A Stone Age strategy game on a 3D world of hexes. Every person is simulated, every calorie counted. Neighbours live by the same rules you do. Build your village, teach your people, fight raids yourself. There is no victory: there is the story of your people.

Leaving Early Access: Nov 20, 2026

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“CivEconomy is a deep simulation, and simulations get better when many people play them in ways we never thought of. The 3D version can be played from the founding of a village to the end of a reign, but we want to shape what comes next with the people who play it: what is hard to read, what feels unfair, what is missing.
”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We won't give a date. We will leave Early Access when the game is complete in English and Portuguese, when the full soundtrack and the in-game guide are in, and when the things players ask for most in these first months are done.
”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will add Portuguese for the whole game, the full soundtrack, the in-game guide, and the changes the community asks for during Early Access: balance, a clearer interface, and new content built on the systems that are already here. Everything in the game now stays in.
”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable from start to finish. A generated 3D world of hexes with fog of war and seasons; a village you site, enter and build; the economy (food in calories, health and disease, farming, salt, mining and metalworking from stone to steel, emergent trade and currency); other peoples simulated by the same rules, with diplomacy, raids, sieges and ambushes; real-time tactical battles in the village you built; faith, standing, the fall of a reign and the Exodus; a chronicle, named ages, twenty-two deeds and a legacy; an opening tour, tips, the Council and Ask the Elder; save slots, autosave, Steam Cloud and achievements. Windows and macOS (Apple silicon). Expect rough edges: we are fixing them every week.
”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will go up as the game grows. Early Access is the lowest price CivEconomy will have, and everyone who owns it now gets every update up to the full version.
”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through our Discord ([] and the Steam discussions. There are channels for feedback, bug reports and feature requests, and we read all of it. In the weeks after the 3D update we are working directly from what players report and ask for, and each update's notes say which changes came from you.

About This Game

Lead a Stone Age people. Every one of them is real.

CivEconomy is a strategy game about a tribe at the edge of history. You are its leader. You decide where the hands go, what the people learn, what is built and when to fight. They live with the result.

People with names, ages and families. Food counted in calories, sickness that comes with the seasons, tools that take real work and real knowledge to make. Nothing is invented for free, and every number answers "why?".

A WORLD YOU WALK, CLAIM AND BUILD ON

- A living 3D world. Generated maps from Small to Huge, with rivers, forests, game and deposits. Fog of war: you only know what your people have seen.

- Seasons that matter. Rivers rise in spring and freeze in a hard winter. Nobody explores in deep winter. Nobody marches with the harvest still standing.

- The village is real work. Choose where the hearth stands, then enter the village and build it: huts, stores, workshops, a palisade, a gate, a watchtower. Every work needs materials and hands, and the woods come down tree by tree.

AN ECONOMY THAT RUNS ON ITS OWN RULES

- From stone to steel. Fields, salt works, mines, the smelter and the forge. Each step needs what came before and someone who knows how.

- Trade emerges. What a good is worth comes from who needs it. A currency can appear on its own.

- Health and food are one system. A hungry people gets sick. A sick people works less. A short harvest is felt for years.

NEIGHBOURS AS REAL AS YOU

The other peoples are simulated by the same rules: they farm, trade, learn, pray and raid. Send gifts, make peace, hold a grudge. War bands are named warriors, and they remember. Difficulty comes from the world you pick, never from an AI that cheats.

FIGHT IT YOURSELF

When a raid comes, open the battle and command it in real time on the ground where it happens: your palisade, your gate, the river and its fords. Warriors, spearmen, skirmishers and archers, dressed in the age of their arms. Whoever falls on the field is gone from the village for good. Or let it be decided, after reading the odds.

NO VICTORY SCREEN

Twenty-two deeds your people may be remembered for. Named ages. Reigns that end, a leader who can be deposed, an Exodus when all is lost. Do five of the eight great deeds and the story of your people is told. Then go on.

LEARNING TO READ IT

A short opening tour, first-time tips, a Council that tells you what is wrong, and an Elder you can ask in your own words ("how do I get copper?"). Hover any value to see what it is made of.

EARLY ACCESS: THE NEXT WEEKS ARE YOURS

This is the first 3D version of CivEconomy, and we are shaping it with the people who play it. Join our Discord and tell us what is confusing, what is missing and what you would change first. In the coming weeks we are working from what players ask for.

HONEST NOTES

- The 3D update replaces the old 2D, text-driven game. Typed commands are gone: everything is a click now.

- Saves from the 2D game do not load in 3D. The 2D game stays playable on the Steam branch legacy-2d (Properties, Betas).

- English only for now. Portuguese is coming.

- No AI runs while you play. The AI disclosure below lists the pre-generated content.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

CivEconomy: Future Leader uses a locally-running AI model for one optional gameplay feature. All AI processing runs entirely on the player's machine — no data is sent to external servers.

Text AI (Command Processing): An on-device language model (Llama 3.2 1B via Ollama) interprets natural language player commands and classifies them into game actions. A keyword-matching fallback system works identically without AI enabled.

This feature is completely optional. The game is fully functional and playable without any AI features active.
