About This Content

The Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL) was a proposal to directly link Glasgow Central station with Glasgow International Airport in Scotland, United Kingdom. The link was intended for completion by 2013 and would have had a service of four trains per hour running along a semi-reconstructed via Cardonald, Hillington East and Hillington West, to Paisley Gilmour Street station. It would then have branched-off onto a new purpose-built 1.2 mile (1.9 km) line taking it over the M8 motorway into the airport.

Totalize Media have created numerous add-ons for rail simulation games. GARL is their most ambitious project to date featuring the whole route* covering 9km of existing track from Glasgow Central to Paisley St James and an additional 1.9km of new track between the proposed Airport Junction and Glasgow International Airport.

Glasgow Airport Rail Link for RailWorks raises the bar for driving experiences, as you'll be tested and rostered just like the real thing.

Key Features

Includes 5 Scenarios:
  • Disruption in Govan
  • Early Shift at Glasgow Central
  • Shuttle Service
  • Sunday Engineering Works at Hillington
  • Unusual Movements
*Please note that due to the design purpose of this route, the art style of GARL is heavily biased towards the driver’s eye view.

This an average addition and the price is HARSH. You're not getting a great deal. It's unique though (well almost) because it's ficton. If you like fiction go to Just Trains and get the marsdonshire ad.

Well... It seems that it doesn't support 'same and resume' properly.
I saved my journey very next time after switching from red singal to two yellow signal.

When I came to game again, the signal had been switched to red signal again, and never changed to yello.
It was always RED, RED, RED, .... forever RED!!!!

I started the game again.... at that time, I saved and resumed the game again.
There was no problem when I arrived at Glasgow Int'l Airpot.
However in return journey, a signal was never changed to green light from red light.
It was always RED, RED, RED, ... forever RED!!!

I want to give RED CARD to this addon!

One of only a select few addon's which follow Scottish rail.

Only problem is you'd be better to do the scenario's in 1-go. Doesn't seem to like save and resume.

I like this DLC because I can use Class 380s as Class 332/458 and the game can load quick if you doing it on this map.
