Into The Inferno - jason
Changes in the new Into The Inferno version:

  • Your group can now have six characters instead of four. If you have less than 6 characters, you can add more at the inn. It's also possible to start the game with any number of characters from 1-6 if you want to start with a smaller party. Feel free to try to beat the game with a solo rogue.
  • The character sheet has been redesigned, and items can managed by clicking on them. Mousing over or selecting an item will show its details if it's been identified.
  • The status window now has character portraits. For existing parties, portraits will be selected randomly and will probably not be right for your character. They can be changed via arrows on the character sheet, and will save along with your game, so don't forget to save when you change portraits.
  • Gold is now party-wide rather than per-character. There's no longer any need to pool or split money.
  • Added item statistics to the shop window so you know what you're purchasing.
  • The healer can also cure paralysis and disease now.
  • Chests have been added to the game. They are very rare and are typically only found after difficult battles. They will have more gold and a higher chance of dropping an item, but are usually have dangerous traps. The skills of a thief, trickster, or mercenary are helpful in disarming a trapped chest.
  • Fixed an intermittent issue with selling items in shops.
  • Game controllers are now supported. Keyboard and controller mapping can be changed by selecting "Controls" on the escape key menu.
  • The graphics system has changed. There is now dynamic time-of-day-based lightning plus weather and clouds.
  • The view distance is no longer infinite. You can see 25 map squares at most, although this will only be noticeable in the wilderness zones.
  • A belt equipment slot has been added and a few belt items have been added to the game.
  • Added a handful of higher-level equipment drops to the Inferno levels of the dungeon.
  • A quest log window has been added, and it will show what quests you have in progress.
  • Sound effects have been added for casting spells and characters dying, and weather/nature ambience.
  • German language support has been added.
  • Some translation improvements.
  • Improved some map icons, particularly in the city.
  • The game's install size has been decreased slightly due to some build optimizations.

IMPORTANT! This update is still being tested. The information in this article is tentative and reflects the state of game development at the time of its publication. Some changes and new features may be removed entirely or implemented differently by the time the update goes live.

Mode Shuffle

The highlight of the current test is the Mode Shuffle, a new temporary battle type that places you into one of three game modes:

  • Airship Escort: Help your team's airship reach the finish line first by escorting it and hindering the enemy airship's progress.

  • Convoy: Enter the battle as either a raider or defender as a flotilla of AI transport ships push forward to reach their destination across the map.

  • Arms Race: The battlefield is littered with buffs for your team. Be the first to claim them and leverage your advantage to defeat the enemy team!
New French Destroyers Line

A new branch of French Destroyers from Tiers V–X will be entering Early Access soon! Introducing L'Adroit, Duchaffault, Le Hardi, L'Aventurier, Orage, and Cassard.





This line features powerful torpedoes with high damage, speed, and a long range. Starting with Le Hardi, these torpedoes will deal considerable damage at close range, but decrease in power the farther they travel.

Note: These ships will not be available during the Public Test.


Support Consumables in Brawls

In Update 13.6, you will be able to participate in three Brawls, featuring a twist to make battles even more engaging.

Support consumables will boost your team's effectiveness in battle. You may remember them from the Piñata Hunt event or 25th season of Clan Battles, but this time, the rules have changed: only specific support consumables will be available in each format.

Astrodle - Astrodle
This patch fixes two issues with missions:
  • On the way: fixed an issue where the internal memory of the Target wasn't properly reset when withdrawn, only after it had travelled more than one orbit.
  • Annihilation: changed the wording of the mission to better explain the task at hand.
    • From: Detonate the Detonator and destroy all the Blobs in orbit at once.
    • To: Detonate the Detonator and destroy as many Blobs as the current Orbital Capacity.

Design
  • Added advanced setup option No Events. This disables all events except those necessary for game progression or for leaders' unique abilities.
New crowning ambitions added:
  • 8 Elder specialists in each Family Seat
  • Polytheism and 4 Elder Acolytes in each Family Seat
  • Stockpile 2000 of each resource
  • Send 20 luxuries
  • Amended crowning ambition 'Six Strong cities with positive happiness' to Six cities with positive happiness'
  • Leader and heir now get an additional trait option that is not related to their current job when upgrading
  • Raging tribes will now get a centralized AI whenever they have at least one city in their possession
  • Doubled the effect of Righteous and Debauched traits

Programming
  • AI value for garrisons lowered
  • AI is more mindful of danger when moving units from one location to another, if it can't get there on the same turn
  • Removed UI XML hotloading
  • Added more multiplayer client logging
  • Possible fix for occasional reconnection failures in MP
  • Mapscript mods consisting of a source file are now deprecated and will show warning message in Manage mods screen

UI
  • Added turn summary entry for new techs and consolidated some categories
  • Border expansion now shown when hovering over the unit widget of a worker constructing an improvement
  • Changed 'Default Settings' Option Preset name to 'Standard Settings' to reflect it no longer being the default
  • Added loading hourglass cursor to scenario menu
  • City founding previews now update only borders, rather than all terrain. Borders now only update vegetation when "increase border visibility" is enabled
