Hi everybody,

While the team has been busy as we aim to release Early Access of Silence of the Siren this year, we still keep fixing any issues in Project Hospital that you report (and that don't turn out to be caused by incompatible mods or local issues with the game install. :) We've been seeing these quite regularly, especially in the last few months).

As with previous updates, we have put the new version on a beta branch first. If you'd like to help us with the last round of testing, especially to check different kinds of hardware and setups, you can switch to beta-patch-41-test in Properties in your Steam library, try the patch early and let us know if you run into any issues!

The release notes are listed below as always:

Project Hospital - Oxymoron Games
Hello everybody,

It looks like it's time to slowly wrap up 2023 and like every year, let us take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year! Also, we would like to thank everybody who bought Project Hospital during the last 12 months or participated in the currently running beta test of Silence of the Siren, our upcoming turn based strategy game. Welcome to the community!

For us, the year was mostly consumed by Silence of the Siren, as we're getting closer and closer to its planned release in Early Access. We visited several conferences across Europe including Gamescom and EGX and had a great time showing the game to a lot of you.

With Project Hospital, we were mostly helping players with the occasional technical issue and some compatibility problems on the Steam Deck. Also thanks for a few very nice messages with feedback and ideas we received during the year!

The team will now be mostly off until January 2nd, which means we might not be available on our social channels. If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to ask our amazing community here on the Steam forum, otherwise we should be able to get back to you at the beginning of January.

For now enjoy the holidays and the upcoming Winter Sale!

Hello everyone!

With the year 2022 almost at the end, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Holiday and a Happy New Year. We know it was a difficult year for many of you and new challenges didn’t miss our studio as well. But in the end we are excited about what awaits us in 2023.

Even though active development of Project Hospital has ended and no more DLC is planned, we continue to support the game. We added Steam Deck support so you can play the game everywhere. With new patches we tried to improve the game with recent patch 40 being the last one of this year. Our biggest event though was the announcement of Silence of the Siren, a sci-fi turn-based strategy game. For us it is an opportunity to try something new and we hope many of you will join Early Access which we plan to release next year.

The team will now need to recharge a little bit and will be taking a holiday until January 2nd, which means we might not be available on our social channels. If you encounter any issues, don’t hesitate to ask our amazing community on the Steam forum, if they can’t help, we should be able to get back to you at the beginning of January.

We hope the start of your Holiday will be more enjoyable with the Steam Winter Sale where Project Hospital will be available with a 50% discount and 20% discount for all DLCs.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi everybody, after a few weeks on a Steam beta branch, the next minor patch for Project Hospital with the usual set of bugfixes and UI improvements is now officially out. Enjoy!

Changes
- Closed departments in management mode are rendered with desaturated colors, not completely grayed out
- Switched icon in the patients table for patients waiting for an ambulance from 'a waiting patient' to 'an ambulance'

Fixes
- Fixed janitors without matching specialization allowed to be assigned to a gift shop or a management office

- Fixed patients with iron deficiency anemia stuck when sent to ICU because of its treatment only available at emergency
- Fixed zooming in using a keyboard shortcut instead of the mouse or a button on the main panel not progressing the "zoom in step" in tutorial 1
- Fixed a couple of symptoms showing wrong description text
- Fixed a rare case of blocked patients when diagnosing them outside of trauma center in tutorial 3
- Fixed a wrong description shown for the 'stiffness of the joints' symptom

Hi everybody,

As we announced a couple of days ago, we're mostly ready to release the next update of Project Hospital which brings official support for the Steam Deck and the usual delivery of fixes and improvements including some welcome fixes of community translations.

As this has really helped with the last few releases, we're once again making the version available early on a beta branch so the community and especially modders can try it out and check that everything works on their side.

The release notes are listed below, the beta branch you can switch to in Properties in your library is beta-patch-39-test. Let us know if you find any issues and we're very interested to hear any feedback about the controls on the Deck when any of you receive yours - we'll create a pinned thread in the discussions on the community page for that.

Hi everybody, we have some quite exciting news: after a bit of testing we're pleasantly surprised by how well Project Hospital works on the Steam Deck! As you may know, we never planned a console version because of both controls and performance, but the touchpad on the Deck really makes this possible.

We're finishing a version with controls mapped to the Deck's input, properly using the virtual keyboard and including some small tweaks, we plan to make it available for you with the next patch later this week and hopefully we'll get the game verified by Valve soon.

In the meantime we'd love to hear your opinions: Do any of you plan to get the Steam Deck or have already preordered it? What are your experiences playing games with a controller using a virtual cursor?
