About the Game

Block and Load! Combining the addictive nature of block building sandbox games with the speed and competition of modern first-person shooters, Guncraft takes voxel-based gaming to a whole new level. Players can create maps and arenas based on anything imaginable and, once complete, can utterly destroy them with bullets, bombs, grenades, tanks, helicopters, gunships, and much more. In the heat of battle, soldiers can create custom blockades and fortresses instantaneously. Watch out – just when you think you’re safe, enemies can tunnel through walls and dig through floors to ambush you from behind, above or below!

In addition to standard modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag, Guncraft offers over seven outlandish game modes like Lava Survival and Racing Mode, plus 100% customizable load-outs that include perks, weapons, vehicles and more. Even better, the core crafting mechanics of Guncraft are available throughout every aspect of the game, enabling players to build maps, prefabs, characters, and weapons on the fly, then decimate them all to take down enemies.

  • Voxel design coupled with hardcore FPS elements: Player-controlled vehicles, perks, killstreaks, class load-outs, clan system, and ranks.
  • Create custom levels, weapons, and characters – you are literally only limited by your imagination!
  • 7+ outlandish game modes for up to 16 players (Online/LAN), including:
  • “Lava Survival” – Magma slowly rises as players build upward to avoid the instant orange death. It’s a new variation of “Last Man Standing”.
  • “Onslaught” – Four players band together to fight off endless waves of deadly robot spiders, soldiers, drones, and aircrafts.
  • “Spleef” – Players drill and destroy blocks on the platform near or under their opponents in order to cause them to fall to their deaths, while fervently avoiding suffering the same fate.
  • “Siege Mode” – A building and prefab centric game mode where two teams are pitted in a race to build a trebuchet-style catapult first. Be sure to defend it, else you get your structure destroyed by the other team.
  • "Racing Mode" – Race to the finish and blow up everyone in front of and behind you in the process! You can even team up with a friend for some double dash style action in the fast paced new game mode!

Meh.. This game is okay.. Here's why I can't recommend it right now
No players, you don't get a chance to play many of the different play styles becuase you can only usually find 1 mostly full Team Deathmatch server and a few other servers sprinkled with 2-3 players.
The game could also use a few min building stage when each map starts.. This would diferentiate it between Ace of Spaces, Build n Shoot, and whatever other Blocky shooting games there are out there.

What I liked:
Varied game styles (see above)
Ability to customize content (Althoguh the approval method seems random)
Building mechanic: You can set up prefab bunkers or bridges pretty easily.
Fun vehicles.. A bit more warning on being shot would be nice but still fun to blow thorugh blocks with tank or chopper
Varied guns. Want to blow up blocks then snipe thorugh the hole.. sure.. want to carry an assualt rifle grenades and a hacksaw sure.

Edit: After the fall sale this game is still pretty much a wasteland. If you like Deathmatch or Team Deathmatch then you may find this game pretty fun. I picked it up for the other game modes and am unfulfilled. I log in every once in awhile see that no one's playing the alternate modes and log off.. Maybe I'm part of the problem, but I don't feel like sitting on an empty server waiting for someone to join up.

I know you're probably thinking "Oh look, another Minecraft spinoff" or "Another stupid copy of Ace of Spades" or "Why buy this when I can just download a gun mod for Minecraft?"

Let me explain a few things.

The only similarities between Guncraft and Minecraft is the word 'craft' in the title, blocky graphics, and some building mechanics. Other than those three things, they are very different. Minecraft is a open world sandbox game. Guncraft is a multiplayer shooter.

Many people say that Guncraft is just some cheap knockoff of AoS, but such statements are untrue. Guncraft and Ace of Spades are quite different from one another.

You may be asking, "What makes them different from eachother?" or "What makes GC better than AoS?"

The following will answer both of those questions.

Guncraft lets you make your own custom classes, custom guns, custom melee weapons and tools, custom maps, custom prefabs, and custom character skins, it has hookshots that let you zip around the map, parachutes, vehicles you can use such as helicopters and hoverbikes, unique gamemodes such as Lava Survival, Meteor Survival, and Paranoia, and awesome devs that listen and respond to the community and constantly improve the game.

Other than custom maps, Ace of Spades has none of the things listed above.

There are no mods or combination of mods for Minecraft that can give you what Guncraft has to offer.

Can anybody show me a Minecraft mod, or combination of Minecraft mods, that lets you build your own custom gun, give it stats (player/vehicle damage, accuracy, clip size, rate of fire, etc...), then use it to freeze other players into funky-looking snowmen, then watch as a deadly rain of meteors obliterates them?

I didn't think so.

Guncraft's customization is what really makes it stand out from other shooters. Did you ever want to make that super cool high-tech ninja class equipped with dual laser guns, a hookshot, an epic katana, and proximity mines? Guncraft gives you the ability to do that. :)

The only negative thing about Guncraft that I can think of is the lack of players, but in time, I'm sure more people will start playing.

Overall, Guncraft is an enjoyable and unique shooter that lets you be creative.

Also, if you would like to join a group that has hosts organized Guncraft matches, please join Blockers in Arms.

If you like customization with some sort of hybrid of CS/COD hybrid, then this is for you. You can make your own guns with your own unique, balanced (Keyword, BALANCED) weapons, and your own skins for your player. The editor is basic enough for new guys to make weapons, while the Minecraftian artists will still have plenty of fun making detailed, fine crafted ones.

While the killstreak list is tiny, aiming can be difficult, and the controls can be frustrating, gameplay is still okay.
It plays like a normal shooter, with grenades, two guns, and a melee. The keyboard controls are spread out everywhere, so finding what button does what can be a challenge.

One of the funnest game modes to play is the lava survival, provided you can avoid everyone else. Most of the time, however, you'll find yourself inside a pit with a half naked man standing above you lobbying grenades down to make sure you stay there. All in all, it's really good for customizing, but not worth 15 bucks juuuust yet. However, if it's on sale, go ahead and try it.

This game is fantastic. It brings out the creative aspects every shooter should have; I really enjoy creating my own weapons!

Its a game you can have constant fun with, alone or co op. The game modes are so different from other FPSs, and they work so well. All in all, great game. Blocks. Murder. Fun.
