Released November 8th

Minor changes:
-Added new dialogue strings so Whiskers and Skid (whoever is left in HQ) will react if the player brings Clint to see them
-Fixed bug where Wilson would not give discounted goods if Clint was in the party (getting him later in the game and speaking to Wilson will now trigger the proper exchange)
-Fixed Final Boss to have regular (no SP needed) attacks. No longer stops attacking the player if all SP is drained.
-Lowered the price of Strong Stitches to 35 Teeth instead of 50
-Sorted all maps by order of appearance in the RPGMaker2003 folder window
-Other small bugfixes

As of 09/13/2019, TinkerQuarry has exited Early Access. The game is now fully available for purchase on the Steam store page.

The Future

So, what's next, you may be asking? I've already touched on the subject briefly before in other news updates, but for the sake of a recap and overall reiteration, here's what I currently have planned.

  • TinkerQuarry will continue to receive periodic updates post v1.0. This will most likely include visual updates (new assets, artwork, etc.), and minor bugfixes / changes if needed (any remaining errors, dialogue, syntax, etc.).
  • There will not be any more main plot-related changes that will massively impact current in-game switches, so the game can continue to be playable in its current state no matter the save from here on out. (as Opposed to Early Access, where resets frequently had to be made)
  • The addition of more recruitable characters aside from the current cast is being tested.
  • Support for the TinkerQuarry Discord Server will continue for as long as it is relatively active
  • New projects and games will be announced via this Discord and other social media

I am happy to announce that TinkerQuarry has reached the end of its' Early Access life cycle, and version 1.0 will be released September 13th, 2019 (Friday the 13th!).

REMINDER: As mentioned previously, this transition does include a $4.99 USD price change, applying henceforth for all future players. Those who currently have TinkerQuarry in their Library / have played it in Early Access will not be effected by this change.

Minor Changes:
-Fixed issue where Peter would turn into Adeline while trying to use the plastic sheet
-Fixed tileset collision issue in the dreamcatcher chamber
-Fixed approaching staya in an odd way causing cutscene image(s) to be misaligned
-Fixed some minor spelling errors
-Fixed chase scene Staya having super low HP (no more one hit KOs for you)
-Replaced Wind Up sounds with ZapSplat alternatives

I am still investigating reports regarding issues with credits videos, though it is likely an unfortunate pre-v0.9 save bug

If you have experienced an issue where the credits music plays but no video footage is present-and you were playing on a save that was created in or after v.9.0- please let me know down below!

Minor Changes:
-Added tech to Clint's laboratory
-Removed deadname from credits
-Fixed plastic sheet related bug in pre-finale hall
-Fixed a minor bug in hidden boss battle sequence
-Fixed some dialogue (typos, clarity, etc)
-Boosted players Swiftness stat growth
-Fixed being able to walk on walls in Dreamcatcher Chamber
-Fixed being able to walk upstairs as Peter
-Increased Clint speed
-Fixed minor cutscene issues
-Persisted wind sounds in finale sequence

Hello everyone! Been a while, hasn't it?

Thought I'd ought to give an update here since its been...quite a few months. The following will be a run-down of current development progress and updates, as well as an ETA for the next version of TinkerQuarry. I've also included some of my plans for post-v1.0 content.



Major News:
The new TQ trailer is live! You can view it on the store page. It contains new snippets of 0.9 and 1.0 that you can expect to see in the future, as well as classic trailer shots recorded from the new version. Special thanks to Antriksh Bali for providing the musical composition.

TinkerQuarry v0.9 ("Pre-Release Update") ETA: March 25

NOTICE: TinkerQuarry will soon exit Early Access / Free to Play, and will receive a price change to reflect the v1.0 product ($4.99 USD). Rest assured that if you currently own or have downloaded the game, you WILL NOT need to pay for this update or future versions.

v1.0 will be released as soon as possible, following an ETA announced here. A lot of testing will be done using v0.9 beforehand to provide the most stable and enjoyable user experience possible. Any and all bug reports are welcome both in the Discussion section and the discord.

tl;dr: v0.9 will be the last opportunity for (NEW) players to download the game for free. Once v1.0 is out, TinkerQuarry will receive a price change.

The Future (POST 1.0 Plans):
-TinkerQuarry will continue to receive aesthetic, technical, and functionality updates periodically based on user response, to the best of the team’s ability!



-More NPCs and recruitable characters will be added based on user input. Some minor story additions or changes may be added as well.

-Free story DLCs are planned and may be be added during post-release, with announcements made on Discord. These DLCs will be accessible via a new panel on the Main Menu.

Minor technical hotfix update to fix some issues with the last patch.
As always, please report any bugs to #bug-reports in the Discord server so I can clean them up ASAP!

