“I've been working on Verdant Village for a few years now. While the game isn't quite finished I believe it is important to get feedback from as many people as possible. I've chosen early access in the hopes that having various people play and talk about the game will help me to make an even better final product.”

“As of early 2023 it was determined that the engine being used to make Verdant Village was lacking and causing a variety of issues. Due to this the game is being remade in a new engine. While this process will not be nearly as long as starting fresh it will set things back.”

“The full version of the game should include more of just about everything along with a couple of key systems that will be added slowly throughout early access. By the time the game fully releases I plan to have added many things. A short list of planned features is listed below.

早期アクセスバージョンの現状はどうなっていますか？

“The current state of the early access version is that much of the game is intact. At time of writing you can farm, fish, mine, hunt, perform alchemy, do quests, explore the map, do archaeology, decorate, cook, forage, and some other things. The game is playable at the moment however there is still a lot to add to make the game stand out in the genre.”

“The price of Verdant Village will be the same both in and out of early access. I have no plans to change it. On average users claim to get around 40 hours of playtime out of the game right now. Some have claimed more than double that and the game is still incomplete. Therefore the 15 USD price feels justified to me at least.”

どうやって開発プロセスにコミュニティを参加させる予定ですか？

“The community is more than welcome to join in with the development of the game. There is already a community on itch that plays. There is also a discord server made to allow people who play to get in touch with others. I also frequent the server to answer questions, learn about bugs, and generally hear feedback on the game and what could be done to make it even better. All social media related links are available on the title screen of the game itself for easy access.”

Developer Note: In the interest of honesty I wanted to add this to the game description. As of now Verdant Village is under reconstruction. An engine change has been deemed necessary for the improvement of the game. The current version on Steam is functional and all reviews posted are of the game in its current form. This message is here to inform any potential buyers of what is going on with the game. Currently any bugs that are found will be left. When the new version is comparable to the live one it will replace the current live game. And of course progress on the new version of the game will be posted each month.

Take on the challenges of living a life in the rustic medieval town of Amberglen. You've washed up on a quiet beach with nothing to your name, not even your memories. You're in luck however as locals are quick to find you, and nurse you back to health. The king himself is kind enough to allow you to stay on a piece of abandoned property to make your living. With nothing more than a few rusty tools turn strike out and attempt to breathe life back into this old land!

  • Master Skills As You Progress: No one starts out as a master. Level up your skills as you work. Complete specific tasks to gain powerful perks to help you succeed.

  • Uncover Lost Mysteries: Search throughout the land for hidden artifacts to piece together. The Empyrean Vale is vast and full of history to learn and history to unearth.

  • Meet The Townsfolk: Interact and speak with over 40 characters living in Amberglen and beyond. Each character has a personality and story to tell.

  • Cast A Line: Visit the multitude of different fishing spots spread across the vale. There are over 100 fish to catch, split between different environments, seasons, and times.

  • Nock An Arrow: Stalk the surrounding wilderness for a variety of animals. Hunt creatures with your trusty bow and arrow.

  • Have A Taste: Learn to cook a litany of different meals. Get the locals to teach you different recipes and become the best chef in Amberglen.

  • Stir The Cauldron: Try your hand at alchemy. Create ingredients from the world around you and blend them together into a variety of potions and items.

  • Lend A Helping Hand: Find and complete a variety of tasks for villagers. You'll find that everyone needs something done. Most are willing to teach you something in return as well.

  • No Restarts: Take advantage of the patching system to play early. Your saves will carry over between new patches for a cohesive experience.
