Hades - kid_zomb
We are so excited to announce Hades II, our studio's fifth game and first-ever sequel! Meet the Princess of the Underworld in our 4K reveal trailer, which premiered tonight at The Game Awards:

Coming to Early Access
Like its predecessor, Hades II will be available in Early Access here on Steam for some time leading up to its full v1.0 launch. Add Hades II to your wishlist for a handy reminder when the time comes:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145350/Hades_II/
Feedback from our player community through the course of development was foundational to the design and vital to the quality of the original game, so we plan to reprise that type of process with Hades II. Expect more information about our Early Access sometime in 2023.

About the Game
In Hades II, you'll battle beyond the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the sinister Titan of Time in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.

This is a direct sequel taking place sometime after the events of the original game. No prior knowledge of the original Hades is needed, though there are plenty of connections!

As Melinoë, the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you'll explore a bigger, deeper mythic world, vanquishing the Titan's forces with the full might of Olympus behind you, in a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment. New locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and surprises await as you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld again and again.

Like her brother Zagreus from the original game, Melinoë is not a character of our own invention, and is based on an ancient Underworld deity thought to be related to Hades. What little ancient mythology exists about her was more than enough to make us want to explore her story and connection to her family, and in so doing, expand on our vision of the Underworld!

For more details, check our Hades II FAQ. Please note, much like with our past titles, we plan to leave many details for you to discover!

About Supergiant Games
We are a small independent game studio based in San Francisco, CA. Since 2009, we have strived to make games that spark your imagination like the games you played as a kid.

We now have more than 20 people on our team (a few more than on the original Hades), including all seven of the original members of the team that created our first game, Bastion, who have worked together in their respective roles on all our games ever since.

We work on one main new game project at a time, and Hades II is that project for the foreseeable future. The original Hades earned more than 70 Game of the Year awards following its v1.0 launch in 2020, and grew into our most successful game. Now, we are doing our best to make a sequel that lives up to its predecessor, and stands strong on its own merits.

Your generous support is the reason we've been able to stick together as a team all this time, so thank you very much for believing in us and for your patience as we develop this game!

We're thrilled to announce that we've joined forces with Fangamer to bring you a new line of official Hades merchandise, ranging from plushies to pins, and from artwork to apparel!

Like all the merchandise we've offered in the past, these items were designed in close collaboration with our team. And, Fangamer has years of experience delivering great game-inspired merchandise to customers around the world, so these items will be easier to get a hold of than items we've offered in the past. Here are some of the highlights!

This notorious hound of hell is somewhat smaller than the real thing, measuring about 12" long from heads to tail. For maximum softness, the monstrous creature is filled with polyester cloud stuffing and covered in baby minky material. Designed by Nina Matsumoto and prototyped by Eyes5.

Bask in the dark beauty of the Underworld of Hades in this stunning set of three original full-color art prints by the game's environment artist Joanne Tran and art director Jen Zee. Each piece in this run of 1000 measures 18" by 24" and is printed using the highest quality inks and materials. Perfect for framing, and designed to be displayed together.

This plush of everyone's favorite House of Hades custodian / floating gorgon head is about 10" tall, wields a felt feather duster, and features a squeeze-activated voice box that emits one of dozens of generally anxious voice lines. Powered by three replaceable AAA batteries, included.

Now you can always go the painful way in this long-sleeved shirt by Nina Matsumoto. The original design is printed on the chest and both sleeves by Forward, on the 100% cotton PC61LS from Port & Company.

...And More!
Browse the full catalog for enamel pins, the original soundtrack CD, T-shirts, and more -- and stay tuned, because we expect to have new items available down the line! We've always wanted to create great merchandise for our games, as it's always been a refreshing creative challenge between making games! We hope you enjoy these new items if you decide to pick them up, and really appreciate your support.

On December 18, 2021, Hades earned the first-ever Hugo Award for Best Video Game! This one was special even among all the wonderful accolades our game has received.

The Hugo Awards are legendary in the world of fantasy and science fiction media, and date back to the early 1950s. Best Novel winners over the years include iconic works such as The Man in the High Castle, Dune, Neuromancer, and American Gods, among many more. Yet this was the very first year the Hugos included a Best Video Game category, so it's all the more reason we were deeply grateful and honored that our game earned the distinction out of all the nominees.

We hope the Hugos continue to recognize great works of fantasy and science fiction in this medium!

EDIT: Congratulations to the winners of The Steam Awards! And our heartfelt thanks to everyone who voted for Hades. While we didn't quite get there, it's amazing to have been in the running.
___________________________________

On behalf of all of us at Supergiant Games, we are honored to see Hades nominated for Game of the Year in The Steam Awards! You had thousands of deserving games to choose from, ranging from some of the most spectacular blockbusters ever created, to some incredibly inventive titles from smaller teams like ours... and Hades made that short list. Thank you!! And now, voting begins to crown the winner.

We've been blown away by the accolades Hades has received thus far. It's been selected as 2020's Game of the Year by IGN, Polygon, Ars Technica, TIME Magazine, and The Washington Post, among others. It earned Best Action Game and Best Indie Game at The Game Awards, Best Action Game from PC Gamer, and Critics' Choice and Best Indie Game at the Golden Joystick Awards. This is an embarrassment of riches, well beyond what our previous games have achieved.

These accolades have demonstrated Hades has what it takes to really impress critics. So, how about you? If you think Hades deserves to win it all, we humbly ask for your vote for Game of the Year, here in The Steam Awards. It would mean so much to us.

Regardless of the outcome... our experience creating Hades, and launching it to such a warm and enthusiastic reception here, is something we will never forget. Having played Hades, you know that the blessings from the gods are key to keeping Zagreus going. In turn, your kind words and support -- your blessings -- have inspired us throughout development, and we're very grateful to be in this position at all.

So, thank you again. We hope you have a safe and restful holiday, filled with wonderful games.
