"Not to be missed by anyone who considers themselves a fan of the proud tradition of action RPGs"

Steam Workshop

Torchlight 2 now fully supports Steam Workshop. A new launcher synchronizes any mods you have subscribed to, and lets you customize their activation state and loading priority. In addition, when playing Internet games in the lobby, you will be able to filter modded games by mod combination, and with a single button click, subscribe to those mods. Torchlight 2 will then restart, synchronize them, and activate them before returning you to the game.

When playing modded games, you can view your mod history, any previously played mods, and the impact disabling mods may have on your character.

We've tried to make the process as seamless as possible, with a focus on allowing modded multiplayer games with a minimum of fuss.

GUTS is our in-house development tool, now fully integrated with Steam Workshop. You can publish directly to Steam Workshop when you compile your mod, making it available immediately for others to play.

We've also added a special tool to GUTS designed to convert pre-GUTS mods into the official mod format, with an eye toward making the transition much easier for our ambitious early modders.

You can learn more about using GUTS here.

About This Game

The award-winning action RPG is back, bigger and better than ever! Torchlight II takes you back into the quirky, fast-paced world of bloodthirsty monsters, bountiful treasures, and sinister secrets - and, once again, the fate of the world is in your hands!
Torchlight II captures all the flavor and excitement of the original game - while expanding the world and adding the features players wanted most, including online and LAN co-op multiplayer. Torchlight II is fast, fun, and filled to the brim with action and loot. Adventure solo or online with your friends!

Key Features:

  • Multiplayer - Play co-op with your friends via LAN or over the Internet for free. No subscriptions, no item sales. Our new matchmaking service lets you find friends, start new games, and join existing games. And, as always, you can play single-player offline as well.
  • Customizable Characters - Players will create and customize a character from one of four brand new classes. Each class can be played as either male or female, with customized cosmetic features and looks to make each individual character stand out. All new skills and loot give loads of opportunity for unique character builds.
  • Moddability - TorchED, the Torchlight II editor, will give players the ability to create their own mods, adding even more content to the world. Have your friends download the same mod and play together. TorchED will be available as a separate download very shortly after launch.
  • New User Interface - Torchlight II boasts a new and improved user interface, designed to be easier than ever for new players to pick up and play. This intuitive interface ensures you can focus on playing the game the way you want to.
  • Open World - We're not only in the town of Torchlight anymore! Explore vast overland areas and multiple hub towns, fight through rain, snow, day and night. Our level randomization ensures new layouts, paths, loot, and monsters every time you play.
  • New Game Plus - In New Game Plus, the game's not over until you say it is. Once you've beaten Torchlight II's primary campaign, you can start again with the same character for a significantly greater challenge. You'll keep all of the skills, gold, and gear you worked so hard for!
  • Pets & Fishing - These popular features make their return in Torchlight II in improved form. More choices, better effects, and your pet will still make the run to town to sell your loot so you don’t have to.

Regardless of the fact that i am big RPG lover, i have to admit that this is one of the best games i ever played!
You liked Diablo? Sacred? Gothic? Titan Quest? So what are you waiting for?

I am giving Torchlight II solid 9/10 without any doubts.
+There is nothing to not like in its graphics.
+A lot of things to do
+A lot of ways of character customization
+Finishing the game is nothing. You just need to keep getting better equipment & try other classess (which ALL are fun to play)

What i dislike?
I simply HATE when a game has 'dead' achievements which you just can't get, because they are bugged.
BUT! I hate even more when developers don't care about such fact...

Torchlight II is almost everything I want from a loot driven RPG. It's a fast-paced game with a good loot drop variety and frequency. Its co-op supports a party with up to 8 members (with an official mod). By the way, it's also very moddable and it has a lot of cool options that range from slightly modify the game to complete rebalance. The classes are all different from the original and there's a lot of different ways to build everyone. It can have some problems when it comes to syncing with other players but that seems to have improved a lot in the last months. It's better with friends and there's even a LAN mode but it still has an active community if you're interested in playing online.

