What Happened to the Humans?

Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off machines, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, a stoic robot who values his solitude and independence. Horatio spends his days studying the Book of Man, sparring with his droid companion Crispin, and tinkering with the airship they call home — a peaceful existence that becomes threatened when a rogue robot steals the energy source that the pair needs to survive.

When Horatio and Crispin’s search for energy brings them to the dazzling city of Metropol, the simple quest to recover their stolen power core leads to unexpected discoveries about Horatio’s origins and a new understanding of the legendary humans who walked the earth before him.

I loved this game. A story that doesn't focus on humans but the things we left behind. A great story, simple but it holds your interest. The puzzles are easy for the most part a few with well hidden clues might cause a few problems. Not to hard to figure out if you think about them though. The main characters are lovable crispin is the comic relief and Horatio is the serious one but he cracks a few jokes. I can't really give it justice it's one of those games you have to play on your own to understand.

This game will forever be in my list of favourite games.
The story, the art, the voice acting, the WORLD and all of it so genuine. Even though all those aspects arn't speical to gaming, all these strengths would not be so powerful in any other medium. You live in this world, and it's just the right amount of familiar and so foreign. At least for me.

If I ever stop recommending this game it will be too soon.

The only reason for my negative review is the crippled drawing style. Can't believe why a game developer would voluntary make it so unrecognizable, even for a retro looking game. The screenshots were just misleading to me.

Wow! Just as good as any great 1991 era point and click adventure. Story, atmosphere, characters, art -- and it has like 7 different endings, and they were all great. Super recommend.

Primordia is by far one of the best point and click games I have ever played, I continue to play the game over and over again so I can re-experience all this world has to offer. While playing I envision what it would be like if the game had been expanded on, what the robot city would be like, what puzzles you would have had to solve, would you have ever made it back to the tower? I dream and wonder but for now, I enjoy the game <3

Robots, dunes, exploration, mystery..... yea you need to play this.

Almost since the decline of professional adventure games, fans have been making their own games. These have varied wildly in quality, but in more recent years indie studios such as Wadjet Eye Games have managed to churn out charming retro games with regularity. They generally strike the right balance in difficulty, the hand-painted art is often beautiful, and the stories are often interesting. These games are not for everyone, of course, as games of this sort may seem "dated" or slow to modern gamers

To me, Primordia exemplifies the best aspects of most retro adventure games, with wonderful graphics (again, in a low res way that some appreciate more than others) and classic point and click exploration. Primordia, however, distances itself from its peers through superior story, characters, and story structure. The basic premise is an interesting one, and game designer and writer Mark Yohalem develops that premise expertly and meticulously. The world unfolds naturally as you join Horatio and Crispin on their adventure. The themes are more complex and nuanced than what you will see in most games. The puzzles feel true to the world rather than thrown in just because you have to have them.

This is, in my opinion, the best game published by Wadjet Eye, and one of the best adventure games in recent memory. If you're interested in going out on a limb and try an adventure game, consider trying this one. If you're already a fan of retro games or thoughtful sci-fi, this is a no-brainer.

A whimsical tale of mystery and discovery about a robot and his companion forging a path as fate would have it to uncover the blurred grey line between myth and truth through difficult choices, puzzles, and a rich and compelling story line. take a pixelated adventure into Primordia; one of the best games ive played in years.
buy it. you wont be disappointed.

It's like Beneath a Steel Sky, but with androids. It follows all the same beats. The hero and his tin can of a sidekick being attacked in the desert. A journey to the big city where things seem a bit off. And...well anything more than that would be spoilers.

The puzzles aren't too frustrating, just remember to check the sides of each screen for a transition zones. I got stuck in the first chapter just because there was a room I'd never been to and I didn't know was there.

A beautifully illustrated post-appocalyptic adventure with robots, conspiracy, and brilliant social commentary. It' not super long and the puzzles are tough, but it's a great adventure. If you've got some cash and time to kill with a penchant for puzzles, you can't go wrong with this game.

Easily one of the more interesting Point and Clicks I have played recently.

I bought this game for $2 or something when it was on sale a long time ago, and finally got around to playing it.

First of all: I don't typically enjoy point-and-click games. I haven't played very many of them, and I usually get frustrated with the puzzles and either look up a guide (which kind of defeats the point) or quit.

I LOVED Primordia. Maybe it scratched the right itch at the right time, but I enjoyed every second of this game. The puzzles are challenging, but not frustrating (the only times that I had to look something up were just because I didn't realize I could scroll down on my data pack, for example, or that I could interact with an object in a certain way. For everything else, Crispin's hints were more than enough). It's gorgeous and thought-provoking. The voice acting was excellent and really brought all of the characters to life. The world is endlessly interesting. Looking at the achievements after my first playthrough, it also seems that there is a great deal to discover that I missed my first time around, which is good, because in my desire to experience more of this world I will probably play through it at least one more time.

A lot of reviews have commented on it feeling a bit short, and I'm tempted to agree. The second half of the game in particular feels a bit rushed, but it seems to have more to do with there being lots of questions to answer, and they all get answered in a shotgun blast at once that seems to detract from the feeling of discovery that permiates the rest of the game. However, if the only bad thing I have to say about a game is "I wanted more..." is it really a bad thing after all?

Primordia is very literary. It's a game about the preservation of individuality within an increasingly communist society. It's about one's "design," and whether or not it's possible to act against it. It's about friendship, religion, creation, preservation, degeneration, and hope.

Do yourself a favor and play this game.
