Why Early Access?

“Iterative games like Soul Stalker greatly benefit from having an active community with which it can be built. Play throughout the Early Access period to communicate with the developers and leave your mark on the game! We will be taking suggestions from the community regarding what content to add, how to balance the game, and the general direction of core aspects of the game.

We aren't going to sell out, we will retain full control of the project. We need your help to make this a reality, and in return we will strive to make the best game we can for the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“4 months - 1 year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on having more characters, more enemies, more weapons, more environments, more trinkets, and overall more content for the full version of the game. We will also be looking at what additional features the community wants and adjust the development of the game accordingly. Other than that, the community-developer feedback loop will allow us to make a tighter game when it comes to balancing and stability.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version of the game has:

12 characters.
23 weapons.
50 trinkets (passive items).
12 environments.
2 acts.
11 quests/unlockables.

The game is feature-complete with a high degree of run variety, but we are excited to expand the game according to the community's wishes.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan on gradually increasing the price of Soul Stalker as more content is added.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Working with the community is the reason for why Soul Stalker is launching in Early Access. We want to hear anything that you have to say that you feel will make the game better. On our end, we will be providing you with:

Video devlogs that show progress.
Regular communication in the Steam forums/Discord server.
Development livestreams where you can directly impact the game.

We aren't going to sell out and lose creative control over Soul Stalker, the community and the players are who we are beholden to.”

Soul Stalker is a bullet heaven roguelike where you assume the role of the steward of ghosts bound to eternal life on earth.

Wield 4 to 6 weapons simultaneously to fend off waves of apparitions determined to defeat your spirited friends. Choose from a diverse pool of 21 characters, 35 weapons, 84 trinkets, and 21 pets to craft your ultimate build!

Slay spooky souls, evolve your weapons, and progress through the Soul Stalker Society's hub to become an unstoppable force of nature.

Key Features:

Fast & Unique Runs: Each run in Soul Stalker offers distinct locales, ensuring no two ~25-minute runs are alike!
Metaprogression: Power up by completing quests in the overworld, purchasing starting equipment, and absorbing wisdom from the ghosts in the Soul Stalker Society's hub.
A Papery World: Immerse yourself in a visually striking papery art style, featuring 2D characters in a 3D cel-shaded world.
Survive: Each wave lasts between 30 and 60 seconds. Survive and gather as many resources as possible to upgrade your character at shops and campfires!