-Quick Review-
Torchlight II is a dungeon crawler game that lets you chose to play as a few different classes. The basic concept is the same as nearly all dungeon crawlers: Explore, level up, find gear, beat the boss, rinse and repeat.
-Detailed breakdown review-
Story: Oh no! the alchemist is going to bring about the end of the world! You there, unnamed random hero, it's your job to warn everyone, and be just a few steps behind the alchemists defiling touch.
As I implied, you're obviously the hero, the villain you will be trying to catch is known as "the alchemist", whom has been corrupted and destroys all that is in his way.

Game Play: I sense that most dungeon crawlers are time consuming on purpose, I spent a good 30-40 hours before I beat the game, then I kept playing for another 30 hours to get to max level, and at that point I stopped playing.
The whole dungeon crawler genre is criticized for giving us "carpool tunnel", you click, a lot. you do use keys to cast different spells, attacks, and abilities. So for fair warning, you will spend a lot of time in this game clicking.
There is a feature in the game that lets you load up your pet with tons of gear, and send 'em back to town to sell them for you, or buy health potions, basically you never need to go to town to sell gear or buy potions, you're servant pet will do it for you. What does this mean for you, brave adventurer? More dungeon crawling, less vendering trash items! Yay! (Hopefully!)

Achievements: So I hit 76% completion on this game, I've given up trying to actively get 100% completed for achievements, mostly because RNG (Random Number Generator) hates me. I decided getting above 75% was pretty good for a game with 123 achievements, many requiring grinding.
Achievement categories: Beat the game/boss, try doing this, kill this many enemies, open this many of these, do this ____ amount of times, get lucky, play long enough to do this 100,000,000 times. Again, basically I assume that I'll eventually make more progress on this game as I find people who are like "hey, play this with me!" and I'm like "okay, I only need to 3,000 more potions! let's do it!"
Half of these achievements are from just playing the game, so you can enjoy that, but getting 100% will require a lot of play time. Just a warning :)

Price: Torchlight II costs $19.99, I've spent 70 hours playing it. That's definitely worth it. Most people will at least get over 20 hours in the game, even if they're not trying to beat it.
As always, I suggest getting the game on sale or in a humble bundle, but the stand alone price is very much worth it, based on the amount of game time I squeezed out of it.

Conclusion: Story: interesting the first time through, it was very dragged out (not in a bad way, really), Game play: click x1,000,000 (over 9,000 clicks used in the making of this review), Achievements: nothing to write home about, Price: very good price based on the amount of time required to play through the whole game.
This type of game is best suited for people who already know they like dungeon crawlers, I've played several, if you're new to the series this is a great game to start trying it out with! Just be warned there is a lot of clicking involved. Again, this game becomes a 100 times more fun with a friend or two. But, I did play through the whole game solo my first time.

After 250+ hours i can say this game is a great sequel to Torchlight, and i'm not going to stop playing it. TII has improved almost every aspect of the original game. It basically is a greatly expanded version of Torchlight, with wider maps, more items, more enemies and more classes to choose from. Everything seems smooth and well placed. It is a pleasure to keep trying new classes and, most importantly, new builds and skill paths. In conclusion: Torchlight II is a great hack 'n' slash every fan of this type of games should own. It will entertain you for hours and hours and you will hardly repeat boring actions like farming and grinding. A must have, for such a low price.

Made mostly by the same guys who made original Diablo games , Torchlight II is everything Diablo III was not. Colorful thou not childish graphics, fast thou not numb combat, tones of side content, interesting skill trees full of smartly designed skills allowing you to play same class in many different ways makes this best Diablo ' clone ' i've ever had pleasure of playing. I hope we will see 3rd installment.!

An enjoyable Diablo style game I would recomend it to anyone who enjoyed Diablo 2. It is quite a bit shorter than D2 but still worth it.

