Its pretty fun, I mean it's a little hard to control at first but all in all good.

Pros:
Good Characters
Interesting story
It's nice to be able to Cover

Cons:
Voice Regonizition
Not being able to change your setting while playing as most of the settings are unbarable at the begining
Its really loud.

I'd say considering I got this game for free on a Sega deal thing that it's a 9/10

Pretty good game, the only things that annoyed me is friendly AI getting in the way when you shoot, if you shoot them, they dislike you a little, which ruins character development progression towards endgame changes. The other thing is some of the bosses in this game are simply just broken mechanic-wise. Some of them one hit kill you easily and then won't even let you get off the ground without getting 1 hit to the ground again, which is damn annoying.

It is as if you are playing a fighting game, the npc corners you and starts spamming the same move over and over again, there are a few npcs in this game that follow the same path, except they will 1 hit you. Sometimes you can dodge, some other times you can't dodge. Best way to avoid getting caught is to run away for a mile and hope the boss doesn't catch up so fast so you have time to deal some damage.

Other than this, i had a blast playing the game, pretty funny, good characters, good storyline. I really did enjoy playing it, i feel bad for only playing it now as i've had this game for a long time. I hope there will be a sequel to this game, it diserves the attention.

I went into this game with fairly low expectations, thinking it was just going to be a middle of the road shooter with meh story. For the first half hour to and hour that's that I got, but after that the game took off and turned out to be quite the diamond in the rough.

The combat is your standard run and cover style where you're equipped with your primary assault rifle, a secondary (shot gun, sniper, etc.), pistol, and grenade type. This in it self isn't that great, but when you take into consideration you can dismantle enemies it becomes more interesting. If you shoot off their legs they crawl at you, blow off their arms they run in an kick you, snipe their head they become "friendly" since they don't know who their shooting at anymore. This mechanic saves the meh combat system as you can do some interesting things with it. The boss battles are pretty bad though, often one-shoting you as your teammate just run around yelling at you and telling you where ammo is. The controlls are also a bit wonky, like middle mouse button reload, but it's not that bad once you understand it. But in all honesty you shouldn't buy this game for the combat, you should buy it for the story and characters.

Throughout the game you get introduced to more and more characters you can take with you in your squad during the chapters. You build, or lose, trust with them and can get several different endings to the game depending on this trust level. Nearly all of them are memorable, are well thought out, and amazingly voiced. The over all story had some good unforeseen plot twists as well, making me think it was over about three times before pulling another one out to keep the game going. This is defiantly what you should get the game for.

There is also the unique mechanic of voice recognition. Yep, you can talk to your NPC teammates. This is how you build that trust with your squad during battle and the interactive cut scenes. Did they get a sweet headshot? Praise them with a "Nice!" or "Sweet!". Are they too far ahead? tell them to "Regroup." Do you want to confess you undying love for Big Bo? tell him "Love You" of "Looking Pretty Sweet". That being said it can also backfire. I'm not sure if it was something in my set up, but it kept getting my voice lines wrong or not registering them all together. I'd try and tell my team to charge and someone thought I called them an "Idiot" and just yelled at me and stopped following orders. I'm a streamer though so the audience, and I found it hilarious, this might be annoying for you.

Over all this is a really good game, a truly overlooked gem.

Binary Domain is a fun third person cover shooter. Originally this game came onto shelves during the big Gears of War hype back in the day and it was surprising to see it was from Sega. Now we all know that Sega is very hit and miss with their products however this is definately not a miss. It is a fun fast paced 6 hour third person shooter. What makes this game so great is the enemies that you fight which are robots. Now normally in games you shoot robots and they fall down but not here. You fire your machine gun and these robots EXPLODE into bits and pieces and it is so gratifiying when this happens. Really makes you feel like a badass. The story itself is alright and voice actting is hit or miss though some of the writing has some pretty bad racial discrimination against Chinese but since it was made by Japanese I can see why. The game also includes voice commands which you can either use your voice or button commands and this is a big part of the system since there is a friendship system which does effect the ending of the game. It does work pretty well with the voice part and it is funny telling your tell "LOVE YOU" all the time to creep them out. Anyways if you have a chance to grab this I highly recommend it if your looking for a quick action game with some playthrough.

Will Binary Domain absolutely blow you away: No.
Will it be a fun game? Yes.

An FPS with some light RPG elements, an adequate plot, decent voice acting, and fun boss battles, this is absolutely worth some of your time. Just don't expect it to be the greatest FPS game you've ever played.

