This game has few minor problems:
#1 There is no game. You know, like goal, quests, storyline, anything!
#2 Unbelievable number of bugs. Tutorial didn't register that I build airlock (characters were going outside ok), at second game I build oxigen "something", but game didn't noticed and still was acting like I had no oxygen (characters were breathing ok), than station was raided and my turret killed some poor raider. All characters were stuck at "panic mode" and didn't return to work.
#3 Idiotic UI that would be completely unbearable for game with any actual content.

I got it for free and i am still feeling it was little bit too pricey.

Ever seen that horrible video on the internet, called "Two girls one cup"? This game is basicly that video, transformed into a game.

So why pay 9.99 to puke over your PC when you can get it for free by watching the video you ask?

Because by buying Spacebase DF-9, you also get a feeling of frustration, abandonment and playing a game that is far from finished!!

Doublefine abandoned this game after using it as a quick cash grab. Don't buy stuff from Doublefine if you know what's good for you.

Unfortunatly, even with the aid of Derelict Games and the support of many modders this is game does not have the content nor the stability for any mid-late game enjoyment as you will more then likely die, asphyiate, run out of resources or run out of managable space more so from the randomness of the game then your inability to play.

I think my biggest gripe with Spacebase DF-9 is the amount of constant events that pop up that will either give citizens, matter or hostiles and some of these you have no choice but to accept. With these though it runs into the problem of keeping these new citizens alive and happy as your Oxygen Generators can only sustain a certain amount of people and you may only have enough facilities to sustain what you've built for.

The game will constantly try to push you to a higher population cap, it becomes more of a race to keep up then a relaxing experience, even worse the game will punish you if you try to "control" the population by stressing all of your citizens out and pushing them closer to brawling and killing each other. It all tries to reach critical mass and as soon as your last citizen drops it's game over.

Spacebace DF-9 has a very steep learning curve, and tuturial system is barely any help. After restarting worlds more times than I cared to count, I finally got past the initial 8 minutes of oxygen. Now that I've got a start the fun actually starts. Layin out the base and assigning my folks to their duties is straight forward. The interface needs some adjusting, because it's not very intuitive, I was constantly click or hitting the wrong button.

This game has about 1-2 hours of content. Build some items and that's that.
There is next to nothing to actually build, no progress tree whatsoever and to counter the lack of content they have just increased the rate of events. Raids or aid arrives basically all the damn time and there is nothing to actually do at all beyond building a few turrets so you're immune to raids. Almost nothing to achieve at all, so you will built at least one of each item the game contains within half an hour.

The research is useless, you will be fed up with the game by the time you have researched two or three items, which you cannot even manufacture, they just "are".

Complete vaporware, do not touch. It looks fancy and has a lot of potential, but don't spend a penny on this until they've actually made a real game out of it. I've played demos that have more content than this. Hell, sneak peeks have more content than this.

Ignore the part of this game being unfinished and abandoned, despite that it was fun.
Now, there is a game breaking bug, where airlocks are awful. Sometimes, when a person steps near an airlock then can break it essentially and whoever was trying to get in will slowly die to asphyxiation, THEN you have lazy builders not finishing the airlock so you'll die before you even got started. I restarted five times, and nothing, nothing works.

I don't know what they did, but after the last 'major' update they broke the game, when I tried using my old base, everything was broken, my reactors, my production, everything.

This was my first base builder game and I loved it, then, double fine did something wrong and broke it, I don't know what they did, but they broke it.

This game needs a way to revert back to an older version so I can play this again, the only thing you got out of this game if you got it early on was a free crappy game to go with your payed game that was broken.

Don't let this discourage you from buying other doublefine games. This one in particular however, was something good, before they broke it.

A solid play for a little while but totally unfinished. No story, no drive to build aside from you need more air for the constant stream of new arrivals. Get real tedious after a short while with no endgame at all.

The gameplay seems interesting at first, but then you feel grounded... in space. No place to go and nothing to explore. Eventually you will just want to burn down the base cause you just don't know why you are still keeping these people alive...
