Patch 1.0.125 - Save & Continue

It took us a while but we found the bug that affected the Save & Continue feature. Now it should support all quests.
If you leave the game from a the map menu, you will be able to continue playing later from that point.

- We also tweaked the higher difficulty settings to make em a bit more forgiving. We would like to hear from players about these higher difficulty settings. Are they too hard right now?

- Translations updated with latest revisions by the community (thanks everybody!).

“Full Mojo Rampage could be the next great rogue-like. I had the privilege to play a few hours with the alpha version and came away, for the most part, pleased. The game plays very similar to a more expansive version of Binding of Isaac, but instead of using a keyboard to shoot projectiles, players utilize a mouse. The magic shooting feels very smooth and intuitive. The pace of the combat is fairly fast and, at times, can turn into a bullet hell very quickly.”

“Its already really solid, its got a lot of good content even tough its only in alpha...”

“The alpha is surprisingly polished, mostly lacking in content and minor tweaks. Over The Top Games may have a top quality AAA indie title growing in their offices.”

About This Game

Full Mojo Rampage is a rogue-like game that takes place within the confines of the Voodoo reality. In this realm only the most powerful rites and powers can provide a safeguard against evil. Dying is not the end, only the beginning to becoming a stronger voodoo soul!

The game includes several multiplayer cooperative and competitive modes to play with friends.

Key Features

  • Randomly-generated items and levels in beautiful 3D. Not two playthroughs will be the same.
  • Improve your character by leveling up and unlocking voodoo pins that you can use and upgrade to receive special bonuses.
  • Online Co-op: Up to 4 players can play together each campaign.
  • Multiplayer VS modes: Play online with up to 8 players in fiersome battles. (Current modes available: deathmatch, team deathmatch, Capture the Flag, King of Mojo). Level up and customize your character to show your friends who is the best!
  • Tons of items and unlockables: masks, pins, mojos and power-ups.
  • Unique “class” system that revolves around choosing a voodoo god each with their own special powers and attributes.
  • Music composed by Alistar Lindsay (Prison Architect).
  • Several easter eggs from our favorite games!

    The Quests

    • When you start a new game you can select which quest you want to do. Each quest has a different story, goal and setting. The quest map and each individual level is randomly generated, so you can replay the game and be challenged each time.
    • Quests include: campaign quests, daily quest, survival and survival unlimited.

    Customizing Your Character

    • After choosing a quest you will be able to customize your character.
    • In this screen you can choose a mask, a parent god and the voodoo pins you want to carry. In one of the last updates we added "Blessings" as an extra expensive buff for the current quest you want to play.
    • Each god has a set of spells that define how you play the game. There are 8 voodoo Loa you can unlock.
    • Voodoo Pins are very important. They provide unique bonuses that will help you in the game. At the beginning you wont have any pins unlocked, but by playing you will unlock them and with the gained gold you can upgrade them. The number of pins you can select at the same time will increase as you progress in the adventure.
    • In this menu you can also level up your character once you have enough experience. Experience is gained by exploring, progressing through the levels and doing events.

    The Dungeon Map

    • The dungeon map is randomly generated. The icons represent cemeteries, swamps, bosses, events, vendors and shrines.
    • There are many events that are quite fun and have some surprises, so make sure to visit all the "?" icons as those are special challenges for your current game.

    • Each level is randomly generated with enemies and secrets.
    • In future updates we plan to add some crafting or mixing options to customize your items.
    • Levels have doors to vendors, god shrines and mixing rooms: the more you explore the more prepared you are for the dungeons!
    • In this world death is around every corner, though do not fret! Dying is not an end, and rather only a means of becoming a stronger voodoo soul! Being a practitioner of voodoo has nourished your soul with immortality. As such, any gold and experience you earn will persist with your character through death itself. Use this gold and experience earned to buy new pins and the favor of Loa to progress through even harder challenges!

This game was reviewed using a code sent by the developer.

Just wanted to point out first that my game time that has been recorded on Steam is incorrect. I have spent at least eight hours playing this game.

Full Mojo Rampage is a rogue-like game that has similar traits to that of Binding of Isaac and another top-down game, Torchlight. The game was released in mid 2014. Although the game promotes co-op game play, the game's servers are pretty empty when trying to find a multiplayer game; with that being said, the game is still mega fun to play solo.

You take control of a Voodoo master; game play is a top down shooter where you have a normal attack, and two special attacks which are different for each class. At the start of the game you have a very basic class but you are able to unlock extra classes as you progress by using medals which you collect throughout the game and by finishing quests. The gameplay is very simple, but extremely addictive. As you explore each of the randomly generated levels you run into plenty of enemies to test your voodoo magic on. The game is also very loot orientated too, you start out with an initial two equitable item slots; most of the items which you equip will be voodoo dolls, these will increase your stats. You also have three inventory slots which can hold items such as extra ability items (such as boost speed for a certain amount of time etc).

The graphics are awesome. It has that childlike aesthetic but still very pleasing to look at. The cartoony stylized characters have some great models and animation on each of the characters/enemies are also very good.

At times in the game I struggled with the difficulty; but then I remembered that it is a rogue-like, and you are meant to die. Thankfully dying is not a massive issue in Major Rampage as you get to keep all of your money, experience and levels each time. This means you are able to build up your character to the point where it is very hard to die on the same bit over and over again. This also gives you the opportunity to fine tweak your character to exactly how you want to play it.

Each of the levels appears to be randomly generated, I can't remember seeing the same layout twice. In each of the levels there are also extra rooms around the map to go into which include shops to buy potions, or new voodoo dolls, hidden chests with coins and items in, or the feature which I really liked, the ability to combine two voodoo dolls into one, which then frees up another slot in your equipped-able items.

A full playthrough of all the quests on one single character took me about five hours from start to finish. You also get the chance to replay the levels all over again on Brutal difficulty which gives you the chance to increase your characters level even further. With the option of being able to unlock other characters the replay-ability factor in Full Mojo Rampage is very high.

I really recommend Full Mojo Rampage to any fan of the dungeon crawling, rogue-like genre as the single player is very well done and will keep you wanting to progress further and further each time. Sadly I found it very difficult to find a game online, but being able to play with friends on co-op mode maybe another redeeming factor here.

"While not quite as frantic as Super Smash TV, Full Mojo Rampage’s Roguelite features help prolong its expected gameplay length as there are only four quests to undertake. The most egregious issue however, is the general lack of an online community in a game that would have heavily benefited from it, made even worse by an incomplete local co-op option. With that said Full Mojo Rampage’s single player portion is a lot of fun as you explore each stage extensively for new and better loot."

This is a game that doesn't seem to catch the eye at first. But when you actually play it, every doubt you have about it disappears. It's a lot like Binding of Issac only with an open world feel to it. There are challenges with every few steps you take. Each storyline level gets harder everytime you beat it, you could call it borderline chaos. You level up your character to increase stats like health, damage, and attack rate to help you along your journey. Different weapons can be obtained, different helpers, and these amazing little gifts known as blessings.

This is also a great game to play with friends because as the levels get harder, you're going to need all the help you can get. When you die you start over but you keep all the experience you gained which is a nice little feature. I give this a 9/10

Really excellent co-op shooter, somewhere between Gauntlet and Diablo 3. Very challenging, you need to be a decent twitch gamer to play this on hard. A very polished game for the price too, it looks absolutely lush. 9/10 easy.
