It'll be our first public talk about the game since we missed our first chance to visit GDC in 2020 when COVID hit the world. Dev Night is no scale compared to GDC, but we hope to extend our coverage this year and it should be a good trial run!

This will be the last update for now. There were a few lingering things I wanted to tweak, but as is often the case, everything is so interconnected that fixing one element can unexpectedly affect another.

The good news is — everything’s now working as intended! 🎉

Novus Orbis - Seizo Games
Between life events and building a new computer (plus moving the entire project over), this update took a bit longer than usual.

But it’s finally here—a long-planned and frequently requested feature: the Archive!

The "Achievements" tab in both the main menu and in-game menu has now been replaced with a new "Archive" tab.
Opening it will bring up a new menu with three categories: Cards, Blessings, and Achievements.

From here, you can browse all the content you've unlocked so far!

  • For Cards and Blessings, any locked content will appear behind a question mark. You'll see the name, but the details remain hidden until unlocked.

  • Once unlocked, newly discovered entries will be marked as "New" the first time you view them—this label will remain until you end your current session.

In the future, this menu may also include archives for Pets and Enemies.

With this feature out of the way, I'll start making a new level for the next update :D

Additions:
  • (General) Archive menu.

Changes:
  • (Enemy) Darkness Elemental will now cycle between its two actions, avoiding getting stuck only casting evasion.
  • (Enemy) Current Elemental was wrongly getting double its supposed Electrify status on fight start. It now gets its intended amount. The base value has also been decreased to 8 from 10.
  • (Event) Using a Fancy Bottle at the Pond will now give you the bottle back. (To avoid wasting the card for people who still don't know its use).
  • (Event) Small visual change for the Blood Bank event.
  • (UI) Changed the icon for Ebonactite's Death Wish status to a red hue, to hopefully make it more visible to new players.
  • (UI) Fixed the fact that most of the Mage's skill cards had a red combo outline, instead of the intended blue.


Bug Fixes:
  • The formula to reduce enemies stats when they appear in a level before their intended one (specifically for the new Lands versions) was wrong, making the enemies much stronger than intended. Their stats should now be more in line with the actual level's difficulty.
  • Fixed Ice Elemental showing a "buff" icon for its block and evasion actions.
  • Removed the Evasion tooltip from Relax card.

Crystal Horizons - screscent
Hey all! Allow me to introduce a new addition to the Tile Panel in the top left; we now have custom icons for unique Tile Effects! Here we have Guard Aura, the passive defense buff granted by Knights, and Sanctified, a lingering healing effect placed by the Lumimancer's Sanctuary spell. While they are done in the same style as our status effect icons, they have a different shape to help them stay distinguishable.



There isn't really a limit to how many unique tile effects can be affecting a single tile at once, so I thought some icons would help break up the text and make it easier to recognize what's going on when lots of effects are in play. Originally, we did consider having visual effects on the tiles themselves, but that would add far too much visual clutter. As such, only active Tile Elements, like Burning and Steam, will have persistent visual effects. This way, players should be able to tell at a glance what elements they can cause reactions with, without getting confused by other active effects. That's all for this week!

  1. 🎵 Note hit keys have been changed from Enter and Space to F and J. You can now customize your key settings in the options menu!
  2. 🎵 Shadows have been added to note lines and notes to improve visibility.
  3. 🎵 The trumpet part in the "The Snack Thief" stage has been adjusted to match the music more accurately.
  4. 🎵 The spacing of triplet notations in both "The Snack Thief" and "Rainbow Cat" stages has been unified.
  5. The note lines now appear in advance on the "SARA" and "SEHA's Story" stages to help you prepare for the performance.
  6. The key sound effects in the "Tutorial" stage have been improved.
  7. 🎵 The playtime of the pudding mini-game has been shortened, and sound effects have been enhanced.
  8. 🎵 Mouse input is now available when the screen is rotated.
  9. 🎵 When moving from the school to the town, Sara now spawns in front of the stairs.
  10. 🎵 Sprint state is now maintained when changing locations.
  11. 🎵 A tutorial on sprinting will now appear the first time you enter the town.

[Bug Fixes]
  1. 🎵 Fixed an issue where difficulty selection did not work properly with a gamepad on the stage selection screen.
  2. 🎵 Fixed an issue where scores were not displayed on the stage selection screen.
  3. 🎵 Fixed an issue where assigning Q or E in the key settings menu would also trigger tab switching.
  4. 🎵 Fixed an issue where gamepad buttons could be assigned to keyboard keys in the key settings menu.
