Unrailed 2: Back on Track - Indoor Astronaut

Hi everyone!

We just pushed another experimental version update. If you want to be the first to see the new features that will come to Unrailed you are in the right place!

You can access the experimental version via right click on Unrailed -> settings-> Betas.

Note that changes are not yet complete and things might change depending on your feedback.

Breaking News!
Just a few hours ago, I discovered a very unpleasant issue — the server list display is currently not working. This came as a complete surprise to me, as I haven’t touched any code related to that functionality. After updating to Unreal Engine version 5.5, the online subsystem stopped functioning correctly and no longer displays created sessions properly.

Once again, I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Epic Games for breaking something critically important in the engine with every new update.

I’ve made a decision for myself — this will be the last engine version upgrade for this project. From now on, it will remain on version 5.5 for as long as technically possible. Version updates have started causing far too many problems.

Right now, I’m working on fixing the issue with the server list display. In PvE mode, when you host your own server, everything works as expected.

Axyz - Space Lion Studios

Hey folks!

We've just released a hotfix (Build 1.0.8) for an issue where Steam Achievements were not registering, caused by a bug introduced with the 1.0.7 update on June 26th (last Thursday), meaning any Steam Achievements earned during this period were not activating.

As the bulk of the achievements in Axyz are tied to collecting the tapes, beating the high scores and completing the levels for each World, you should be able to unlock any missing achievements simply by beating a level in any previous World you have completed.

For example, if you collected all tapes and high scores for each level in World 1 (and thus completed World 1), you should be able to unlock the 3 achievements tied to these objectives simply by beating any level in World 1 (just grab the key and head to the exit!).

If you collected all the tapes but not all the high scores, you will only earn the achievements for the tapes and beating World 1.

💬Performance & Stability Improvements
  • Identified and applied a workaround for a Unity light rendering issue, causing major performance degradation over time.
  • Fixed an issue that was spamming error logs and significantly tanking CPU performance.
  • Fixed varied issues around lobby menus, more fixes to come.
  • Fixed the most commonly auto-reported random error messages.
  • Added character safety for chat to fix performance loss from incompatible text.
  • Fixed missing combat crosshair if setting was corrupted

🔉Escalation Mode Adjustments
  • Escalation 0 ammo pickup bonus increased from 25% to 50%.
  • Escalation 0 now gives 25% spare ammunition.
  • Escalation 1 ammo pickup bonus increased from 25% to 35%.
  • Escalation 1 now gives 25% spare ammunition.

💥Enemies
  • X1 Discus enemy is now spawning.
  • Armageddon Beholder enemy is now spawning.
  • Bosses now deal 5000 damage to friendlies on death.
  • Sawblade Boss now properly spawns mini sawblades when other sawblades die.
  • Fixed Chrono Chest spawning friendly Chrono units.
  • Mark Target now lasts 6 seconds (down from 8 seconds) and can no longer stack on players.

🎯Classes
Gunner
  • Global Minimum Fire-Rate increased from 25 to 35.
  • 10% more base fire-rate.
  • Burst fire rate increased from 5% to 10% per stack of Ramp-Up.
  • Deviation reduced from 0.5 to 0.4 per stack of Ramp-Up.
  • Reloading now also pauses the decay for 2.5 seconds.

Sniper
  • Target Laser is now held only.
  • Target Laser now charges up a critical strike on maximum stacks.
  • Replaced Sniper Kit passive with a new one.

⚡Items / Shops / Weapons
  • Potentially fixed Hunter-Unit double revive issue. (?)
  • Heat Spreader now applies a first stack of burn in a large radius on first activation.
  • Plating Printer now triggers its explosion on activation as well.
  • Voltaic Gyroscope range and damage increased to make it more effective at close range.
  • RPG missile replaced with straight-fired missile.
  • All Coil Guns damage increased from 3 to 3.3.
  • Fixed Blessed tools not giving cooldown speed.
  • Loop shops now give a random selection in case someone teleports with the shop opened.

🎬UI / UX Improvements and fixes
  • Fixed new UI bugs and integration issues for mod downloads via mod.io.
  • Fixed Badges not showing in the end screen.
  • Lobby leaving no longer automatically switches back to global chat.
  • The chat disable boolean now properly blocks joining global chat (included in Sunday mini-fix); chat window and party chat are intended to stay open.
  • Fixed the loading screen background.
  • Fixed the Escalation Tower icon not showing.
  • Fixed the Learning Terminal camera doing an unnecessary spin.
  • Added class description text into the Android menu.
  • Fixed the Apocalyptic Survival Kit not showing its tooltip properly.
  • Replaced the intro cinematic with an Android UI style.
  • Disabled lobby join highlighting on private lobbies.

🔧I have other issues:
  • Varied people have bad performance on DirectX12, please switch to DX11 in steam and/or update graphics drivers
  • People having crashes: Verify game files in steam. Crashes are 99% a faulty install.
  • People having really poor networking performance: Google for Speedtest and Packet Loss test, if these are good, please report to us

Spill the Beans - skeletalgamesstudio

Hey there Steam denizens, it's been a little while!

We've been busy, working quietly in the background to bring you an updated demo showcasing how investigation works in Spill the Beans. That's right, on 7th July you'll be able to interrogate our scapegoats in two of the fifteen total routes that will be available in the full game - and maybe see where the story takes you on the way!

And on the note of updates, we'll also be launching our Kickstarter on that day! This game has been a passion project of ours for the last few years, and we hope to use the Kickstarter to let us dedicate proper time to getting the game over the finish line!

Should you back the Kickstarter or help spread awareness, you'll be able to get some fun rewards like new customisation options, an artbook, and even the ability to date one of our NPCs in a special side story (goals willing).

We hope to see you back here on the 7th, for the new demo and Kickstarter! In the meantime, feel free to follow us on our socials.

Big update tonight.

1.19:

- Added a game version checker to prevent mismatch during online play

- Added police drones (they spawn at 2 stars or when location security level is raised)

- Enlarged drop off boxes (for real this time)

- Fixed 105 gate sound being too loud

- Fixed bug when winning completionist mode and at the same time returning to the hideout, which ruined the game save

- Items dropped at death are now marked

- Improved fence climbing at an angle

- Removed cash penalty for police being called. Instead, general awareness of NPCs is increased for a few in-game hours

- Police sweeps a larger area during searches, based on where you were last seen

- When NPCs are searching and are in their 'stand and look around' phase, their sight is enhanced

- Decreased stamina drain while running during a police chase

- Increased hacking minigame symbol change timer

- You are harder to hit with a taser while moving around

- Added an effect when attacking various objects

- Stamina cooldown is much faster when you're not moving

- Added a keybinding for rotating the lock (lockpicking minigame)

- Increased XP received after a successful night

- Increased delivery drone speed

- Possibly fixed the bug when host is stuck on "waiting for other players" while other players can move around

- Re-added FSR 3.1, added XeSS
