The updates for gameplay and combat improvements soldier on, these are substantial changes to the game that take a bit more time than the previous milestone so they will take a little longer than usual.

I also have plans to address the early game, as I've received plenty of feedback about it being too slow and uninteresting. This will be a major focus later on in this milestone, once combat has been addressed.

Shorter change long as various new features and changes were added incidentally in the previous hotfix.

  • GUI Remaster Stage 1 : Combatant HUD - First step of the HUD is the HP/Stamina/Special meter
  • Combat Tutorials and Challenges Stage 1 : Psaia now gives the player basic combat tutorials at key moments of the story, with optional challenges coming soon.
  • During the Arpas boss fight, the 2nd stage freezes the whirlpool, making it easier to see.
  • Added 'Discoveries' to the world map, they can give you resources/money/items or be a battle, this is a work in progress and will be expanded upon
  • Players can now spec into Keena's stats at the end of any battle if she levelled up
  • Cooldowns for magic now have a meter
  • Keena's portrait now changes based on her state and HP
  • Bosses now start with a 'wait' command to give players a few seconds at the start of boss fights
  • Camera now has 2 bias options 'player' or 'enemy', by default this follows the currently selected enemy or the mouse (if free aim is enabled)
  • Relevant gameplay option to change the camera bias added
  • A hit-stop effect was added to the 'break' status, WIP
  • The perk tree now indicates which abilities the player has already learned

Hello!

Tomorrow afternoon I'm planning to release Patch 2.0 which will be the last update with major content. It's been a lot of fun making this game and I hope all of the additional content has made the game worth playing.

This patch includes:

  • A new secret Changeling boss with level extension and cutscenes in whit hallway area.

  • New achievement for defeating the secret boss on the first attempt

  • Some minor bug fixes

  • Player can no longer "uncrouch" when in tunnels

  • Grass field should have improved FPS

  • 2 extra notes to find

  • Player no longer rushes at first painting

  • Barriers put in during Hatton backrooms level 0 area.

  • New save point added after solving color puzzle.

  • Sam doesn't slide when entering ball pit room if player faces the teleporter too quickly.

yay!!! we finally fixed the crashing!!! maybe!!!!

This stupid damn issue has been driving me insane for so long. Everyone had been complaining to me about it but I could never replicate it because it ONLY HAPPENS ON SOME COMPUTERS so finding the issue is damn near impossible because IT. ONLY. HAPPENS. ON SOME COMPUTERS!!!! Oh, and it's untraceable. Matter of fact, for a while I thought this must be a massiove troll attempt because for a long time I couldn't find anyone willing to help me repliate it or anything. Just people claiming it happens but not helping me at all because it takes like 15 minutes of thier time to replicate and they undertsandbly don't want to do that. And you know what's worse? It's UNTRACABLE. There's seemingly no rhyme or reason for it. It doesn't happen at a specific time. It doesn';t happen at a specific place. It doesnt happen during specific actions. It doesn't happen on specific hardwares. It just. Happens. So while we've been triying to find a fix it's just been lowering my review ratings slowly while i sit here HELPLESS and WATCH. Every time I thought we had a lead it turned out to be a dead. end. I had to launch and redact like 2 updates thinking I finally found the fix. But no. We checked EVERYHTING. Archer looked at Every. Single. For() loop. In the entire game, thinking one of them must be broken, right?? You know, since it's just a random freeze with no crash logs or log notes, right?? It's gotta be a for() or while() loop error? Or perhaps it's a memory leak or something, right? But no. No. No. No. NO!!!!!!!! After all this time I think we found the solution and you know what it is? A damn DRIVER ISSUE. Graphicss. F*cking. Drivers. GRAPHCIS DRIVERSS!?????!?!!! NVIDIA!???: DAMN YOU!!!!!!!! DAMN YOU NVIDIA!!!!!!!! YOUR TELLING ME THIS WHOLE TIME IT WASN"T EVEN OUR FAULT????? I'VE BEEN RUNNING AROUDN THINKING I WAS A BAD DEVELOPER AND IT WAS REALLY NVIDIA??!!??!AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Anyways, I tried to simplify the reflection probes to accommodate for the earlier mentioned graphics driver issues, and we haven't been able to replicate the issue since on not 1 but 2 computers. I think it's safe to say the crashing is probably fixed now! Hopefully. If a single one of you updates their game to 1.2.4 and tells it's STILL crashing, I'm just gonna have to kill myself.

Distant Flux: System Initializing - DistantFluxSA
Content Changes:
  • Strength now boosts physical resists, to replace max encumbrance.

  • Paths no longer boost max encumbrance.

  • Stunned and Shocked conditions now affect stats other than max encumbrance.

  • Jetpack flight buff now increases Evasion. Jetpack provides less ability power per level.

  • Rebalanced project supply to be less across the board: 10 for equipment, 20 for consumables, and 50 for ammo. Note this will innately increase prices.

  • The base now starts at half supply for all items.

  • Supply threshold for triggering projects now uses base supply gain (times item level).

Innate Changes:
  • Disabled the encumbrance/immobilized mechanic (and updated dialogs to match). Short version: it was frustrating on character create to pick proficiencies and not be able to use them, and at the same time, over the course of the game, encumbrance becomes trivial (it doesn't scale). Also, it was bit clunky in the background.

  • Disabled any kind of ability or profession check related to weight or encumbrance.

  • Added inline action expansion dialogs. If you click "Expand" on the drone, zone, or target panes, you get a much bigger pane for the action list, and you isolate the selected target. (Note that since there are no actions on rooms on base, the expand button is dimmed there.)

  • Added large, modal dialogs for drone, zone, and base logs. If you click "Full" on the relevant log, it will show the large version.

  • Bugfix for base not spending crafting supply from purchases (meant supply was never decreasing).

  • Bugfix for project tab shadow not resetting properly on new game load.

This update shouldn't break saves. You'll need to start a new game to pick up content changes.

Labors

Labors are Daily, Weekly, and 2Weeks long challenges where you have to plant a certain number of items to get rewarded with gems, it is one of the best ways to get gems in game!

Boons

Boons are a substantial upgrades to your farm, giving you the ability to get more out of your farming, crafting and selling! you gain them by completing main quests with Enid.
