Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!

Hello everyone!

The 1.1.3 patch is now available! We’ve taken our time over the past couple of weeks to tackle as many issues as we could in this patch and the results speak for themselves: close to 100 fixes have been logged compared to the previous version of KSP, and we even found time to hide something small in the game that we’re sure a lot of long time fans will appreciate!

Check out the full changelog at our Forums.

Patch 1.1.2 is now available!

Hello everyone!

We noticed a number of issues persisted through the 1.1.1 patch earlier this week. We’re releasing patch 1.1.2 to address these issues before we head off to a long overdue vacation for the next couple of weeks. Patch 1.1.2 addresses issues with the user interface and landing legs, amongst others.

Check out the full changelog on our forums.

The Patch will start downloading through your Steam client automatically.

About This Game

In KSP you must build a space-worthy craft, capable of flying its crew out into space without killing them. At your disposal is a collection of parts, which must be assembled to create a functional ship. Each part has its own function and will affect the way a ship flies (or doesn't). So strap yourself in, and get ready to try some Rocket Science!

The game offers three gameplay modes: Sandbox, in which you are free to build anything you can think of; Science Mode, which lets you perform Scientific experiments to advance the knowledge of Kerbalkind and further the available technology; and Career Mode, in which you must manage every aspect of your Space Program, including administration strategies, Crew Management, Reputation, as well as taking up Contracts to earn Funds and upgrade your Space Center Facilities (or repair them).

Add to this the ability to capture asteroids (a feature done in collaboration with NASA), Mining for resources out across the furthest reaches of the Solar System, Constructing Bases and Space Stations in and around other worlds; plus literally thousands of mods from a huge active modding community, all add up into the award-winning game that has taken the space sim genre by storm.

Key Features

  • The Vehicle Assembly Building and the Space Plane Hangar allows players to build spacecraft out of any imaginable combination of parts.
  • Fully-fledged, Physics-based Space Flight Simulation ensures everything will fly (and crash) as it should.
  • Take your Kerbal crew out of the ship and do Extra Vehicular Activities.
  • Fly out to Moons and other Planets.
  • Procedural Terrain delivers detailed terrain at a vast scale. The Kerbal Planet is 600km in radius!
  • Mod-enabled, allows players to create new content and modify the game.
  • Ship systems. Keep an eye out for engine temperatures and fuel levels, and try not to explode.
  • Build ships with multiple stages, and jettison parts away as they burn out.
  • Full control over the ship’s setup allows for complex ships and advanced functionality.
  • Dock spacecraft together to build Space Stations, Massive Starships, or even surface bases on other worlds.
  • Manage your crewmembers, hire them, and send them out into space and make them into heroes.
  • Research and Develop new technologies to advance your Space Program.
  • Take on Missions to attract interest in your Space Program.
  • Discover new worlds and expand the scientific knowledge of Kerbalkind.
  • Extract valuable resources from all over the solar system.
  • And a whole lot more!

Simply the most phenomenal game ever created.

You will fail. You will get frustrated. You will get angry. The learning curve in Kerbal Space Program is astronomical. It took me days of playing before I put my first craft into orbit. A week before I reached the Mun. A month before I mastered rendezvous and docking. Never once, however, was I ever bored. You are, after all, developing your own space program. One small step for man, one giant step for Kerbal kind.

You build, you launch, you fly, and you crash. You conduct SCIENCE and develop new rocket parts to build, and fly, and crash. And, eventually, in one moment, you sit back and take in the overwhelmingly divine view of your space station that took 30 launches and countless hours to create as the Sun comes across the horizon of Kerban and illuminates your incredible feat of engineering. It is then that you take in the full breadth of space exploration in the real world, and in one massive, clarifying moment, you applaud the scientists, astronauts, and engineers for their breath taking accomplishments in exploring our own solar system.

If you find yourself on the academic path to the space industry, you quickly realize how many parallels you can draw between Kerbal Space Program gameplay and the real world. Suddenly, you are more qualified than others around you to answer fundamental questions about space flight. Even more so than your colleagues that are studying the topic.

Kerbal Space Program is more than just a video game. It teaches you. I have never before, and probably never again will, encounter a video game that will help develop my skillset as an engineer. The intuition for space travel that this game has given me is unparalleled, and is more than any classroom can teach.

If you are in any college and have any intent on working in the space industry in the future, buy this game. Now.
If you are at all interested in space, buy this game. Now.

This game is quite possibly the best game; in that I have put countless hours in this game, and have yet to accomplish anything. The way this game feels is nigh comparable to the likes of another space exploration game that has recently emerged, one that I wish not to name in hope of stalling the inevetable flame war, but is, in my opinion, stand alone. 9.5/10 nothing is perfect, but this game comes damn close.

Ok, i've got lots of thinks to say about KSP, but I'll try to be clear, so let's begin!
This game nowadays is the best flight simulator i ever seen.
The potentials of this game are endless, you can do everything you want!
But this game wouldn't be the same without its community.
The KSP's comunnity is on of the best comunnity in the game's world!!
Seriously! I don't have many hours on the game (I hope not for too long ;) but i've never seen rude persons (yes, you'll say "This game is only Single Player!") but, trust me, the community is amazing!
I'd like to thank everyone who helped me when I started playing.
There are tons of useful mod, and if you have any questions, certainly there will be an answer in some forums or in some webpage.
Buy this game absolutely, specially if you are smart and you like to planning and studying the wounderfull game's mechanics.

Be Jebidiah Kerman
You cannot control your destiny
You ride rockets to infinity
and beyond you crash

Be Me
Build rockets that have no sense
Somehow it orbits
start the descent
heat builds
landing gear destroyed and lost to the inferno
deploy chutes
first chute gone lost in the flame
second chute holds but does not slow
third deploys
the last hope
hit the ground and the science pod explodes
but hey, Jeb is ok!
