We're back! Over the jam, Encabulated Games produced Tidal Reign, and it was a crazy ton of fun to work on, but that's besides the point - it's time to talk about the progress on the editor!

Error Placement!

The newest (and coolest) thing about the editor is that you can now place errors in it properly! Take a look:

This system was actually programmed by Rezarg, the one responsible for the achievement, discord rich presence and other features. I, in turn, did my best to give the placement system some visual flare (still working on it).

How the note placement currently works is that you can place errors anywhere on a line with left click - and then delete them by clicking on the error with left click again. To be honest, this felt a little counter-intuitive when I first used it, and I'm rather used to deleting with right click.

Obviously there is a balance between making the UI juicy and not overdoing it, causing the editor to be cumbersome to use due to everything moving and bouncing. I think?? I've been balancing it well. Obviously our goal is to make the editor as fun to use as possible.

If YOU have any thoughts on this placement system, regarding how it looks or its mechanics, please don't hesitate to inform us on them! Most of the dev team hasn't really used level editors for rhythm games, so we're learning as we go.

Next Up..

This week was a little slow due to some personal things, the end of the Flowjam (I run a livestream at the end of each one, as well as playing and rating them all). Next week I am also going to be doing work on a "large" update for Tidal Reign that should take around half the week. BUT!!! Online classes are essentially done at this point, with only one rather easy hurdle left to clear (after all of the really annoying ones launched at me this summer). I was sort of forced to learn how to maximize my productivity during the Flowjam and I'm really looking forward to continuing that for the rest of the summer (and beyond).

Next week, playback and BPM will get work done.. we'll see how much time and energy it'll take to build, though. Only one way to find out :) See you next week!

Magic Potion Liberators - ARTIFACTS
制作が手つかずの部分を無くすべく頑張ってきましたが、ついに全エリアの背景も仕上がりました!
これでようやく、全体を通しプレイしつつ調整していけるようになりました。

I have been working hard to eliminate the areas that have been left untouched, and I have finally finished the backgrounds for all areas!
Now I can finally play through the entire project and make adjustments as I go.



マナ取得時に、そのフロアでの取得数をプレイヤー頭上に表示するようになりました。
どれくらい稼げてるか把握しやすくなったと思います。

When acquiring mana, the number of mana acquired in the floor is now displayed above the player's head.
It is now easier to see how much mana has been earned.



強化ポーション選択時、レアなポーションがレアとわかるようにエフェクトを追加。

Added an effect when selecting a reinforce potion so that rare potions can be identified as rare.

全エリアの背景が完成したので、各エリアBGM再生時に背景が表示されるように。

前作で評判の良かった無敵魔法を、今作にも導入。
せっかく稼いだマナが半分になるリスクがありますが、それでも負けられない戦いに挑む時などにどうぞ。

The invincibility magic that was well-received in the previous title has been introduced in this title as well.
Although there is a risk that the mana you have earned will be cut in half, you can still use it when challenging a battle that you cannot lose.

  • Trader and transporter counts updated to match new game constants.

  • Outdated buildings rebuilt using base stats, upgrades, modifications, synergy, and global effects.

  • Moved road/bridge deconstruction to a new build menu item.
