Hello everyone!

I had to make this update as soon as possible after noticing (thanks to your reports!!) a new bug in the journal introduced by the previous update. I apologize to anyone who encountered this issue.

  • Fix: When buying information using karma in the journal, it was only retrieving the item name, and the "Buy Information" button wasn't being removed.

  • Fix: Every time you fished, the journal would refresh to the first entry, making it annoying to use when tracking a specific fish.

Sorry for the trouble, and thank you for your patience!

We’re launching our first public playtest on Steam, and anyone can join!

Playtest starts: July 15, 2025
Playtest ends: July 31, 2025

Goals of the playtest:
  • Fine-tune the combat system to make it as satisfying and fun as possible — while keeping it challenging

  • Gather feedback on control feel and responsiveness

  • Understand how you experience the overall gameplay dynamics

What’s not ready yet:
  • All visual elements (environment, UI, animations) and sound effects are temporary and do not reflect the final quality

  • Performance optimization is still in progress

  • Game balance is not final

Why you should join:
  • You’ll have a chance to directly influence the game’s development

  • Your feedback will help us improve the experience and shape the game’s direction

  • You'll receive a unique reward at launch (we won’t spoil what it is yet — mostly because we haven’t decided either 😄)

Thank You For Your Application! is now available on Steam! Additionally, within the next 2-4 weeks the game will receive a few support updates to fix bugs and add some new gameplay features that I think will really tie the whole package together!

This is my first indie game release so I fully expect for there to be a number of bugs and weird edge-case gameplay problems that my testing wasn't able to uncover. Please report any bugs you find to the user forums here on Steam so that I can add it to my known issues list!

Cozy Crunch Playtest Update 0.1.4:

Polish/Clarification:
- Added translations for steam achievements
- Switched Portuguese to be Brazilian Portuguese
- Added translations for features in added in previous/current patch
- Changed up timing for crunch animation so triple crunch can line up with the music and add an extra challenge!
- Moved dialogue to separate audio channel and added a separate volume slider for dialogue in settings
- Did a quick rebalance of audio, will need a more in depth one later
- Leaf bits now follow a randomized curved path when collected
- Player now jumps into/out of character creator

Hey all,

We're pushing a smaller patch that fixes some bugs and introduces quality of life changes.

List of changes
  • Enemy homing missiles can now be perfect-blocked by the Paladin’s shield. If you have the ‘Return to Sender’ subroutine as well, they will also seek out the enemy that launched them originally

  • Enemy explosive missiles no longer have a larger blast radius than their explosion effects would imply

  • Beam Ward enemies no longer leave their beam effects behind after they die

  • Fixed a bug where defeating the Realm 3 boss would not result in a loot screen

  • Fixed a bug where the quick attack of your ranged weapons would get ‘stuck’ if you had any kind of beam weapons equipped as well

  • Fixed a bug where Sniper enemy types drift aimlessly and do nothing

  • Fixed a bug in the Breakaway event, where you could pick up Sir Archibald twice in your cargo

  • Fixed a glitch where you could teleport inside the walls during the Realm 4 boss-fight

Thank you all for submitting bug reports and suggestions, keep'em coming! We'll probably do a smaller patch like this in the near future.

GAMEPLAY
+ Reworked headbutts to be a charged style attack with scaling damage based on both time and speed. Each species has it's own unique base charging rates.

+ Reworked headbutt hitbox detection, should be much easier to land headbutts.

+ Headbutts now also hit downed animals.

+ Improved fluidity of sprinting movement that would sometimes be lost when changing directions.

+ Increased Triceratops speed 10%

Switching instructions:
  1. Select SVFI in the left software panel
  2. Right-click → Properties
  3. Navigate to Beta versions
  4. Select beta-cu128 branch from dropdown and confirm
  5. Wait for update to complete before use
