Changes :
  1. The camera can now be freely moved around by dragging the background with the mouse / using the "camera mode" with the controller.

  2. Middle mouse button can now recenter the camera around the puzzle pieces.

  3. New floating text tutorials to explain these new controls

  4. Some levels move the camera to new areas with darker / lighter moods that correspond better to their theme.

  5. The mining theme's rocks' lights now gradually pulse from dark to bright

  6. Minor visual changes to the level select screen

Fixed Bugs :
  1. Level 5 sometimes started with a missing piece

  2. The player could clip through solid platforms when a piece was picked up and dropped very quickly

  3. The player could enter the "ghost piece" overlay

  4. Terrain changes could thread infinitely

  5. Pressing ESC in certain menus would play the SFX twice

  6. The mouse cursor was slightly offset

Known, Unfixed Bugs :
  1. The player's speed can increase temporarily if they try to dig while in between a dirt block and a wall

  2. Some player animations may play strangely when running into a wall

  3. Puzzle pieces edge lights do not connect properly between them

Linear Calamity - Crimson Heart
TRANSLATION SUPPORT

Finally the game is able to be translated to multiple languages, for now, I have only added support for pt/BR, but later (with some community help) I want to add other languages. Now that the base is already working, it won't be as hard to implement others.

Other things on this update

Added a few new materials for a new progression item.

Wax: you can melt a candle completely using a cooking pan (select the cooking pan then the candle) to get wax

tip: you get a cooking pan by either spending a torch + a normal pan or by using a lit campfire to instantly turn a pan into a cooking pan.

Bone: You can get bones from corpses or skeletons. You may use 2 bones to craft bone meal.

Using wax and bone meal together crafts a bone candle, that will be important next version.

Lantern fish: By using wax as a bait in the fish trap, you may trap a lantern fish, when used, reveals the position of items around you, while also emitting light.

Difficulty: The difficulty menu now actually lets you choose the 'secret difficulties'

BUG FIXES

The survivor won't spawn anymore on purgatory.

The survivor won't spawn after his quest is completed.

Fixed crash on some text adventures in between corridors.

Fixed bug where the monster would never detect smell trails.

Hey everyone!

Work on Nothing Beyond This Point has been ongoing for a while now, but I haven't made any posts in a while! That seems wrong. I should make a post in the form of a progress update! And here we are.

An Area Aoverview

There's 16 areas planned for NBTP, and of those, 13 are completely done right now! The 14th one is in progress, but it's gonna take a bit longer than most, considering its gimmick is quite... special. Honestly, it's worth playing the game for the 14th area alone.

Things that you can look out for now also include, but are absolutely not limited to:

  • A big fancy puzzle!

  • Obelisk 2.0, now with less corruption!

  • Burnable flags!

  • Killer bosses!

  • Eyes.

Eyes?

What's with the eyes, anyway? ...It's probably fine.

I'm constantly going back through areas and improving things. More item animations, additional decoration, improved layouts, and so on. The bigger a game is, the longer it takes to make. But worry not, the enemies, bosses, and their musical tracks are of the highest quality. According to me.

The soundtrack will be uploaded to Youtube and get its own 1$ purchase! It'll likely be about 1.5 hours long and I'm sure you'll like most of it.

Marketing Efforts

Speaking about Youtube! Making a game is hard. Making a good game is extremely hard. Marketing a game? Impossible. I'll be a bit transparent about what I'm doing.

I'm on a continuous process to scout out Twitch streamers, Youtubers, and other content creators that may like to play Nothing Beyond This Point. I currently have over 100 emails and several Discords to spread the message, but if you know anyone in particular, let me know.

I'll also be distributing the game via Steam's Curator Connect system - but only once it's content-complete!

Are You Still On Track?

Yes, I am still on track. Early 2026 release will most likely happen. Depending on how soon I'll be done with the base content, I may add some bonus things as well! Things that are on the table include:

  • Boss rush

  • The Bestiary

  • 4 extra bosses, with rewards

  • Secret rooms

  • Another ending (there's 3 planned so this'll be the 4th)

  • Who knows!

If you buy the game at launch, it'll be complete, but I'll always keep fixing things and will likely add post-launch features too. So don't hesitate! Wishlist Nothing Beyond This Point and have a jolly good time venturing through the endless Void.

But seriously, though, what is it with these eyes?

Hola ! It's been quite some time, we have been working actively on the game as always, daily or close to it ! 😀

Sadly, there's no release date yet, but given how things are going right now (I can't make any promises) I think you can expect something in the near future.

As lots of things are being worked on and polished to fit the final intended look, I want to share one of them: the Sandbox area! This place has changed quite a few times, but I think I now have the final design with all the mechanics. You might notice a few things that weren't included in the demo version of the game. 👀

As I was working on something for the team, I thought I was able to share a bit of it to everyone, So here is the chart that I will use to build the levels in the next days/weeks.
I censored the majority of it but this might give a idea of the actual size of the game (You can expect the new additions to the hidden section to be as frequent as those to the revealed section.) :D

One last thing, and it's a really important one : as I write this, we're really close to hitting 400 wishlists ! This is huge ! I was hoping to get 200 wishlists for the game, but I've managed to get twice that number. I can't thank everyone enough for sharing the game and posting a review on the demo, it's a huge huge help !

Union Fixes
  • When creating a union with a special alliance like the HRE, the civilization will now be added to the alliance if it wasn't already a member.
  • If a union is created with the Emperor or the alliance leader, the player will become the new Emperor.
  • Manpower, regiment limit, and income bonuses are now correctly awarded after becoming Emperor.
  • Unions are disabled when playing in Age of Chaos mode.
