This is the official soundtrack of the video game DungeonOS from Grave Hammer Games. Crawl Dungeons, Loot and Equip your Adventurers! Log in to an old-school operating system. Manage your adventurers and use puzzles to damage your enemies.

How we produced the Soundtrack

All tracks are made with an original Yamaha YM2612 sound chip, used in SEGA Genesis/Megadrive home consoles and various SEGA arcade game systems, including the Mega-Play, System 18, and System 32. For the recordings we used an Aidan Lawrence Mega MIDI hardware synthesizer with the original Yamaha YM2612 sound chip installed. As hardware effects and signal processors we used a Sony DPS-V77 and a dbx DDP.

Trivia about the original Yamaha YM2612 sound chip: Due to an error with the amplitude voltage in the original chip design, a peculiar form of crossover distortion is introduced in the output. This is known as the low volume distortion bug (and historically given the terms "TDM distortion" and "ladder effect"), where any output that is sufficiently low in volume undergoes an exaggerated quantization. You can hear that in the tracks, which makes them sound very authentic.

The Studio

The Soundtrack was written, performed, produced, mixed and mastered by Christian. He is the sound guy of Grave Hammer Games and does everything using hardware synth in his own Studio.
