Are you a fan of Castle Crashers Steam? If you said "yes," "yeah," "yeehaw," "hai," "fo shizzle," or any other variation of agreement, then you may be interested to know that we're bringing BattleBlock Theater to Steam for Windows!

Watch our announcement trailer and by the time you’re finished with it, you’ll have one word stuck in your head all day: STEAM!!!

New Features
  • Weapon switching! Players can now switch between a primary and secondary weapon in game!
  • New Cat Guard enemies throughout Story Mode.
  • Steam Workshop integration for sharing user created levels.
  • Steam Inventory integration for trading! This allows users to trade and sell weapons, prisoners, gems and yarn via Steam.
  • X input, Direct Input, and Keyboard/Mouse support.

BattleBlock Theater Steam (version) is going to manifest moments in your mind you never thought would be possible. Don’t believe us? Try the game yourself before it even makes its official release on Steam.

From March 24, 2014 to March 31, 2014, we’ll be holding a Closed Beta for this upcoming PC edition of our game. A Closed Beta means you’ll need to register to get a beta key, but anyone 13-years-old and up are welcome to sign up! Sign ups end THIS FRIDAY, March 21st.

The Beta start date is of course subject to change. We’re still updating and testing a bunch of items, and in the event something doesn’t feel right we might adjust the beta start. Regardless of this, we encourage you to register now.

Another exciting way of playing Castle Crashers Steam Edition is coming your way! This summer, Gestureworks Gameplay 2 will allow players to turn their Android phones and tablets turn into fully customizable Virtual Controllers for games on PC.

Hack and slash through the Castle Crashers world with up to 4 friends using your touch devices!

While the Virtual Controllers can emulate the joystick, buttons, D-pad, and other controls of a standard game control, the easy-to-use drag and drop interface allows for so much more customization. Opacity, size, and sensitivity can all be adjusted and there are even game-specific skins available such as for Castle Crashers with each of the four controllers showing a unique color and character from the game.”

Check out the new GestureWorks Gameplay software that comes out this month! GestureWorks Gameplay's Workshop here.

Last month, we highlighted GestureWorks Gameplay on our blog because the new software allows virtual controllers on an Intel tablet to work with numerous PC games, including our very own Castle Crashers Steam Edition!

Gameplay even held a beta and we promised to give 50 randomly selected beta participants a free copy of Castle Crashers Steam (winners to be chosen by Ideum/GestureWorks Gameplay)!

Now is your chance to check out how this software works by clicking here. If this is something you'd like to see available on Steam, you can help by rating it up using the buttons on that page.

If you aren't convinced or just want some visual stimulation, here's a direct link to a video of Castle Crashers on Intel's new Bay Trail tablet using GestureWorks Gameplay: YouTube Video

Castle Crashers Steam Update 1.4

Our QA team and programmers have been working hard to work on a new update for Castle Crashers Steam Edition. Going live today will be an update that has the following adjustments:

  • Fixed low-frequency crashes on specific settings and help pages
  • Lag alleviation when playing online with certain computers
  • Alleviated button press delay for certain computers

We will let you know as soon as the update goes into effect. At that point, any Castle Crashers Steam players will be prompted to update when logging in to CC Steam. Individuals who purchase the game after update 1.4 has gone live will not need to redownload the update since it will already be the most recent version of the game.

We are continuing to improve the game and trying to give you the best quality support. If you encounter any issues in Castle Crashers (or any of our games), please let us know by using our support system: http://www.thebehemoth.com/support