Major fixes:
- Fixed issue with comfort cutscene that caused it to repeat and / or have characters in party not present
-Fixed issue with Tea party cutscene where it would play twice with different characters if the party consisted of Whiskers and Skid
-Fixed being able to escape Chimera fight by walking along the wall

Minor fixes:
-"Frelly" is now "Freely" in Clints Journal
-Fixed some Tira dialogue issues and decreased her walk frequency
-Added area to starting room to be utilized later
-Fixed bug where the player could slide backwards away from Wemblin if moving between dialogue boxes
-Made Wemblin say "Ran" less often.

(Happy Belated 4th of July!)

Major changes:
-Laboratory Segment / Story content
-Clint's Journal
-Changed mechanics to shops to help reduce chances of multiple common item stacks ("Standard Stock" and "Shopkeeper's Specials" Options)
-New Enemy: Plastic Rats
-2 More Flashbacks (One before the others, accessible via the 3rd floor -> 4th floor stairs)
-New Item: Rat King Crown
-Removed Clints where Clints Should Not Be (Let me know if you find any MORE Clints where Clints Should Not Be...)
-Slammed the Nerfhammer on the Chimera's kneecaps. Should still be difficult but not near impossible to beat.
-Changed all music so it loops better / removed bits that broke loop rhythem the most.
-Fixed broken Rat King fight for some paths (namely, every path except the ones Clint is in.)
-Buffed Staya and Sera -slightly- to accomodate Spilling buff
-Experimental "Multi-battles" in new "Plagued" rooms, on 2nd and 1st floor. Random encounters do not exist in the Locked Halls.

Minor changes:
-More dialogue added to some characters in Lower Residence Hall
-Red flash before Flashbacks
-All rats now show blood in red instead of grey when Impaired / near Impairment for continuity purposes
-Final Grandfather Clock Poem
-Adeline's battleChar no longer has a shifting parcel when impaired in battle
-Swing Skill now does more damage and causes a different status effect. It's also cheaper.
-Smash Skill no longer inflicts Daze, but causes more damage.
-Ire added to the Tunnels.
-Missing descriptions restored
-Can no longer clamber on the wall in the Study (You aren't Skid.)
-Fixed Flashback character clambering on walls, too
-Spilling Status Effect has been re-buffed. It's actually viable again. You're welcome.
-Peter's attack has been boosted to help him stop landing pathetic regular attacks as often
-New Odettes in Tunnels / Study Transit now play the right music after using
-Wemblin now has some special late-game items

THIS UPDATE SHOULD NOT REQUIRE A NEW SAVE IF YOUR GAME'S LAST VERSION WAS AT 0.5.1.
(However, if you experience any "Phantom" Clints from 0.5.1, send me your save on Discord and I'll fix that for you.)

Major Changes:
-All new soundtrack tracks by Antriksh Bali (some need loop tweaking)
-Lori Redesign
-Righthand side of Locked Halls for extended story content
-Stat changes to reflect character "Classes" (Ex: Peter is now more of a "Tank" class)
-Title Screen Update with company splash logo
-New Enemies and Environmental Threat: Tinker Rats and Void Arms
-New Characters, NPCs, first pass of Raffle Character "Wemblin" ( designed by Skid Enthusiast on DIscord ! )
- Fourth Floor redesign ( Glass Dragon as a static Sprite and not an image, puzzle for lever )
- New "Weight" Sprite ( because Staya isn't all that talented )
- Other Additional puzzles, changing Locked Halls route to the lower Rez hall
- " Flashbacks " ( 2/4 done )
- Dialogue Additions and tweaks
- Player will now crawl in vents
- Tweak to all battle BGs so sprites mostly stay in center frame and not obscured by HUD


Minor Changes
- Loads of bugfixes ( Stella, advice system, etc)
- New Clint note
-Nerfed Staya and other bosses to accommodate stat changes
-Lowered cost of Ire's healing service to 100 teeth per use


PLEASE START A NEW GAME FOR THIS PATCH. Story content has changed and areas once open may now be closed unless certain tasks are taken. Many switches have been tweaked as well.

Other News: The next few patches will be smaller, adding primarily story content, new enemies, and experimental features such as the Toy "Element" battle system, and Camime Puzzles. All of this will then build up to the "end" of the game, which will be the next megapatch. We're in the home stretch now!

Current saves should be retained per-computer.
HOWEVER, (in the rare case that it is not....

How do I save my current save file to use it in an upcoming update?
-Go to the TinkerQuarry Steam folder and locate each file that says "save". Copy these to a separate folder and carry them back over to the new version once it updates. Until Steam Cloud is implemented, all saves will be wiped from the Steam Folder, so it is recommended to save them elsewhere if the next version is compatible.
