“Even for those unfamiliar with the ever-expanding Marvel universe, Dark Reign’s use of collection and randomized drops make it compulsively, sickeningly playable.”

“Takes the unlikely pairing of Marvel heroes and match-3 makes it fun. Lots to do besides the story missions. Entertaining, surprisingly humorous dialogue.”

This game has the potential to be a great match-3 type game. I thouroughly enjoyed the original Puzzle Quest game so I thought I'd give this a try. I was really enjoying it until I realized how much money will need to be dumped into the game to unlock things that are needed. The microtransactions in this game are ridiculous! I have no problem throwing a few bucks here and there at a dev that has a quality product, but the costs are so bad that it's not worth my time. Reduce the cost of the microtransactions and I MIGHT play it again.

Bait and switch microtransaction galore... you would expect a match-three game to be casual, but actually if you want to get anywhere in this game you must play at least an hour and a half every eight hours every day, every night - its a grindy borefest. The company doesnt care about playerbase, they just want to squeeze money from people before they eventually realize the game sucks and quit.

Let's see...they recently completely screwed up the 2-star Magneto to ensure that waaaayyy fewer people would be able to achieve the Deadpool Daily, and now they're adding third-rate characters at light speed so we'll be sure to spend our gold on those character slots so that we can actually play. Add in that this thing just crashed on me for the umpteenth time tonight (nothing else crashes on this machine, BTW...only this app (Steam version), ensuring that my characters end up injured and unable to complete a level in a time-limited event (not to mention the health packs I burned on them just before starting the fight where it crashed at the beginning)), and I'm starting to think that I need to abandon this game entirely...

It used to be great. But the devs keep releasing bullcrap to try to force spending, and the bugs are costing me awards and time. I think I'll go back to playing FPSs...this thing is giving me a rash now. Maybe if they fix it, I'll come back.

Honestly, after moving to my iPad and playing for over 8 months, I can tell you how good this game was and how bad this game is right now.

To start with, the old Matchmaking system is fairly easy to adapt to. You get to see opponents based on the points you have earned. The old system is really harsh for new players to handle at first but you will be able to handle it without no trouble later. Before the recent health changes and the nerf to mulitple heroes, most of the new released heroes (Starting from Iron Fist onwards) are completely broken to the point that destroys the fun out of the entire game.

After the Matchmaking changes, only new players can find easy and fair fights while transitioners and most of the players without full level roster could no longer climb up the rank. Some heroes were nerfed to a point which are uplayable. The developer promised a buff for Inivisible Woman a year ago and ended up nerfing her even harder.

With all the recent disappointment, many veteran players are leaving MPQ. So if you are a new player and finding this game extremely easy, good luck, because you will find the game so hard to play with once you decide to level up your heroes. So, make sure when you play as a new player, keep all your hero unlevel for the rest of your life. I promise you, it will make your game, very enjoyable indeed.

This review shall be my parting gift to the developer and ♥♥♥♥ YOU VERY MUCH!
(never in my life have I written a game review with a foul word, this time, I use it glady in your face)

A Match-Three game in the genre of Candy Crush or Bejeweled, only with Marvel characters and micro transactions. There's a small storyline in there, but nothing exciting.
Once the novelty wore off, I uninstalled.

If you like Match-Three and you like Marvel, this may be right up your alley. For anyone else, it's a temporary distraction that you'll soon forget about.
