Coming at you this week with another port location!

Which is (was) the home port of the one and only Imperial Rose

Enjoy!

ROSEGATE PORT

Origin

The home harbor of The Imperial Rose was Ironwealth’s crown jewel—a thriving port city perched on a cliff, purpose-built to support the massive cruise liner. Outfitted with its own train station, hotels, cafés, and restaurants, the port handled constant streams of passengers and cargo. A dead-end cargo rail track enabled quick offloading of supplies, while tugboats and cranes ensured efficient turnarounds. Every cruise began and ended here, and the port’s image became a symbol of luxury and escape, featured in posters across nearby villages.

During the Catastrophic Event:

As earthquakes grew in strength, panicked crowds surged into the harbor hoping to board The Imperial Rose. With Orchard Port cut off by falling rocks, Rosegate Port became the island’s last hope. But when a section of the pier collapsed, access to the ship became narrow and dangerous. Despite desperate efforts by tugboats to push the vessel out, strong waves and volcanic tremors hindered escape. Ultimately, the captain made the painful decision to depart, leaving many behind. A volcanic blast struck the ship’s hull, causing it to take on water and run aground near the harbor.

After the Catastrophic Event:

In the eruption’s aftermath, a massive landslide from the cliffs destroyed the train station, buried the roads, and severed all access routes. Large chunks of the cliff fell into the sea, further damaging infrastructure. Amid the devastation, a hidden tunnel entrance to underground caves emerged, hinting at secrets beneath the ruined harbor. Once a gateway to adventure and luxury, the port now lay in ruins—haunted by the echoes of its final, desperate voyage.

P.S.

Did a poll on our Discord asking which location has been your favorite so far, and the Stormwatch Bastion won by a mile.

Curious to see what you guys think, let us know below!

Back to our regularly scheduled program of landmark sneak peeks.

I present to you...

SMOGMERE

Lore

Origin
The sulfur mine is one of the island’s oldest sites, evolving from a basic tunnel system into a high-tech operation. Fueled by an active volcano, the sulfur supply seemed endless, prompting Ironwealth to build a nearby military outpost for protection called the Stormwatch Bastion. As tourism grew, complaints about pollution led to the installation of advanced filters that let the mine operate without disrupting visitors. The facility includes an automated tower, refinery, and rail-connected storage tanks designed to efficiently process and ship sulfur.

During the first eruption:
An earthquake triggered an explosion of pressure through the sulfur tunnels, releasing toxic gases that instantly killed workers and caused the collapse of infrastructure into sinkholes. A sulfur cloud rolled down the hillside, engulfing everything in yellow dust. Tragically, a convoy fleeing along the road below was overtaken by the toxic cloud, leaving no survivors.

Present-Day:
Today, alarms still sound with every tremor, while toxic gases continue to leak from damaged tanks and pipelines. A thick layer of sulfur dust covers the tunnels and nearby structures, and the nearby river runs yellow from constant contamination. The wreckage remains untouched, including the sulfur-coated convoy, and a new entry point has opened near the main sinkhole under the mine.

Hope you enjoyed it and watch out for the next one!

P.S. If you're in a mood for more Steamroller shenanigans, posting some roadkill tests on our Discord and Twitter

Been posting a few sneak peeks here and there on our socials about the Steamroller.

And it seems only right to create a little compilation for you folks here too!

Because aside from working hard on the new island, the team made some pretty pretty cool progress on the Steamroller as well!

Such as...

Making it way more fun to drive

Adding a speed boost
(engine melting inspired by this legend):

And an inventory box!

With more features yet to roll out!

Since you guys seemed to really like the Orchard Port screenshots last time.

We decided to shoot a quick flythrough.

With some more progress on the other buildings around the port area.

Enjoy and watch out for the next location post coming soon!

Called "Smogmere"

The port location is once again going to be the starting point on the new island.

And even though most of it is still placeholder...

I wanted to show you a few comparisons.

So you can clearly see the level of detail and complexity we are going for on the new island compared to the current one.

Really trying to tell the story of the island through the environment design.

Let us know what you think of Captain's new parking spot below!

And watch out for more location snippets coming soon.

P.S. Saw a lot of you asking for a release date of the new island. We don't have one yet, but I'll let you know as soon as we start zeroing in on one!

Saw a bunch of these comments under the last Steam post:

And since actions speak louder than words, check out this cannon action (sound on)!

Basically, as you guys suggested, once you clear the area from enemies, you will now be able to partly repair the cannon and shoot with it around the area its located in.

Here's what the whole sequence looks from the inside, and the cannon animation on its own.

Hope you guys like it, and keep the feedback coming!

More island news coming soon.

P.S. Let me know what's going to be your first target in the comments. I'm probably aiming for one of my teammates

P.P.S. Volcanoids is 30% off I think

Hey everyone!

Hope 2025 has been treating you well so far!

Since y'all seemed to enjoy the last location sneak peek at The Imperial Rose
Here's another one!

The Stormwatch Bastion

Lore

The Stormwatch Bastion was a crucial yet secretive defensive stronghold on the southern edge of Adranos Island. Built by the Iron Wealth to counteract the region's weak defenses, its primary role was to safeguard a nearby sulfur mine—an essential supplier of gunpowder and explosives. Hidden beneath a discreet copper dome, the bastion’s underground tunnels connected directly to a rail system, allowing for secure transport of volatile materials without drawing public attention.

When the catastrophic eruption struck, the bastion’s crew remained steadfast in their duty, securing weapons and sealing off access to prevent opportunists from seizing military resources. As chaos consumed the island, there was no effort to assist escaping civilians—few even knew of the bastion’s existence, and its remote location on the island’s highest ground meant no one tried to reach it. Just as the crew prepared to evacuate, violent tremors ruptured the bastion’s walls, exposing its ammo storage. Moments later, a devastating explosion obliterated most of the stronghold, hurling its massive turret out of the ground and leaving no survivors.

Now, in the aftermath, the ruined bastion stands as a haunting relic of its former might. The enormous Stormwatch cannon lies on its side, corroding, as if it had fallen from the sky. A gaping crater exposes the skeletal remains of the fortress, a labyrinth of twisted gears and shattered metal. While the explosion reduced much of the interior to rubble, some of its most fortified chambers may still hold secrets—locked behind reinforced doors, waiting to be uncovered.

-

As mentioned in the previous announcement, right now we are putting together area 1 of the new island from all these locations like a big puzzle.

First puzzle piece I've shown was the Imperial Rose.

Stormwatch Bastion is another one.

This secret bunker is going to be the first time you will get to visit a military structure on the new island.

Military areas will have plenty of loot containing ammo, explosives and weapons.

But at the cost of harder enemies to fight.

Similarly how the military drillships work in the current version.

Hope you enjoyed another one of these location snippets!

More coming soon.

P.S. Here are some references that inspired this location:
