Mission Journal: Patch #2.9.1.2284
Date of entry: 2149/04/18

Power Node Delta triggered a low-output alert at 14:17 MST. Investigation revealed dust accumulation on the southern solar array beyond automated brush capacity—likely due to recent high-wind activity. Drone crew was dispatched for manual cleaning. Output returned to nominal levels within 90 minutes. Preventative sweep scheduled for all external panels over the next two sols.

Optimization
Hello everyone, we have been working on optimizing the game past couple weeks. We have made some huge improvements and the game size itself downgraded to 1.2gb ish from 5.2gb.
Hopefully this will increase the performance and iron out the occuring freezes.
We are curious about your feedback on the game performance after this patch, will keep optimizing wherever we can and improve the game further.

  • Rage power button not working after quit/continue even when theres enough rage - fixed.

Hey everyone! Our last update was during Steam Next Fest, and even two months on we're still blown away by the response. Over 10,000 of you checked out the demo during the event and thousands more have left snowy footprints since. We've been more motivated than ever from seeing the excitement surrounding the world we're creating!

Demo Update
Since Next Fest, we've been hard at work completing the full game, fixing bugs and making improvements based on the hundreds of feedback messages we received and the dozens of streams we've watched. Beyond just getting the game in front of so many new people, these last few months have been incredibly valuable for us to improve the overall game before release. Since we aren't doing early access, the demo has doubled as a sort of beta test for us.

While most of our recent efforts have been in the later stages of the game, and while we still have more work to do based on the submitted feedback, we've taken the time to release an updated build of the demo that includes:

  • Various minor and some game-breaking bugs
  • Improvements to overall traversal mechanics
  • Enhancements to drone flight and navigation
  • Performance optimizations
  • Art and level design polish
  • Improvements to the auto save system
  • Newly recorded voice-over
  • Localization improvements for all 7 languages

Full Game Progress
We aren't quite ready to share a release date just yet (we've got one in mind, but we're going to be extra sure before finalizing it); however, we are excited to announce that the game has now been content complete for nearly a month, and as of today we've finished recording all voice-over for the entire game! Our main focus right now is QA testing (and more QA testing -- you can never do too much), polishing every detail and optimizing performance to make sure the game runs smoothly and looks great.

We're in the home stretch now, and we can't wait to share more soon. Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for your support! Feel free to pop into Discord, X or BlueSky and say hello as well.

Dragonium Adventure - Ale
Hello everyone!

We’re excited to announce that our new video game, Asteroid Forward, will be released on Steam and on Android mobile devices via the Google Play Store on June 14, 2025!

The Z9 galaxy is back—this time in the palm of your hand (or on that beast of a gaming PC you’ve got). Face tons of enemies one after another, complete the available Planets, and upgrade your spaceship by gathering more and more resources as you explore the entire galaxy!

You can already try the public beta version available on the Google Play Store.
Please note that your save data from the public beta will be deleted at launch, cross-save will not be supported at launch (although cross-play will be), and any content may vary from the final release.

It’s a free-to-play game with ads and completely optional in-app purchases, as the game is fully enjoyable even without spending a single cent.

Asteroid Forward is everything Asteroid never was, due to our lack of experience (it was our very first game!), and that’s why we decided to start from scratch, creating a complete experience right from the launch, more contained and tailored to our abilities. It’s not the super ambitious open-world live service we once envisioned for the original Asteroid, but rather a more casual game that includes all the elements we originally wanted to feature.

Asteroid is engraved in our hearts, but we were unable to continue its development for a number of reasons over time—limited resources and our inexperience being the main ones. It’s not a promise, but we do intend to completely redesign the original experience from the ground up in the near future.

Thank you for reading, and we’ll see you in the Z9 galaxy!

Directive 8020 - DaveSMG
A veteran explorer and the first man on Mars, Commander Stafford now leads Corinth's mission with the same determination that defined his career. For him, this is more than a mission - it’s a legacy.

A legacy that is in your hands...

Nolan Stafford, the first man on Mars, is a natural leader. As commander of the mission to Tau Ceti f, Stafford brings a respected authority, as well as a lifetime of discovery.

Stafford is the founding father of Corinth’s space programme. He has been instrumental in the success of many historic missions, but none more important than this. This mission marks his last before retirement, and he hopes to give it his all.

The ship’s pilot, Brianna Young, is the daughter of his closest friend and fellow astronaut, the late Bill Young. On their mission to Mars together Stafford promised Bill that he would watch out for Brianna at all costs.

Stafford has immense trust in his whole crew. He leads from the front and would never leave a crewmate behind!

“I’m proud and humbled to be leading the finest crew our planet has to offer… so that you can watch your children grow up, and their children for generations to come.”

Stay tuned for the next character spotlight, coming next week!

Empyreal - SecretModeLiam
Every face tells a story, and while not all are pleasant, it’s worth getting to know those around you, even just to better understand your mission.

Each character in Empyreal has their own questline, with multiple endings based on your actions. It’s up to you on whether their story has a happy ending, or if their fate was doomed from the very beginning.

In this final part of the trilogy, we’re looking at Hanwyn, Linet, and Isolda, their role in the Expedition, and any interesting information to note.

Hanwyn Dryden

“You will be pleased to hear we have made a significant breakthrough…”

An Emissary of the Crown, Hanwyn Dryden has been sent to appraise the value of the Expedition’s discovery as part of the total audit of Company assets. However, it doesn’t take a genius to see that his attention is drawn to the secrets that are being unearthed rather than his official duty.

While he doesn’t seem to have any weaponry, it would be a surprise if he didn’t have some tricks up his sleeve. Perhaps a bottle of Aqua Vitae may help getting to know him better and understand his ideals.

Linet Radclyffe

“Haha, glad to see your sense of humour is intact through this ordeal. Not everyone here has been so lucky…”

Linet Radclyffe is a hyper-rational, dogmatic archaeologist who seeks to find a logical and historical explanation for the Monolith’s existence.

Throughout your mission, report to her with any artefacts of significance to allow her to piece together the true history of the strange structure. She may even start to believe that not everything can be explained through common knowledge.

When she isn’t busy dusting off old relics, she enjoys drinking some Distilled Spirit.

Isolda

“Surely telling you would ruin my mysterious allure, and we wouldn't want that…”

Not much is known about Isolda - not even her surname. All anyone really knows is that she is an adventurer with a somewhat murky and questionable past, is here of her own volition, and certainly isn’t from Orden like the rest of the Expedition. She also adores Honey Mead.

She has a clear interest in the Monolith and its origins, far beyond wanting to write her name in the history books, or getting a decent payout. As such, she will often lend you a hand with her cannon, and help you with various tasks if you ask.

Missed the previous parts of the trilogy? Read Part 1 and Part 2 here, and get to know the people around you in the Expedition.

In the final blog ahead of our launch (next week!), we’ll be looking at the asynchronous features in place to allow you to interact with other Mercenaries across the rift… Until then, remember: Si vis pacem, para bellum.

Stay up to date with the latest Empyreal news and see some behind the scenes content by joining our Discord. Follow us on X, Bluesky and TikTok for more.

Be sure to wishlist the game on Steam ahead of the May 8th release and try the game for yourself via the demo.
