no delay when inputting commands for your Vector, so you should have no problem transforming on the go.

Combat on the other hand may take a while to get used to if you're not willing to put in the effort. Leading shots can be a pain, and chasing down opponents can feel useless. Doing damage is also very unrewarding and can be discouraging/frustrating when you do a lot of damage and your teammate steals your kill. On the plus side there are multiple weapons to choose from for each hand, each with their own unique attributes and are fairly balanced. And yes, all weapons and abilities are unlocked at the start. The main progression feature is to unlock Vector parts and skins.

-Fast gameplay
-Excellent Twitch Shooter Mechanics
-Third and First person cockpit
-Customizable Vectors
-Weapon Variety
-Various game modes and maps
-Extremely responsive controls
-Balanced weapon set-ups based on your playstyle
-Single player challenges and leaderboards

-Certain weapon mods don't feel viable for particular weapons
-Team games don't feel very teamwork oriented (kill stealing everywhere, no assists)
-Doing damage in game doesn't feel rewarding if you don't get the kill
-Not much progression to be had unless you're into customizing, could use more customization features
-Learning curve is kind of steep
-Not very casual friendly
-Small Playerbase

Tl;dr - The game is fun but may not be worth the 12 dollars for certain people. Lots to do and there are good times to be had here. I'd recommend it to people who like mechs, jets, and shooters.

By itself this game is fun. Jumping into a server full of people that know what they're doing is not. Notice how this does not detract from my overall positive review. That's because at the core the game is fun. However its limited player base may turn you away quickly.

I'd like to enjoy this game, but I just can't. The controls are too clunky and the mouse never points where you want it to go, no matter what you mess with in the settings making you end up miles off target. Not to mention the non-existant playerbase. There's maybe 5 people playing at once in total. They're all on the same server, which results in you pretty much playing the same gamemode over and over and over. I really wanted to give this game a shot, and I did, but it was just a waste of my time.

This game is amazing technically. It looks great, the controls are awesome, and even if you are terrible, it is a joy just to fly around.

The ability to hover and strafe is amazing too. Overall, RageQuit have made a very impressive game that should have become super popular, even a staple for the Steam community. However, I feel it has one fatal flaw:

It's too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ed difficult.

I know the game wasn't designed to appeal to everybody, or become the next Hat Simulator 2. I know RageQuit prided themselves on creating something that elite gamers from the classic multiplayer era of shooters would appreciate. All the same, the difficulty curve is jacked.

Really, there is no difficulty curve. It's a friggin' difficulty wall. You'll be playing gainst people just as bad as yourself and still struggling to topfrag with 3 kills after the time limit is up.

The reason games like TF2, DOTA 2, and CS:GO developed such substantial followings is because a new person can pick it up and still somewhat try to contribute to their team, plus learn little by little along the way. When a new player has 2 kills and 15 deaths in CS:GO, they feel like they can eventually learn and aren't discouraged.

Psychologically, there aren't enough payoffs here. You may never kill anyone. A lot of the weapons need to be led, and both you and your opponents move not across planes like a ground-based shooter, you're floating in 360 degree space. A lot of the hitscan/locking weapons are too weak. It's frustrating as hell, and not because your opponant is more skilled; they might not even know they evaded your attacks as you fly into yet another wall. In fact, you might die to crashing more than anything else.

What's hilarious about all of this is the game gives you visual rewards for EVERYTHING, Call of Duty style. That's a game designed for console users and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, hardly the ultimate proving ground of FPS skill that this game claims to be.

I'm not a total baddie as far as FPS's go, and early 2000's is my favorite era for shooters as well. All the same, I would rather face the best player in the world in Quake 3 than one moderately practiced player in this game. At least I might get lucky with the railgun once in awhile. At least Q3 had an audible hit indicator, plus not every single weapon required the precision of an industrial robot to use.

I would like to see this game re-released easier to use wepons, less penality for colliding with walls, and maybe environments where everything isn't the same dingy color has your opponents. A bot mode would have helped too. This game could have filled a very unique niche, but as it is, I can't find anyone to play on the servers. ANYWHERE. No one else had the patience to weather the crazy difficulty curve,a nd those who did probably got tired of waiting around for hours to play NOBODY.

