64 bit Windows build is live

Hey guys, we just flipped the switch to enable the 64 bit build of Tiny & Big on Windows. This hopefully means a few good things for those of you running 64 bit Windowses:

  • Physics performance will improve on modern CPUs, we've seen frame rates go up by about 10%
  • Less out-of-memory errors or crashes when running on integrated graphics chips
  • The sweet, fuzzy feeling that your 64 bit hardware purchases are just a little bit more justified.
If it doesn't work for you, especially for those of you running 32 bit Windows, please tell us in the forums. Thanks!

And one more little thing, we recently enabled Steam leaderboards for the game, so you can compare your awesome puzzle solving speed-runs. Enjoy!

I bought this game for less than a dollar during last year's winter sale. I didn't fully know what to expect, but after seeing the laser cutting mechanic in the first 10 seconds of the trailer, I was sold on my purchase. This game does not disappoint! All three tool mechanics are widely used in the game in multiple ways, so gameplay never falters, even when replaying. Discovering secrets and extras is exceptionally rewarding, occasionally leading you to decimate entire cliff faces in an attempt to get that one stone down at the bottom and then climb back up again, only downside is saving is checkpoint-based. All in all, I feel that no other game gives the temple-desecration-puzzle elements of this game, and at any price, it's a worthy pickup. I would definitely buy a sequel at full price, if it was a little longer.

Silly story, nice to cut and slice objects, a bit short main storyline.

Goodlooking graphics, lot to explore , cut, and collect besides the main storyline.
Many achievements to unlock.

Even tho it is not really my type of game, I did enjoy playing it.

It was suprising for me ,but this little indie game really had me hooked i played throught the story and it was suprisingly enjoyable. The game has lots of cool mechanics and nice puzzles you have to solve to finish the levels. Only thing is that i think the game need a better name.... Definatly well worth the money!

Pretty rad game mechanics where you can cut the level apart with a laser and drag the pieces around with a grappling hook or attach rockets to them and launch them.

It's got a pretty quirky art style and story.

Took me about 2.5 hours to beat. Not bad for a game I got for next to nothing in a Humble Bundle eons ago.

Everyone who is searching for a unique expierence will find it here. Seriously I am not joking no indi pseudo unique real unique . It is rather short so I recomend picking it up when it is on a sale.

The Characters are Lovely the Music is nice and different, some fresh air. The Puzzling is more than itneresting and cutting edge. Actually there is allot of cutting involved.

Cool games very good mission and plot, the graphics are not the best but give it a child-friendly outcast. The name is really what lets the game down.

Short, but quite fun. I spent most of my time just messing around, or trying to complete a level the hardest way possible

Tiny and Big: Grandpa's Leftovers is one of the most unique games I have ever played.

Gameplay:

The main game mechanic, on which all gameplay is based off of, is slicing (with your awesome laser slicer), pulling, and pushing pieces of... well... stuff - statues, pillars, blocks, walls, floors, just about anything. It's super fun, fluid, and addictive, and what really defines this game.

Story:

The story is quite simple, Tiny (who you play as) is looking for his Grandpa's white, fine rib underpants - who Big (your arch nemesis) is wearing.

Graphics:

The artstyle in this game is unique and gorgeous, I've never seen a game with a similar artstyle, so I can't give you an example. Watching a video is OK to get an idea of what it's like, but when you're in-game is when the graphics really shine. So yeah, the art is fantastic, but don't expect Crysis 3-esque graphics, the highlight in the graphical department is the artstyle, not textures, lighting or any of that.

Audio:

The sound effects are satisfying, and are complimented with cartoony "BANG", "SMASH" and "FIZZLE" pop-ups. The soundtrack is fan-f*cking-tastic, you add to the soundtrack by collecting tapes in-game, and they're all (in my opinion) awesome. I would recommend getting the game+soudtrack version, but first search YouTube for some tracks from the game to see if it's your kind of thing.

Some other stuff:

I finished the game in almost 4 hours, but i have nowhere near 100% completion - the game is full with stuff to collect - tapes, and tons of rocks (yeah, you collect these special rocks). So if you take you time to enjoy the game, have fun with the slicing, and make an effort to find secrets (there are secret rooms with easter egg-ish stuff in them), you can probably sink almost 15 hours into the game in one playthrough.

Also, I would say the game deservees a higher score than metacritic's 75, it's a real Indie pearl.

Definetly recommend! Have fun!
