Next update I will be retiring the old save system and the migration logic will be going away, I suspect this will happen in the next 1-2 days. I am in the process of testing some enemy balance changes on the unstable branch. When they're ready I will push to live and anyone who hasn't played since before 1.2.1 will lose out on their save data from that time. The game will just create a new save.

The demo has just been updated to version 0.0.0.25

Shop Rework:

The Computer Shop has been reworked! It's now organized into categories with a Cart that you can add/remove items from.

New Conveyor Ledge:

There's also a new Conveyor Ledge, similar to the Roller Ledge. It's useful for merging conveyor belts!

Patch Notes:
  • Reworked the Computer Shop

  • Added New Conveyor Ledge

  • Added a fresnel outline to most grabbable/interactable objects when you look at them

  • Updated the colors of the Inventory UI

  • Updated the shop & pause menus to blur the background, similar to the inventory

  • Fixed computer shop opening when pressing "F" on the table next to it. Now it only opens when you press "F" on the computer itself

  • Fixed all unlockable shop items always appearing as "NEW!" every time you reload the game

  • Fixed some machines using oversized building crates (1x2x2 instead of 1x2x1)

  • Fixed inconsistent building crate sizes sometimes when packing buildings with "F" vs Hammer Tool

  • Fixed the colors on one of the minable gold ore models

In the previous update we added 17 new languages as well as 4 new maps to the game! As a result we've been overwhelmed by huge wave of new supporters as well as the return of so many experienced players. In the last month we welcomed 15,712 new players (and 20,477 new wishlisters).

With this update we have tried to address what we can to improve the experience for as many people as possible. Check out the latest changes below:

Maintenance and Changes
Quality of Life
  • Standalone Leaderboard: includes all time daily run player records and top players of all time. https://gnomes-leaderboard.live/

  • Historic Daily Runs: you can now play every daily run ever (your score doesn't count)

  • Retry Day: When you die, restart at the beginning of the day you died.

Performance
  • Endless Mode: Improved game speed (Pathing on background thread)

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed spawning massive amounts of gold coins when the goblin king kills you and you've got blood chalice

  • Fixed the z ordering of coins/hearts during end of run menu

  • Added cap to undo history (1024)

  • Penny Bun: fixed error in description

  • Ectoplasm: gnomes can no longer be blown up by sappers and nukes when using ectoplasm

  • Fishing Hook: will now include the tile a gnome is standing on as well as adjacent tiles

  • Balisong: maximum of -1 damage and up to -75% cooldown

  • Rusty Shiv: crit chance up to 35% and cost down to 5

  • Powder Charge: cost reduced to 5

  • Whetstone: cost reduced to 5

  • Bunk Bed: cost down to 8

  • Gold Top: cost reduced to 7

  • Pike: cost reduced to 5
