-
-----------This is my review account, because the low playtime.
Graphics:
+ huge, freely drivable game world
+ detailed trucks and pendants
- ugly horizon wallpaper
- sparse textures

Atmosphere:
+ dynamic day- and weather changes
+ heavy traffic
- lifeless environment
- no original vehicles

Sound:
+ polynuclear truck engine sound
- music on the menu only
- hardly any ambient noise
- no radio traffic

Balance:
+ tutorial
+ any time can be saved
+ shunting perspective
- protracted career
- only one level of difficulty

Driving Behavior:
+ realistic trucker feeling
+ tricky trailer uncoupling
- force-feedback effects are not always clear

AI:
+ credible simulated road traffic
- police checks are missing
- no direct competition

Tuning:
+ rudimentary truck upgrading
+ free paint selection
- significantly fewer options than its predecessors

Road Design:
+ varied landscapes
+ typical sights
- ridiculously small inner cities

Game Size:
+ solo playtime around 20 hours
+ mission objectives ensure red thread
+ southern and central europe passable
- relatively few kilometers of road

Multiplayer: No Multiplayer

What kind of progress against 18 Wheels of Steel: finally motivating missions, finally Europe as a game world, finally a new pretty graphics! But what incomprehensible regressed, especially when realism: Why do I have to do without suddenly on police checks, CB radio and a decent road network? trucker fans who just want to comfortably ride through Europe, have fun. A challenging simulation as 18 Wheels of Steel you should not expect.

Score: 65 / 100

Bought in a bundle, this is worth the buck or two spent especially if you have an older PC to play it on. ETS1 was a great idea and has been improved with the release of ETS2. Pros and cons of this game...

Pros: Graphics not bad for its day and you can play a short run in 10-15 mins. While getting in accidents, speeding, and running red lights gets you penalized, you can also play the jerk driver cutting other drivers off and hogging two lanes (which is almost a necessity if driving via keyboard). Hint for new players--get your hazardous cargo cert ASAP so you can make more money faster.

Cons: A careful study of the road map shows this game was unfinished. Back roads all over Poland, a few in Germany, and none anywhere else. When driving around, you see several overpasses that were likely intended to be used for backroads, but were left unconnected to anything. There are also loads of no-go zones in the cities, where AI vehicles can drive, but you cannot. Another minor complaint; the physics of the truck in a cloverleaf turn allow for too much drift and jackknifing the truck is easy to do, even at low speeds. I have learned to go real slow through these.

I am looking forward to playing ETS2, but if you have an older PC and/or a light wallet, you should give this game a whirl.

I don't know why, but this game makes me feel pretty good.
Maybe because its not that tense.
Or the fact that you are not running around shooting things like most games these days.
I am definetly getting the second one when I have enough money.
And yes, I would recommend it to anyone who wants a kinda-relaxing game instead of a tense game like first person shooters.

SCS Software specialised in making truck simulations from its humble beginnings back in 1997 with Hard Truck. From then on in, it concentrated on the American theater with its successful 18 Wheels of Steel series. This game, Euro Truck Simulator is the first of its kind hauling cargo throughout Europe and whilst it has the same feel as its cousin 18 Wheels of Steel, the simulation experience is not quite there as it does feel a little arcade. And if it wasn't for the career objectives, I probably enter this game into an early retirement.

The gameplay length is pretty much unlimited as there is no official ‘end’. You can literally go on forever however even the most dedicated truckie sim fan will eventually want to give up. However the game cleverly designed career progression chart, where you need to complete certain tasks to raise the ranks from being a novice to the master trucker. Five ranks in all and designed in a way to get the maximum usage for this game however it does take some considerable time to become the master. And because there are many feats (achievements) to earn, it provides you more reasons to play it so if it wasn't for those I'd probably give it a flick a lot sooner.

