Reviews

IGN: 9/10 - Editors Choice - "A qualified triumph for veterans of the first game and newcomers alike."

Gamespy: 4.5/5 - Editors Choice - "Just as a good sequel should be, Orcs Must Die! 2 is everything I love about the original and more: great art and personality, clever puzzles and green meat-grinding traps, and now with the added bonus of easy-to-use, Steam-powered co-op."

Destructoid: 9.0 - "A year ago, I couldn’t imagine another game mixing tower defense and third-person action as well as Orcs Must Die! Clearly, I was wrong."

Its a fun game, its a good game, its just not worth more than $10 due to lack of sustaining content and replayability. Its basically just a rethemed / 2 player coop / inferior version / of Dungeon Defenders.

Awesome challenging unique tower defense. A ton of customization with traps and weapons every single one has a place somewhere especially if you are going for a Nightmare playthrough which is a ton of fun. The game is also pretty amazing with a friend and for some reason it doesn't seem to age says it came out in 2012 but feels like it could have came out just now in 2016, amazing game overall.

I have purchased the game but haven't played for years. My friend bought it via Steam Summer Sale 2016 and we had a nice run of co-op. Definitely the game is fun with co-op.

Orcs Must Die 2 is a great game and an improvement over the first one. It is a third person tower defense game with tons of traps, trinkets, weapons, and allies. The replay value is excellent, while multiplayer adds even more enjoyment.

There is one minor downside. Some of the maps appear to be balanced for two players, so doing them solo is a lot harder. Again, this is a minor problem.

A great combination of action and tower defense. Don't expect hundreds of hours of fun, but you should be able to get several hours of high quality gaming out of Orcs Must Die! 2. The Co-op is great too!

1-sentence review :
Perfect mix between a 3rd Person Shooter and a Tower Defense Game !

Pros :
- Challenging without being too difficult
- A bunch of really different "towers"
- A ton of enemies
- Varied & interesting Levels
- Funny main character
- Coop
- Challenge Mode

Cons :
- Although it's globally better than the 1st OMD, it felt like it offers a bit less variety in the level design in term of gameplay (probably coz all levels now must be playable in coop and thus have some kind of symmetry)

My favourite tower defense game in my library. difficulty curve is not too steep, new mechanics are introduced at a good rate, the levels do not get repetitive and even gave me incentive to grind a few levels for gold.

Great game to play coop with friends. Perfect game to scratch that "tower-defense-itch".

Score: 8.5/10

I love co op games especially arcade style wave based co op shooters.

For me there are allways 2 types of co op games - 4 players co op and 2 players co op.

Orks must die 2 is a 2 player co op wave based tower defence 3rd person shooter with RPG elements.

The game is pure awesomeness. The levels are usually mirrored but thats great for 2 player co op. It's amaizingly done with a lot of things to level up.

I am giving it a thumbs up because of all the fun I had playing with my flatmate.

HOWEVER the game has one flaw that has to be mentioned - all traps are useless except the first you start with. I have beaten all levels and gotten to impossible waves of endless by using only the spike trap and the wall spike trap with only trinkets for more money and revive of archers or paladins that my flatmate used to put everywhere. I have over 300 sculls that I don't need to spend anywhere because all the most usefull traps and trinkets are allready maxed and everything else is just bad or there if you like to challenge yourself and play with the crappy and expensive traps that are not needed.

Except that the modding community is doing great things with the game so if you are looking for a great co op experience with someone you know in my case my flatmate this is the game to go to.

Orcs are way more fun and varried than zombies.

The cartoonish style make the game light and humorous while at the same time provided balance between the rushed shooter survival game and a strategic tower defence game.

I reccommend to anyone who is interested enough to be reading reviews

Why not put orcs and wolves and other beings with a random dude with magical powers
It impressed me because I was enjoying playing this tower defense game , it's not unique but there are not many games like this.

I got really excited to play it , and after I completed all the levels , I finished them on the hardest difficulty
After that , i bought the dlcs and finished them as well,.
