Don't be fooled by the nerd's furious ranting (which you'll be exposed to every time you die).

You start with eight levels, each one will kill you about 10-20 times on average.

Then you unlock the final level and that one will kill you 100+ times.

You can hold the right trigger to stand in place and fire in a direction (could have used knowing that before I got to the final boss thx).

If you've got three or four hours and a penchant for classic AVGN humor then I give this a recommendation. The game is sprinkled with his hilarious red-hot fury, plus a respectable difficulty.

First off, I wanna say that even on Easy, the game is very hard, and it reaches ridiculous levels of hard in some places; Especially the final boss in my opinion, though that's probably because I don't play hard platformers all that much.

Other than that, this game gives a pretty damn good challenge, but at the same time, it really does make you wanna rage; It's basically showing you what's it like to be in a frustrating game that AVGN played, so if you're inexperienced with platformers, I'd think about it real hard before getting it, or try playing some free ones or emulated ones.

Though I do feel that the difficulty is fake at some parts. You probably can't even get through some parts without dying, and if you're just here for a fun-filled game, that kind of can hinder the enjoyability, at least in my opinion. Hoping the second one is a bit more easier.

Other than that, it's a good game.

When you design a game to include bad mechanics on purpose as a parody of games with bad mechanics, there comes a point where you cross a line and have made a bad game yourself. Unfortunately, AVGN Adventures falls into this category. The level design is lazy and uninspired. The enemies and bosses are boring and game relies much too heavily on instant kill blocks everywhere for difficulty in place of clever level design. I haven't seen that many AVGN videos, so I'm sure I missed out on some inside jokes, but if there are half as many poop jokes there as in this game, I'm pretty sure I'm not missing out. Overall, the game isn't terrible. The controls are pretty tight and there's some decent music, but I can't recommend buying this at full price.
