About This Content

The Glasgow Airport Rail Link (GARL) was a proposal to directly link Glasgow Central station with Glasgow International Airport in Scotland, United Kingdom. The link was intended for completion by 2013 and would have had a service of four trains per hour running along a semi-reconstructed via Cardonald, Hillington East and Hillington West, to Paisley Gilmour Street station. It would then have branched-off onto a new purpose-built 1.2 mile (1.9 km) line taking it over the M8 motorway into the airport.

Totalize Media have created numerous add-ons for rail simulation games. GARL is their most ambitious project to date featuring the whole route* covering 9km of existing track from Glasgow Central to Paisley St James and an additional 1.9km of new track between the proposed Airport Junction and Glasgow International Airport.

Glasgow Airport Rail Link for RailWorks raises the bar for driving experiences, as you'll be tested and rostered just like the real thing.

Let me start off with two good things.

1) Class 380 included with it
2) Modern Day Glasgow Central Station

Now the the bad....

1) WAY to short
2) Drivers eye view was the WORST choice
3) Lack of Portals for scenario creators

I give this a 3/17

SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Save your money and don't bother buying this 10 mile stretch of track that you can drive in 15 minutes. The 380 is not a nice train to drive either.

If you want a route that features Glasgow go got the Edinburgh-Glasgow route, that's more worth the money than what this is. Better yet go get the Western Lines of Scotland, that's a much better and way long route and has some stunning scenery, this one looks like it was a rush job for someone one evening.

This an average addition and the price is HARSH. You're not getting a great deal. It's unique though (well almost) because it's ficton. If you like fiction go to Just Trains and get the marsdonshire ad.

One of only a select few addon's which follow Scottish rail.

Only problem is you'd be better to do the scenario's in 1-go. Doesn't seem to like save and resume.