*25 nov 2014, 72%, Good made game, simulator gameplay where you delivered goods. Can be played 100% with mouse and keyboard or 20% controller / 80% MK. I think the only thing you can mapped to controller is driving, but it's good to do it, but not essential, it's not like you will drive at 250 km/hrs. This is a easy smooth game to play a 1 or 2 hours beetwen more challenging game, because like any simulator, it's a little bit addictive, you always want to do one more thing. Just an estimate, I tink the game have around many hours of gameplay, if you want to do everything. When finish, I don't see any replayability, unless you really like simulator game.

If you put the cursor on the game in Steam, and click manual on the right of the screen, it's pretty well made. There is also a few guides and walktrough made, but I don't think that you will need a guide, it's a pretty basic game. If you want to see the achievements list, go at www. gamefaqs.com where they have really good walktrough for almost any game and it's free. You have to look under cheats, but this just a list of the game achievements.

When I score game I always compare the game to the best game I have played overall, and I also compare it with the same kind of game that I have played. I start with Bethesda Elder Scroll Skyrim that I scored 95%(best game that I played for myself, and it's a game that have everything excellent, some peoples say that you cannot compare every game to Skyrim, but I saw Skyrim and it's 4 DLC at $ 13.99 on Steam, 75% off, even if I bought it full price when it went out. That meant at that price that every game can be compared to Skyrim), and I go down from there. For the scoring I look at : Control, Gameplay, Lenght of game, Story, Well made difficulty level, Music, Graphics, Voice acting, and finally Sound effect. I also like when I a play game, to have a good fun experience, and that also count in the scoring.

SCORING : 90+ Excellent / 80+ Really Good / 70+ Good /60+ Missed 1 or 2 thing to be good / 60- Missed many thing to be good. This is why I Gave that score.

English Review
This game is really good. I will say this most fundamental to ETS2 it decides it does not. Graphics good maneuverability can be. Ability to add your own music, the opportunity to complete missions, purchase of tractors. In this game, there are minor errors as little discretion on the map, faint sounds of tractors, loans, but all that's missing is the ETS2.
My rating 9/10.

Slovak Review
Moje hodnotenie 9/10.

Drive drive drive! All I can say really! Ity's one hell of a challenge to get the hang of your vehicles controls at the beginning. The stearing has to turn farther than most games to do a sharp turn and using a mouse and keyboard makes for inaccurate turning. I recommend if you wish to play this game to its fullest that you own a steering wheel for the PC or a controller so you can slowly eas in and out of turns.

I recommend if you enjoy driving around but it really isn't much more then a truck driving simulator.

This is an amazing game, and i recommend this game for people who can't afford the 2 or for people who are Mac users (i'm a mac user too) , although if you can get the 2 with a windows it is much better. I hope the creators of this game will make a Mac version for Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS: This is still a really good game for its time, hope you like it as much as i do.

oh you think that was a nice piece there, eh? i'll tell you something, i got an exit book here, shows the best steak on any mile of interstate in the whole pig-friggin country. shows every decent motel and a few indecent ones. shows where to get a new axle at four in the moring. trucking bible. well, I got another little book i wrote up myself. sort of an exit and entrance book, if you get me. shows me where every piece of gas i ever picked up is. i can get paid inside ten minutes just about anywhere in the trucking world. it's all in the book. this one chick though, i'll never forget it. moved her gas like a blender. hitch simply could not get enough. buck and scream like a wild animal. every time i go through jersey i stoop in for a taste. the one thing i can't stand is when they get all emotional about it. want you to call 'em and write 'em. when i'm gone, i'm gone. i'll take 'em with me for a while, we ride, then truck, then ride. ive burned out three mattresses in the cab-over up there. that one though. she was wild.

This is by no means your conventional "good" game. It features shoddy controls, irritating AI, eyesore textures, and a painfully bland rendition of Europe.

Which makes it all the more frustrating how gratifying and addictive this game is. It doesn't add up. It shouldn't add up. But my God, this amalgamation of truckery engrains itself in your every being. Beware, and don't say I didn't warn you when you end up blowing all your real-life money on caffeine pills and truck stop breakfasts after playing this.
