My Time at Evershine - 样

Hi Governors,

It’s been a while. As some may have noticed, it's September and we still haven't released the first KS build yet. In truth, we’ve been having some problems with the main gameplay loop and it has been impeding our overall progress. We want to give you a quick update on the progress.

When we first started planning for Evershine, we’d wanted to give you an experience where you get personal growth role-play as well as the strategy involved in team and city planning. We would use stats such as money, health, comfort, hunger to help the player mark the milestones of settlement development. The story would use the stats to create problems for the player to solve, pushing it forward. At least on paper, it looked like it could work well. But as we finally finished all the separate parts and combined them into one build at the end of last year, the result was unsatisfactory. 

The two styles were in constant conflict: The RPG part would send the player out into the field, but the strategy part wanted to keep the player in the base; The RPG part wanted the player to do things in linear fashion while the strategy part wanted the player to have more freedom. We ended up with multiple situations where the story told you to do one thing but the strategy part didn’t really need it. On top of that, it was a pain to express all the stats in third person and to keep track of all things (nobody wanted to care about Ragnar being hungry again for the 6th time!). It was a mess.

So we had a decision to make: continue with what the build had and hope we solve the conflicts down the road or spend time tweaking the main loop until we’re satisfied. Of course we chose the second option. 

We did discuss if we wanted to go back to a Builder type of gameplay, but this being the third game, we wanted to give players something new. We went through several iterations trying to hit the right balance, after ten months of development, we think we’re getting pretty close. We ended up simplifying the strategy parts of the gameplay loop and tilting the game more towards open world exploration and RPG.

Of course, due to the gameplay loop tweaks, the main story was also tweaked. Some characters became more important while others had their roles diminished. The challenges facing the settlement also got… more challenging? The twists are still *redacted*.

Despite the setbacks, development is proceeding at a fast clip; the systems, character stories, and art assets didn’t stop development because of main loop issues. We’re doing our best to make available the KS build soon, and we look forward to your feedback!

Mini Cozy Room: Lo-Fi - G1 Playground

This is the development team of Mini Cozy Room: Lo-Fi.

A minor update has been released today.
The main details are as follows:

\[Feature Adjustments]

  • To reduce confusion for users accustomed to the previous UI, the design of the Session Timer has been adjusted to resemble the older version.

  • The timer gauge at the bottom of Mini Mode now also works for the standard Timer and Stopwatch. (It displays the timer of the currently selected tab.)

  • A confirmation popup has been added when deleting Note/To-Do groups.

  • When a To-Do list is long, moving an item to the top/bottom now triggers automatic scrolling. The same behavior has been applied to list views as well.

\[Bug Fixes]

  • Fixed an issue where scrolling did not work properly in the To-Do list.

  • Fixed an issue where scrollbars were always visible in Notes and To-Dos.

  • Scrollbar colors now change according to the skin color of Notes and To-Dos.

  • Fixed an issue where certain background skin elements of the Timer did not change color.

  • Fixed an issue where the zoom level of Notes reset after restarting the game.

  • Fixed an issue where duplicated Notes did not inherit the zoom level of the original.

We will continue to do our best to make the game one you can truly enjoy.

Hello everyone!

In this update, we’re introducing one of the game’s core systems: the Faction System.

Faction System

Factions are the powers that form under the umbrella of a kingdom.

Each faction is run by high-ranking nobles who own fiefs, and their conflicts of interest and struggles for power shape the character of the faction. Even within the same kingdom, factions are not always allies—they may constantly scheme against one another.

Every faction has its own rule, which can be thought of as its guiding belief or motto. Players can set the ideals their faction follows, creating immersive and unique playstyles.

Some factions maintain close ties, while others are locked in rivalries. Players must take advantage of these relationships, navigating through conflict to gain the greatest benefit.

Each faction also bears its own banner. The colors, symbols, and patterns of a banner are not mere decorations, but expressions of a faction’s identity and pride. Design your own banner and see it fly proudly over the fiefs you conquer!

Additionally, bandits may form factions of their own depending on their size and organization. Smaller bands may be relatively easy to suppress, but the larger, more organized groups are formidable forces that should not be underestimated. Their presence poses unexpected threats across the land, so tread carefully.

Titles and Offices

Titles are determined by the number of fiefs you control. The hierarchy runs from Knight, Baron, Count, Duke, Archduke, King, up to Emperor. While title progression is not yet implemented, in the future players will be able to climb this ladder by conquering more fiefs and expanding their domain.

Controlling fiefs also allows players to appoint various offices. Chancellors and stewards handle administration, Commander and knight commanders lead the armies, while banneret knights guard and stabilize the lands around your fiefs. How you appoint and utilize these roles will greatly affect the stability and growth of your faction.

Other Improvements
  • Weapon stats have been adjusted for greater stability.
  • The UI has been refined for overall clarity and usability.
  • Siege and battle map data have been expanded.
  • Combat and environmental effects have been enhanced for a more immersive experience.
  • Fixed an issue where some NPCs did not display interactions or greetings.