Like I said, it's got potential, it's just not accessible yet.

This is a tough review because it could be a fun game but you'll never find anyone playing it. If there were bots or maybe some form of single player this would be a thumbs up but unfortunately this is a completely forgotten/never purchased multiplayer game which means it's a flop. Can't recommend at any price - watch YouTube gameplay videos to get your fill and move on.

+ graphics

- bad controls
- camera doesnt help
- empty servers
- everything seems to blend in with the ♥♥♥♥ing background
- because of this you're dead 5 times before you found the person attacking you

10/10 would wish the possibility of a refund was there again.

:Strike Vector: is the funnest, most competitive, and fastest multiplayer shooter I have ever played. Nothing tops this game's multiplayer. It looks awesome, it looks fun, but in reality... its very, very, VERY niche. I'm gonna tell you right now that this is probably not a game you want to play.

It has wonderful graphics and runs like a charm on my rig. The game has lots of customization and weapon loadouts, and everything except cosmetic stuff is available from the start. The weapon loadouts are endless, and of course most outperform others, but there is more than enough variety to always keep the game fresh. Of course, its not much work to unlock the costmetic stuff either. Skill really shows in this game, and if you are good you are rewarded for it in spades, and if you can't keep up its painfully obvious. This game has no hand holding, everything you do in this game is via your own skill and you knowledge of the game mechanics. Being good at this game is something to be proud of.

BUT, this game has one glaring, stupidly big flaw. The game is so competitive and the skillgap, even if tiny, has such a huge impact on gameplay that most people don't even stick around to play because they simply cannot keep up. Generally, most of the newbs and unskilled players only last a few days before they get bored or permanently ragequit from getting roasted by the much fewer, yet better players. However, most of the better players quit because there aren't many people left to shoot. As such, the game has largely killed itself because its TOO competitive. This is not a game for casuals in any sense of the word. Please keep in mind that of all the 100+ thousand people who bought this game, less than a tenth of a percent of them are still playing to this day.

Reviews give the impression that this game is undesirable because it has low population, but this is misleading. The gameplay is actually BETTER on low population servers. Its not a typical shooter where most firefights end up relying on confusion and teamwork. This is a very personal game, and much of the gameplay is just that; personal. You will literally be dogfighting individual players 90% of the time you play this game. This is what the game was designed for and where it excells. High population servers ruin this however, namely because the combat degenrates into nothing but confusion and nobody can finish kills. That is not to say it could benefit from more population, because it could, but the low population isn't what is killing the game, its the competitiveness of the game itself.

Of course, the game also has other flaws. If you don't live in East Europe or the United States, chances are your ping will be above 100 when you try to play on any of the sparsley populated servers. Anything above 100 ping is generally unplayable as you will find enemies teleporting all over the map and you yourself rubberbanding all over the place and randomly crashing into walls. Likewise, generally anything under 50-60 FPS is considered highly detrimental to this skill based gameplay, especially considering how fast-paced this game is. Your rig has to be up to date for you to play this game properly.

I highly, highly recommend you only play this game if you have played similar dogfighting games. This is a very new experience, and it is painful to learn. The learning curve is MASSIVE. Its a cliff to most people. It introduces new playstyles and is very, very fast. But if you like competitive, fast shooters and are GOOD at them, then this will probably be the funnest multiplayer shooter you will ever play.

An amazing game.
It's very fast paced, and takes a bit of practice to get used to. Expect a lot of trial and error.
There's a lot of customization, the community is friendly, and the game is just plain awesome.

Has the potential to be a fun, fast paced game.... but....
This has one of the single worst tutorials i've ever seen. It's not even possible to look past the tutorial. They tell you nothing. It expects you to know all.. -ALL- of the key bindings going in, they don't describe what you shoudl be doing or what actiosn to take to reach your objectives, they put an unrealistic time limit on them (time limits usually reserved for time trials or pro challenges in any other game) and are immensly unforgiving. After failing time and time again at a TUTORIAL, i lost all inhibition to actually play the game itself. Has potential, but is far from tapping it.
