This is the FIRST of planned OPTIMAZATION updates. Using a "pooling" method of creating/destroying DINOSAURS AND TRIBAL ENEMIES. This should eliminate persistent spikes in the garbage collection code, and hopefully make the game run better!
Japanese Castle Defense : Zundamon Castle - KC Project
Update Notice

A new update has arrived! In Zundamon Castle, two new terrain detail modes (8m and 4m scale) have been added for creating more detailed Japanese terrain. Additionally, shield soldiers have been added as allies. In the next update, cavalry units are scheduled to be introduced.

[New Features & Specification Changes]
  1. Japanese terrain generation now supports 8m and 4m scales
  2. Ninjas were weaker than other enemies, so a new ability was added: "Do not fall when attacked"
  3. Increased the number and level of ninja raids on higher difficulties (Adjusted slightly based on feedback from the beta version)
  4. Strengthened earthen walls to make them fire-resistant
  5. Added a warning note regarding 8m and 4m terrain generation: “Water representation may be unstable.” (Although existing river data for up to 16m scale was expanded, terrain issues occurred, so some roughness remains for now.)
  6. Optimized unit movement processing for better performance
  7. Production limits can now be set via long press and direct input

[Bug Fixes]
  1. Fixed a bug where training ground sounds would loop and overlap, causing the volume to increase.
  2. Fixed an issue where the number of Zundamon requiring rations in the top-right display would incorrectly decrease by the number of new recruits when building a barracks
  3. Fixed a bug where saving while in Challenge Mode would result in the mode being disabled upon loading (caused by the Challenge MOD feature)
  4. Fixed a bug where all buildings would default to the same recipe after loading if a default recipe had been set
  5. Fixed a bug where using old save data would cause soldiers to be issued pay repeatedly
  6. Fixed a bug where overlapping tasks for horse couriers would remain when using old save data
  7. Fixed a bug where tasks to transport equipment with value “0” would remain when using old save data

Enhancements
  • Mouse and keyboard input prompts will now display glyphs instead of plain text.

  • The gameplay information menu in Diana's room has been migrated into the field menu as Help and can now be accessed anywhere. The old Help menu has been renamed to Reference and is accessible via hotkey or from the new Help menu.

  • Gameplay tips have been removed from the Reference menu and have been folded into the appropriate topics in the new Help menu.

  • Added detailed information on character statistics to the Help menu.

  • Added an option for borderless fullscreen mode. The previous fullscreen mode is now designated as exclusive mode. Note that depending on your resolution, the image may be smaller in borderless mode than in exclusive mode if pixel-perfect scaling is also enabled. This is due to a quirk in how Godot implements this mode.

  • Increased the maximum volume that can be selected in the Options menu. The values of 1-10 represent the same volume levels as before, but the sliders can now be increased to 15.

  • The Options menu will now display tooltips at the bottom of the screen to explain the currently focused option.

  • Invalid menu options will display in a slightly brighter color for better contrast.

  • Small improvements to Crowe's portrait.

  • Music will now fade more gracefully after a party wipe.

  • Miscellaneous dialogue improvements.

  • Character creation is now more explicit that base stats will not increase during the game.

  • Added file system locations to the Reference menu.

Bug Fixes
  • The binding for a gamepad field action will no longer be deleted when attempting to rebind an analog stick direction to the action, which is not allowed, and then canceling the rebinding.

  • Fixed some settings not initializing to the correct defaults on first application launch.

The Mount Update
You can now collect & ride mounts

Tired of traveling on your feet? Haven't unlocked building portals yet? Always wanted the spirit of a slain foe turned ally to hang out with? Well, look no further!

Using mounts

You can now gather the soul essence of bosses you slay and trade them with the witch merchant. Using her mystical powers, she can grant you the ability to summon them or other objects on command for traveling.

Mounts travel faster than sprinting and use up no stamina. But be careful - they aren't a get out of trouble free card! Mounts take time to summon. And they can't hold their physical form if you take damage, so you'll be knocked off!

A fun note on designing mounts

Originally every mount had a different rank (Normal, Legendary, etc.) which effected how fast it was. But we realized that means players might not use their favorite mount because a different mount was faster. So we eventually scrapped that and rebuilt the system so that players can use any mount they want & use skill runes to upgrade their speed.

New Companion Animations

Many people were wondering, so wonder no longer! We've added another 10 new animations to companions (2 new positions per companion) for the male player character.

We've always had plans to continue to expand the number of animations available for all player characters and we plan to continue adding more.

Good evening Wardens! Today's update makes the codex easier to complete in the postgame and makes one of the final levels easier to navigate, among other fixes and tweaks.

General:

- When the ending is reached, the Codex will now display the names of all missing codex entries along with a hint for where to find them.

- Fixed an issue with creating new save files in Custom difficulty.

- Fixed another line of dialog that wasn't being properly displayed in Japanese.

- Fixed various grammatical inconsistencies in the Japanese translation.

- Enemies and hazards now have increased resistance to Stasis on Proud.

- The Records menu should now display the correct number of border artworks and codex entries when calculating for 100% completion.

Enemies:

- Spice Breakers now take a slightly longer to attack when appearing on-screen or respawning.

Carnival Railway:

- Fixed some issues that were causing one of the Thread puzzles to be significantly harder than originally intended.

The World Tree:

- The warp trunk leading to the secret CD area is now visually more obvious.

- In Autumn, an area leading to invisible snow blocks is now blocked off until the player progresses to Winter.

Magic Resort:

- Fixed an issue that was causing a specific secret in both missions to be much less visible than was originally intended.

Tower of Darkness:

- A few significant changes have been made to the first part of this level to help players navigate the main pathway.

Zero Seconds to Midnight:

- IRyS has better aim now.

Resolved an issue where the “Import” option was displayed even without YsX clear data.

*Note: On Steam Deck, each game creates a virtual Windows C: drive, preventing access to save data folders from other applications.

Fixed a problem where moving the mouse while a target was locked could unintentionally switch the lock to a different target.
