Why Early Access?

“Shadow’s Kiss is the culmination of a successful Kickstarter and five years of hard work by an indy game team, creating a full playable experience that allows the player to explore the first 30 levels of gameplay, along with a dozen zones in the shadowy streets of San Cipriano. Part of our promise from the Kickstarter was to allow our fans access and involvement in iterating and improving Shadow’s Kiss, and we’re excited to do that here on Steam via early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Shadow’s Kiss will likely be in early access for a year to a year and a half.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“No MMO is ever “finished”, but we define the full version of Shadow’s Kiss as having the core primary narrative complete, extensive world size, quest availability, and stable and fun gameplay. This also includes a lot of small details that can take an indy team a while to work through: art errors, animation bugs, etc., and polish in all categories.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Shadow’s Kiss is currently in “Alpha 2”, which we define as having a full vertical slice of gameplay, roughly 30 levels of combat content, and most primary features operational.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will likely increase the price of Shadow’s Kiss in its full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Early access gives the community a chance to have meaningful input in many aspects of the game, from bugs and polish to combat, game balance, and quest content. We will be involving the community in regular testing of features, and working directly with fans on Discord and traditional channels (e-mail, social media).

We expect to run special contests and promotions giving away Steam keys and in-game content, as well as naming certain areas and developing certain lore in honor of our most dedicated community members.”

Welcome friends, fellow creatures of the night...

Enter a world of gothic vampires, steampunk hunters, technological necromancers, Victorian ghosts, and the unquiet dead. Shadow’s Kiss is an online vampire roleplaying game, set in the fictional city of San Cipriano, where the player is cast as a fledgling vampire learning to survive in her new world of ruthless monsters and intrigue.

Shadow’s Kiss offers many of the classic features of an open world RPG, including:

Robust quest system.
“Classless” advancement system where you train skills offline and purchase powers to define your character.
Immersive and gritty narrative system built off of four different archetypes: Sinister Mastermind, Diabolic Monster, Fallen Angel, or Gritty Antihero.
Exploration for hidden treasures and lore.

Gameplay in Shadow’s Kiss also innovates in interesting ways:

Intimidation, alliance, and diplomacy system where you can advance without resorting to combat.
Turn-based combat that allows for surprises, traps, and interesting narratives. No need for Jedi-like reflexes to be a terrifying vampire!
Seduction and other mature content.
Raising drained mortals as your vampire thralls.
Necromancy system to force the walking dead to serve you!
