About This Game

It’s time to usher the past into the future in this enhanced recreation of Sonic CD!
Sonic travels to the distant shores of Never Lake for the once-a-year appearance of Little Planet - a mysterious world where past, present, and future collide through the power of the Time Stones that lie hidden within it.
Sonic arrives only to find the once beautiful world imprisoned beneath a twisted metallic shell. His arch-nemesis, Dr. Eggman, has come for the Time Stones and with them, will soon have the power to control time itself!
In order to put an end to Dr. Eggman’s nefarious schemes, Sonic must use the power of Little Planet to travel through time; breaking Dr. Eggman’s hold over the future by destroying his machines in the past and recovering the missing Time Stones!
Featuring 16:9 widescreen, achievements, leaderboards and both the US and Japanese soundtracks, experience the adventure through time that introduced the world to Amy the Hedgehog and Eggman’s most evil creation, Metal Sonic.

This game is easly one of the best Sonic Team has to offer.
It's a classic 2d sidescroller, with the well known Sonic twist to it: him gotting to go fast.
Also has time travel, so each stage is different according to their cooresponding timeline.
Fun gameplay, amazing soundrack, great art and level design.
The only "problems" I can think of is the bosses being incredibly easy. Seriously it's easier than fixing a bowl of cereal.
Also, the length is kinda short.

Now the PC version has some problems launching, including mine. Try to find a guide online to see how to fix it, I just recently got mines patched and now it's ready to go.

The levels are very chunky allways blocking you from gaining some real speed and are very uncreative. If you want a easier time in this game just bunnyhop
This game lacks the sonic VIBE to the point i think a reskin would hide it if it wasnt for the ~~~ curves in the ground and the _o_ loops

About the GAME BREAKING time concept!

1:If you touch a sign when you dont want to then for a good ending you have to push start click exit game and in the main menu reload the level EVERYTIME.So you need to go SLOW to make sure you dont touch a sign when your not ready to

2:Using the sign needs you to keep going fast for a amount of time and unless you know where on that level (Search quest) that you can keep the speed You will lose that speed and have to push start click exit game and in the main menu reload the level EVERYTIME

3:f__ the present f___ the future because you should go to the past ONLY.Thats where the machines are HIDDEN(Search quest)

4:Getting all the time crystals from completing a stage with 50+ rings and winning..The minigame i enjoy alot actually makes the hidden machines worthless anyways since they give you a good ending to

I got alot of sonic games(2d) and i do not reccomend this to anyone at all even for cheap

If you have a ps2 or compatible console i reccomend you go to ebay-website and buy sonic mega collection plus.a collection of GOOD sonic games

Sonic CD was one of the best Sonic titles to grace humanity.

With the introduction of Metal Sonic and the first time cinematic intro/outro, I knew this game was something special.

The maps have a very good flow to them, and the past/future redesigns add that something special to really bring this game together.

The bosses, albeit weak in some situations (First boss is a total pushover) are very unique and forces the player to think ouside of the box in order to defeat them.

The boss designs are also very unique and cater to the level designs to form a very fun experience; For example, the Pinball boss in Collision Chaos, or the Treadmill boss in Quartz Quadrant.

The only downside to this remarkable game is the special stages, where though the gameplay takes a drastic change into a 3'rd person perspective and again, forces the player to strategize, the difficulty unfairly ramps up after the fifth special stage to unplayable proportions.

Overall, a very fun game with lots of replay value.

Definately a must have for any respectable gamer.

This game is one of the best in the old series, but suffered due to being released on a failing platform (Sega CD) and is usually forgotten in the minds of gamers. The game has an awesome sountrack and fantastic design that demands to be given a good look if you haven't experienced this title before.

Not just a simple port. Sonic CD got rebuilt on a new engine entirely from the ground up. They fixed framerate issues in the special stage, overall everything runs extremely smooth and the game itself is fun. the level design is more exploration based than other 2D games but I think it works, and the soundtrack(US and Japan) is fantastic.

I would highly recommend this game to new fans looking for a challenge similar to the Genesis titles. The gameplay is good, graphics are crisp, and the music is superb.

A great little gem that's been vastly underestimated.
Just like the other mega drive sonic games but with everything from speed, graphics, and definitely challenge ramped up to eleven! Great port for anyone looking for nostalgia.

I have this game on the gems collection so i thought i would buy it on steam since i had so much fun with it last time, and the steam version made me fall in love with the game all over again. It was about time this game got some well deserved love! Also, I actually 100%ed this game and god, you will hate those special stages and their music after a while, most of my four hours on this game were spent on those god damn special stages!

Would definately recommend this game to anyone who loves the blue blur! Its by far my favourite sonic game!

This is my favourite Sonic game. The Steam port is one of the many, many ports of this game, and I think it works well, no technical problems so far. It is a little slower and more stategic than most Sonic games as you have to look for certain items around the level, while travelling backwards and forwards through time. The time travel aspect and the differences between the good and bad futures are an interesting twist on the usual Sonic game, I always like the dark, moody feel of the bad futures but it is so satisfying to get one of the slightly surreal good futures! In general, I really like the brightly coloured levels and proper, trance-inducing, old-fashioned Sega game music. It manages to be bright and slightly psychadelic without going to the extreme, creepy level of cheerfulness often found in Nintendo platformers.

I would have preferred an actual soundtrack to put on my MP3 player to be included, or at least a sound test function in the game, as the US soundtrack is freakin' awesome and you can't buy it from any stores! I do not like the Japanese soundtrack to this game but it is good for the fans that you can choose which to have.
