It's super fun and has very fluid mechanics. Must try if you like tower defense type games. The first shooter aspect isn't fancy, but the variety of traps and level design gives a lot of replay value.

HANDS DOWN - The Best Purchase Of The Year

There simply aren't a lot of games these days that really bring to the table what Orcs Must Die does. The concept is simple, easy to learn, harder to master. Very addictive and very satisfying to play.

Not sure yet? Looking for a description of the game? Basically it's an indie 3rd POV Tower Defense, with Warcraft look & feel and the action of Team Fortress 2.

If your looking for a reason not to purchase, I really can't give you any and that's been while since I've had that with any game!

Achievement Hunter Review:
An incredibly fun tower defense/third-person hybrid. Took me around 20 hours to 100% as the first game of its style that I've played.

Definitely rare, when the entire objective of a game can be put into its title. Very easy to learn, nice build-up "tutorial" (one thing every round), and funny characters with awesome lines.

setting up traps and watching orcs and their friends run into them is incredibly satisfying. there’s even some mild story that i appreciated but probably wouldn’t have missed if they’d left it out. it surprisingly doesn’t let you remap keys in game, but does support creating a text file that worked for me. also while traps and weapons / spells are in the same bar across the bottom you can’t scroll wheel from one to the other. mostly those issues didn’t get in my way though, and i’m excited to see what orcs must die 2 is like!

Excellent! Simple to play, easy to learn, definitely a one-of-a-kind Third Person Shooter + Tower Defense game. Gameplay is easily summarized - Defend your rift(base) from orcs, with melee, range weapons, magic, traps, and guardians. There're over 10 different types of enemies, and 22 weapons, traps and guardians added up altogether. I would strongly suggest downloading the demo first before trying (I got hooked on the game this way). Maps are playable in 3 different levels - Apprentice(Easy), WarMage(Normal), Nightmare(Explains itself). The game has practically no ending, you can replay your maps as many times as you want. No rewards, but the gameplay itself is rewarding. The only "ending", is probably when you completed all achievements, upgraded every single trap, and 5 Skull-ed all maps on all difficulties. Pretty fulfilling!

Pros
- Graphics are cartoon-ish. Great for casual players. Graphics which are too clear makes me really stressed.
- Gameplay varies, dependent on the type of player you are. Melee, magic, shooter, you choose!
- Achievements are all attainable. Last broken achievement was removed, hence, 27 workable achievements.
- 24 different maps, excluding 5 DLC maps(Might as well get it).
- There's a difference shooting at the head, and at the body. Dealing different damage really draws the line between players who only want to complete the game, and those that REALLY wants to perform. You can't just spam.
- Simple upgrades. Basically you complete a map well, you are given up to 10 skulls per map, then you upgrade it. There is simply no need for a guide on what to upgrade. Just do it. Eventually, all skulls will be used, and everything upgraded.

Cons
- Single player. Might not be too optimal for couples, or a group of friends. Orcs Must Die 2 has co-op though(Recommended as well).
- Despite "Practice makes perfect", some really tough maps are really argh. You would be finding yourself restarting the map many times just to achieve 5 Skulls(5 Star Rating).
- Endless isn't available, so once you're done with the map, you're done. Clearing the map isn't tough, but getting 5 Skulls for it might be a chore for some.
- Too damn addictive. You really can't stop playing!!

On the overall, apart from perfecting this game by achieving 5 Skulls for all maps on all difficulties, even as a casual game, it will not fail to entertain. Definitely.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give it 9.5 (: Lack of companionship in this game kinda killed it for me, but I still completed it nevertheless! Fantastic game!!

FANTASTIC, simple, tower defense game. Upgrading your tools/traps leads you to replay levels and dominate the levels more efficiently to get better ratings for more upgrades. It's an addicting formula with a great sense of humor mixed with gratuitous violence. If only there were more levels out there..

This game is my first experience on the hybrid of first-person shooter and tower defense. I always play it in single-player mode and it is fun. In my opinion, it is better than the second one.

One of the best games I have ever played!
Great music, even greater gameplay and tons of humor!
The first few fortresses are very straight forward, easing you into the game, but as you get more traps and more orcs coming at you from more passageways, it really is intriquing to figure out how you can keep them away.
The game is so fun that once you finish it, you really do want to start over on the harder difficulty! And now that I have finished that too I am sad that there is no more... Gonna have to move on to Orcs Must Die 2, hopping it's as good!

Game mechanics of this title is awesome. Even though that story line is very poor, this game is very enjoyable and addictive. Unlocking new possibilities, how to stop orcs and have better score, pushes you to play more and more.

Positives:
+ Decent graphic;
+ very good game mechanics;
+ unlocking new things.

Negatives:
- Game is short, but as I said, you will try to overcome other players;
- when you are killing only one race, this game is little bit racist (joking :-D).

If you like puzzle games with action elements, this one is tottaly for you!

One of the best & funniest game I ever played.
Beautifull, tactical and deadly fun.
Graphism are still great, very fluid, with an immersive soundtrack.
(If you have a doubt about your config, just try the demo)
Easy to handle, hard to master. I really liked this one.
Furthermore, Steam success are easy to get (if you play a bit), that's why this game is the first one I've ever completed in Steam.

The gameplay is kinda similiar to Plants vs. Zombies but in 3D.In here you can cast spells, upgrade weapons.There are multiple pathways to defend which needs a bit of exploration so you can decide the positioning or placing of weapons before unleashing the orcs (Orcs and additional enemies may varies depending on what level are you in).It's actually enjoyable imo.