As I sit here with my meat flaps hanging over the sides of my struggling armchair, I come to the realization that my eupohoric words have not touched the minds of other neat meme onlookers in quite some time. I decide to recite a poem that my grandfather used to riddle off to me every time I defecated in my jean shorts. (that usually smelled like Oprah Winfrey's rancid poopusher) The poem, if I remember correctly, went as so:

♥♥♥♥ you little ♥♥♥♥♥♥ kid
♥♥♥♥ your ♥♥♥♥ty ♥♥♥ memes
Clean your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shorts
You little aborted creme

This poem often filled me with a warmth so warm that it could probably defrost Michael J. Fox's nerves. I still remember that day, excrement steaming from my dark pits, that he told me he would finally accept me as his own. I got so excited that my undershorts shot straight off my urethra cannon zimmer zammer.
To conclude, Torchlight 2 was a game that invited all of my senses to a backalley orgy where they were lanced with filthy needles and sputtered with unholy man extract. If you want to have fun with some of your hoodrats in this wonderful game, spend the money on heroin instead, for you will experience the same capacity of worthlessness that I did when my grandfather suffocated on the sea of liquid turd that deployed from my intestine hangar on the day of the reckoning.
Was a fun game

I thought this game was great! In so many ways. The Arpg top down diablo style. The quirky toony characters and mobs and environment. The mmo feel, skill tree character progression and levelling. Great looking gear and cool loot, with stated sockets and modifiers. Sweet pets to choose from, fun tough bosses and a mild story line.

What more could you hope for?

It was nearly perfect but for a few things. It started great! but felt rushed towards the end like they didn,t care as much as when they started. What started out as love and care, didn't end that way. Dont get me wrong it all looked great but it just didn't have the sense of love it started with and it made the progression towards the end, feel a bit grindy and that you just wanted it to finish. Shame.

Other than I really liked this game, it was extremely fun with 2 players. Just felt like our own personal mmo with our own 2 player dungeons.

There's no Diablo on Steam, there's Torchlight. And honestly, it might just be enough not to sell your soul to the Battlenet :)

Game has 4 heroes, 3 skill trees, 4 acts, lots of magical items, monsters, huge bosses, multiplayer and a personal pet. Also there are small things like fishing, gems, item sets, trivial quests, lottery etc. Everything seems to be in place and well balanced, but ...

Only problem I have with Torchlight, things change a bit too fast, levels come too quickly, no sense of collecting item sets as they get replaced with better ones right away, which also makes it hard to accumulate any gold.

And, overall, game is missing some sense of greatness ... It's still a very good game, though.

Really enjoying this game.
I like very versatile character development in this game, when from the same class you make really different type of warrior.
Player has lots of space for improvising building up his character, can try some skills and remove them after if not needed at the re-trainer in town.
Cons I could think of - Torchlight II is too much time-consuming. Be aware of that :).

A pretty good game. I don't get all the Diablo 3 hate and all the people who say this is better than D3 because i never found anything really wrong with D3. This basically is just a lighter version of D3. Everything is similar and it is nearly as much fun as D3 is. Just some mindless hack n slash fun. I really like the graphics and effects. They did a good job, as well as the sound effects and music. The only thing I don't like is that there are only 4 classes and they are not that wildly different. I am using the embermage and he is pretty fun. Diablo 3 is somewhat of a better game on all levels, but this is still pretty much the second best isometric action rpg there is. It is a very well done game and more than worth the $5 I spent on it on sale.

Pump up the deathcore and wreck all the enemies. If you ever wanted to know what Diablo 3 would look like if it was done by a indie team with a much smaller budget, here you go. It is worth the time and the money because I am enjoying it very much.

I've been searching for a good RPG ever since I quit my old one for being to expensive and to childish. This game is the closest I have gotten and I highly recommend it. Although it's not exactly what I wanted it's close enough. Also I got an achievment for exploding 1 000

This game is great, it has everything the old Diablo games have and more. It's moddable with some very great mods out there like more classes, extra story and more pets. You can stat and skill build, instead of only choosing some skills. So yeah, in the end... just buy it and have fun for a good run :) 10/10