I bought a Humble Bundle a while back which included Binary Domain. I didn't think much of it nor know anything about the game. Fast forward 3 months, I decided to take a break from multiplayer games and start playing my huge, unplayed library of games. I picked Binary Domain not expecting much from a Sega shooter running $15 on Steam. I was in for a real surprise. I just completed the game last night after a 3 day run through of the game. Before I get into details, let me sum the game up in one sentence. Binary Domain somehow unexpectdly trumphs most modern AAA $60 titles in many different aspects such as story, character development, gameplay, and more. The story of this game didn't seem like much starting out, but completing it last night I have to say this is one of the best stories I've played in a while. The plot is believable, and it's filled with plenty wtf moments. The characters connect with you, and they show emotion; something you just don't see in modern AAA games. The gameplay, while not 100% perfect, is refreshing and a classic 3rd person shooter feel. I'd say it's a mix of Dead Space 3, Gears of War, and Resident Evil 5. Once you master it, the game comes to live in a fluid yet cinematic manner that contributes to the story. The game was ported from console if I stand correct, but it's certainly not a bad console port. Playing the game in 4K60fps max settings on an IPS panel is a treat and it truly brings the characters to life. The game overall reminds me of the way you feel after reading a good book, it's satisfying. All in all, Sega did a good job bringing a quality story at an incredible $15 price point ($4 on sale) that rivals today's AAA titles.

The controls can feel a bit off, at least when using a mouse and keyboard to play, but other than that minor issue this game is a thoroughly entertaining cover based shooter.

Binary Domain is SEGA's foray into the 3rd Person Cover Shooter genre. It is a roughly 10 hours long game with an enjoyable action movie writing and presentation. As Sgt Dan Marshall, part of a multinational elite anti-robot team, you will battle hordes of military robots and crazy mecha bosses while attemptint to stop a rogue corporation building illegal AI robots. The game is a thoroughly enjoyable affair that I would strongly recommend to gamers who enjoy the shooter genre in general. It basically takes the Gears of War formula, and improves on it with more gadgets, weapons, weapon upgrades, voice commands and a squad trust mechanic that ultimately alters the game's ending depending on which squad members trust you to what degree. This would also be a good point to note its shortcomings, I guess: The voice command system is rather problematic (but thankfully totally optional), the cover mechanics obviously needed a lot more polish (running into cover does not automatically lean you against it like Gears of War, and I found myself desperately trying to get in or out of cover more times than I would have liked), the enemies are bullet sponges (but that usually is not much of a worry because it has been handled well; they are armored and as you shoot you peel off armor plates, concentrated fire on specific limbs can result in dismemberment) and the campaign is a bit short. All in all, it's a great experience, a totally underrated game and a solid recommendation from me. Two thumbs up.

This game...Is surprisingly fun and plays around with some interesting concepts!
Don't get me wrong the gameplay is OKAY but the real gem is the story, characters are surprisingly solid and actually have personality and there are some twists that aren't completely obvious 3 hours before they happen. The world is quite beautiful. Because it's a given from the start, robots that think they're human experience emotion not even knowing they're robots themselves even sensing like humans and able to suffer. Tell me that's not an interesting topic to be centered around
Voice commands are an interesting idea but...yeah...they're quite bad

Dead honest I got this in a humble bundle and let it dust in the backlog, now I regret not playing it sooner
Definitely pick this up on a sale it's worth it

This game feels like an unfinished Mass Effect. It has a great potential. To be honest, the best thing in Binary Domain is a story. The second thing that saves it is a humour. Gameplay feels ok, I hardly can find something to complain about. But controls are wierd.
Binary Domain became interesting for me after the first story video during the Chapter I. And while you can find a ton of strange things in events.. I can say that story is a strong part of this game. Also it has multiple endings and memorable characters.
Buy this game while it is on sale. As for a rating, I can give it a 7/10. Not a masterpiece, but a solid product.

- Any last words?
- Yeah, tell your mamma I loved her

In short about the game
I was thinking should I buy this game or not, but It's so godd*mn worth it

Storyline
I can't explain how awesome it is, but campaing will never let you boring, so many unexpected moment, few ending, and a good choice of characters. Storyline written very good, and I will not mistake if I say, that the best story line I ever saw (I played a lot of games, as people saying "I saw a lot of sh*t")

Characters
I really like characters, everyone special, and charismatic.
There is a "trust level" for every character, wich is affect on walkthrough, so if you shot them, trust level will fall, if you will help them, it will go up.
(ATTANTINON,SPOILERS, DONT LOOK THERE IF YOU DONT WANT ANY SPOILERS)
I like that British guy, because of his accent, and I like Cain, really good character
(ITS FINE NOW, NO SPOILERS)

Gameplay
Nice battle system, hide and shot(maybe because I was playing on hard difficulty), I like a boss battles. But they all different, but battle tactic still the same.

Multiplayer
Well, I didnt play it, because it is dead(no one is playing)

Total, what we have?
Very good game with dinamic gameplay, and awesome storyline.

I'm glad to give it 11/10 excellent hours of playing this game.

Great GREAT game. I really did not expect it to be a solid shooter. I had a couple of my companions die and will be sure to play through it again, to avoid the tears.

I killed a ♥♥♥♥ing Godzilla sized robot all alone, then my teammate complained that I did a very bad job... so I insulted her and now she don't trust me anymore...

Still an amazing game, if you liked the movie "I, robot" you should like this game too.

A very underrated game.

Better than most of those revered AAA titles. Solid shooting plus a tad generic "i need a robot to examine my humanity" story.
