Fire Strike Ultra - world's first 4K Ultra HD benchmark

The buzz around 4K gaming continues to grow, but can the latest hardware really deliver? And are the extra pixels worth the extra cost?

To answer those questions, we've created Fire Strike Ultra, the world's first 4K Ultra HD benchmark, available now in the paid version of 3DMark. Sorry demo users, you'll need to upgrade if you want to run Fire Strike Ultra.

Fire Strike Ultra renders the test content at 3840 x 2160 (4K Ultra HD) before scaling the output to your PC's display resolution. This means you don't need a 4K monitor to run Fire Strike Ultra, though you will need a GPU with at least 3 GB of dedicated memory.

You will be able to search for and compare Fire Strike Ultra scores for different hardware configurations on our website. And here on Steam, there's a new Fire Strike Ultra leaderboard where you can compete for the highest score.

Sky Diver - For gaming laptops and mid-range PCs
Sky Diver is a DirectX 11 benchmark that is ideal for testing mainstream graphics cards, mobile GPUs, integrated graphics and other systems that cannot achieve double-digit frame rates in the more demanding Fire Strike test.

Cloud Gate - For notebooks and home PCs
Use Cloud Gate to test the performance of notebooks and typical home PCs. Cloud Gate uses a DirectX 11 engine limited to Direct3D feature level 10, making it suitable for testing DirectX 10 compatible hardware.

Ice Storm - For tablets and entry-level PCs
Use Ice Storm to test the performance of your Windows tablet, ultra-portable notebook or entry-level PC. Ice Storm uses a DirectX 11 engine limited to Direct3D feature level 9, making it the ideal benchmark for modern portable devices. Ecxellent tool for benchmarking! You can test your pc at 4k, or more like torture you pc at 4k. 2560X1440p is what you should shoot for. It will still be a while before pc's will be able to play 60 fps at 4k (without 4 gpu's).

this is great to compare your system to others and really push it to its limits. Especially now that you can test your system at 4K without having a 4K monitor to see if you even have a chance of playing games at 4K is a cool feature. This is also great to test how much of a performance increase your overclocking will get you.

Great tool for testing the stability of your pc.
The free version is great for people who do this incidentally, the pro version is more usefull if you do this on a regular basis.

This product is approved for NVIDIA products, I have two AMD GPU(CrossfireX 8GB) and it keeps telling my system is crappier than a single card 1GB However I know friends who have that card and can't even play Wolfenstein. While I can play it without a stutter, Its a biasted program and I am disappointed that I can't even unlock its achievements because of I am not an NVIDIA person.

Seeing as with help, Ive just built a new PC i was looking at how this computer compares to the rest of the population, this is an amazing tool for benchmarking, with loads of infogrpahs and data about your system and ways to get the most out of the hardware you own. My next task is to try and get overclocking and get over 9000 on fire strike, so close (just registered 8800) lol.

You press a button, some purty pictures appear, after some time it displays some cryptic numbers, and then, for whatever reason, you've got a warm fuzzy feeling inside :p 10/10
